Wii or PS3???

Ok, Im thinking on Getting Either the PS3 or A Wii, but i want to know some the opinions on the systems and the games that are on them.
The reason i want a Wii is for Zelda The The Twilight Princess.
And the PS3 For Assassins Creed, but I Cant Decide which one to get cause Both the Games look great, But i want some opinions so it would make my chooseing easier.

ok ive said this b4. THE PS3 SUXS!! it costs too much, doesnt work like sony said it would (look at the backward capatability), and doesnt have enough games out for it that are worth buying. his seems to be sony's problem anymore with the ps3 and psp (except the psp doesnt have backwards capability cus theres nothing b4 it it just has dvds u cant watch on dvd players just on psps). now we move on to the Wii. its revolutionary SO much tht the origioanl name of it was the nintendo revolution. granted its not as fancy as the 900 dollar ps3 adn the graphics rnt as good as the other systems (i know theyre not as good as the ps3 not sure about the 360 ud have to ask some1 else if theyre as good as thoose graphics) but its very fun to play and it comes with a free copy of wii sports. but if u get a wii be careful cus the strap u use to strap the controller to urselve has been reported as snapping but thats cus people have been butting too much force behind it and i think theyre making a better starp to replace the old one.

I'd say go for a Wii, there are a lot of fun games coming out for it. And yeah The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for Wii is VERY fun. They did a good job with the controls imo. Swinging the Wii remote is very fun compared to pressing a button and helps bring you into the game. Wii Sports is also a great deal of fun too. In the future the Wii has Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, NiGHTs 2, Dragon Quest Swords, and those are just the games that are supposed to be out by the end of this year that I'm very interested in. The VC is also great if you missed any of the classics that are on it currently and don't feel comfortable using ROMs(I don't feel comfortable with ROMs personally thats why I love the VC). To top it all off, you're gonna be saving a lot of money with a Wii. I'm hoping that Kingdom Hearts 3 will go to Wii, it'd be so fun with the Wii remote.

PS3 right now doesn't have much going for it that I'm interested in. $600 to get the full system really doesn't impress me, I'm not even going to consider one until the price drops down to something reasonable. And yes I know the "PS3 is worth $600 because its a blu ray player" argument, but as I have no interest in Blu Ray at this time its not going to convince me to buy it. I want to play games, I already got a DVD player and a PS2 I can use to watch movies with, and considering I only have an SDTV, Blu Ray does nothing for me. Besides, the ONLY game that I'm remotely interested in is FFXIII and that’s still apparently up in the air if that’s going to be exclusive to PS3 or go to 360 as well. I've also noticed quite a number of JRPGs going to 360, so if I do decide to get another system it might just be a 360.

Personally I would already be owning both systems if I had the money. They are both decent, but very different consoles. I wouldn't get either console at this time though, as I don't think either system is really worth the current price tag. Hardware-wise the Wii is really more last gen than next gen, and even though it is cheaper than the Xbox 360 and PS3, I still think that it is quite the price for something with such humble specs. The PS3 on the other hand has yet to show anything that justifies a price tag showing almost twice the cost of the Xbox 360 which came out more than a year ago.

But if you REALLY want to buy a console now, I would recommend the PS3. It might be expensive, but to me it seems like the safest long time investment.

I strongly disagree with this, if its anything like PS2 hardware (i.e. DRE issues) the majority first few batches of PS3s will go bad with in a few years. I really don't think going with a PS3 would be the "safest" investment. Even software wise, look at all of the devs jumping ship to 360(DMC4 going multiplatform, Ace Combat V going to 360 exclusively). Wii is also getting lots of 3rd party support as well (and will continue to get more if sales keep up as they are). If you decide you want a PS3 that bad, don't get one right now just wait. The price will go down (if Sony actually wants to sell enough PS3s to catch up with 360 and Wii) and any defects that will occur in hardware will have shown up.

I agree with much of what you just said, but compared to the Wii I still consider the PS3 a better long time investment. The graphics of the Wii looked dated already the day it came out. Surely they don't look THAT bad at present time, but in a couple of years, the hardware difference between the 3 consoles is really going to show. Some people might want to bring up Wii-mote and Nintendo's gameplay over graphics mantra, but to me their new controller feels more like a (really cool) gimmick than the future of gaming.

In spite of the initial success of the PS3 not being hugely impressive compared to that of the PS1 and PS2, Sony still has a big fan base. I don't really see any of the 3 next gen systems having the potential to completely dominate the market the way the PS1 and PS2 did, but I still consider the PS3 a good investment. It's a powerful piece of hardware and I have no doubts that it will still be going strong in 4 or 5 years (unlike the Wii where I have my doubts)

Actually the issue with the current Wii's graphics looking bad(with the exception of Sonic and the Secret Rings) is because third party developers were working on Game Cube dev kits rigged to support the Wii remote, thus the crappy looking games. Heck Nintendo even admitted they made no effort to upgrade TP's grahics. From my understanding the true Wii dev kits didn't go out till a few months before Wii's launch. If you look at Sonic and the Secret Rings, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Metroid Prime 3, you'll see graphics that were much better then anything last gen.

http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748588/imgs_1.html Mario Galaxy

http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748545/imgs_1.html Smash Brothers Brawl

And those are just first gen games that will be out this year. Those aren't "bad" looking games, and the Wii has the potential to do even better. While I'm not saying Wii games will ever look as good as 360 or PS3 games, look at what dev's did with the PS2. It was the weakest system yes but it also had some awesome looking games.

I'll agree that Sony did have a strong base, but they lost quite a bit of that by putting out a $500-$600 system. As powerful as it is, it needs to be at a competitive price to keep up with the Wii and 360(outside of Japan).

You should definitely get a Wii. I have a Wii and I'm in f*cking love with it. I have The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the way the controls are, is really fun. The Wii controller makes the games that you get really fun. I also have Red Steel. That's a good game too. The reason why I say the Wii though is because its $250, has many good games coming out like Forever Dying Link mentioned, and has a majority of the fun games. Nintendo may not be focused on graphics and making their consoles all virtual and stuff, but the Wii is a fun console.

Get the Wii, ANd Super Monkey Ball. There is nothing funnier than jabbing a monkey with the wiimote while drunk. NOTHING! Oh yeah, and with the money you save as the price is a lot less, you could buy a fair few games, newest Loz included.

Well if you want twilight princess REAL bad then get it for gamecube. But ya, it is more fun to play on the Wii and it dosn't cost 500$ like the ps3. The Wii is a must! Smash bros Brawl is coming for it so ya.

i strongly disagree the ps2 was not the weakest console. i belive it was the gamecube. i mean the gamecube had the worst graphics outa the 3 and u hear about ps2 and xbox games more than gamecube games. is this cus theyre better? mayb is this saying tht all gamecube games are bad? no. im just saying that i think it was the weakest of the 3.
