earthbound zero remake

hey guys you've heard of earthbound zero, right? well theres a work-in-progress remake going on according to starmen.net. it looks really cool. its being made of f the earthbound engine and some of the music was redone too. check it out sometime.

Well, is this an illegal project?

The whole Chrono Trigger remake fan-teams got me wicked excited but Square persisted that they cease their work.

I will check this out, but don't expect great things from it.

the chrono trigger project got shut down because they were going to sell it. they got full of themselves, started thinking that it was their property, and were going to sell it on xbox and gamecube. that, my friend, is why they got the cease and desist order from squenix.

someone remaking a game for fun shouldn't really bother the lawyers too much. sure, it is 'technically' illegal - but smaller projects like this usually don't get shut down. the chrono trigger remake got far too much attention for its own good.

EDIT: after actually going to the site i can't find anything about a remake. could you post a more specific link?

I played Earthbound Zero and it isn't half as good as Earthbound. Though it may seem cool because you have never seen it before, it probably isn't worth the effort.

i would like to chime in and point out that 'earthbound zero' has an INCREDIBLE soundtrack done by none other than nintendo's man with the master plan hirokazu 'hip' tanaka - of duck hunt, balloon fight, donkey kong, dr. mario, and metroid OST fame. if you have the NSF plugin for winamp i suggest you for the file mother.nsf and check it out

Okay, I'll give you that one Earthbound Zero does has a very good soundtrack. But so does Earthbound and it isn't half as hard to find.
