Tales of Legendia

Has anyone played Tales of Legendia before? I think it's a great game! Real-time battle system, sweet storyline, colorful characters, bigger enemies, intense boss fights, awesome moves and nice equipment. If your a fan of the Tales series you should definetly get this game. If you have this game already where are you right now? I'm at the Wings of Light
(last stage in Main Quest -yeah!)

Don't worry you still got another 30 hours of the game left to play through. I've played Tales of Legendia and Tales of the Abyss is a far better game. Legendia was good, but Abyss is so much better of a game purely on characters alone. Abyss is also a little more challenging than Legendia, though the final boss in Legendia was rough for me. However, the final boss in Abyss killed be a bunch of times before I could defeat them.

Either way, Legendia is a good game to play. Though it is a little strange playing through the main story and then playing through side quests for the rest of the game. There is even two credit rolls in the game. I found the side quests a little more interesting at times than the main quest since you find about more to the back story of the side characters.

Though one thing that Tales has going for it is fun characters. The really disappointing thing is that they stop the voice acting at the main quest. So you only hear their voices in FMVs afterwards. Though Abyss has none of their skits dubbed, so I guess it is about the same.

I tried Tales of Legendia and honestly I didn't care for it. But Andromeda is right, you should try Tales of the Abyss. Its currently my favorite Tales game, I enjoyed it a lot. The game itself is very long, you can easily spend 60+ hours in your first play though, and it has very high re playability with the grade shop as well as dungeons that can only be done on the second play though. The game also has a very memorable soundtrack, I was glad they at least kept the non vocal part off the original intro(a first for a Tales game from my understanding the other just put in brand new music for their English intros).

I also recommend Tales of Symphonia, while not nearly as good as Abyss its still a very enjoyable Tales game.

Ugh, I'll never understand why people actually think this is a good game. The game only has one good character, it's incredibly shallow, and the story is boring. I honestly don't even know how I could've bothered myself to keep playing after I beat the bollocks out of Vaclav and his goonies.

The game was about as entertaining as biting my nails once I got to character quests, which were too long, and only an insane person would even care about once they got to them.

Besides the "Legendia was good" statement, QFT.

Legendia was absolute bollocks compared to Abyss. It's like comparing a match to an oven, it fails. Hard.

The controls for Legendia were so crappy. I mean, it was difficult enough to execute a combo with a base and arcane Arte, let alone even make a strategy. The game is just like Final Fantasy X-2 in terms of it's battle system, it's a "SPAM YOUR X BUTTON TO DEATH" kind of game, which is lame.

Half your attacks also give off a bible adventures kind of vibe, too. It's like some of them were made to intentionally just miss the enemy, which is just stupid.

I actually thought Legendia's cast were abominations to the series, save Senel. More than any other characters I've ever seen in a game, I really hate Norma and Jay. They were both idiotic and annoying twats.

Norma really had my goat throughout the game with her obnoxious attitude. About 90% percent of the time, I wanted to beat her senseless with Will's hammer. >_________>

The other 10% was spent wanting to cut her in half with a chainsaw. >________>

Jay was an annoying punk. Ironically enough, throughout the game, he berates the only good character, which is very laughable. It's like he's the male manifestation of Tear or something. He's very annoying, and certainly not very witty.

Usually when a character is a rude one, they can actually make you chuckle a good bit, but Jay failed at it. He was an extremely childish character, with age-old insults.

The only really good thing about Tales of Legendia was it's soundtrack. I despise everything else Legendia. And that one gay guitar song that's butchered and overused throughout the game. It bothers me enough that I turn off my stereo so that I don't have to listen to it.

If you're looking for a Tales of game that will make you laugh and a game that you can beat easily then Tales of Legendia is the way to go. Its an entertaining Tales of game. However, to put this game in the same category as Tales of Symphonia, or Tales of the Abyss is wrong. This game is only good for entertainment purposes. But if you want to get into the best of the Tales of series I would go with Abyss or Symphonia.
