Mario Or Zelda?

I've been a nintendo fan a long time and this is a question i always ask a nintendo fan: Out of the two big nintendo mascots, which series is better overall, MARIO or ZELDA?

I'd have to go with Zelda, i dont know i might just be a little biased towards it because i'm more of the rpg kind of player. Though i own basically the entire old school mario games with all stars, super mario world, mario 64. And i loved them all, 2 was definitely odd though still enjoyable. Mario 3 or Super Mario World are prob my two favs.

They're both awesome because they're both different types of games and they dominate they're genre
With Mario dominating the platformer genre and started a revolution in gaming and Zelda taking RP (as it's genre is sometimes called) to a whole new level leaving gamers hooked even today

They are both great and have stood the test of time. But for me... it has to be Link. He is just awesome. He wields a master sword! Come on now... I love Mario but Link is just more my style when it comes to the games. That and he never talks, he just grunts and makes little random noises, and sometimes it sounds like he is saying "SKANK!" which cracks me up to no end.

I had to vote for Zelda just because I like the game play better. I mean it is fun to kill things by jumping and shooting fire but I find it more fun to just use a good old fashion sword. I also like that Zelda involves more puzzels and role-playing aspects.

Hmm.. they're both pretty awesome.

But to choose, I'd have to say Zelda. Mainly cos I'm much more of an RP fan and I think the whole way Zelda is done is truly awesome. Also, Mario didn't have quite so much depth to it as Zelda. But of course it was a different type of game and still very awesome. But just not quite as awesome as Zelda.

Yeah they both are really good games but I tend to lean more to Zelda becuase of the time frame its in. Modern plumber verses ancient time warrior . I gotta go with Zelda in the long run.

I really like both of them. Its really a hard choice, but I have to go with Mario. Mario is definitley a genuine video game character. He's a hero and looks really cool and has been in racing, soccer, baseball, and other games created by Nitendo. He will defnintely will be around for a long time and will always be remembered. Also, I'm really looking forward to Mario Galaxy on the Wii.

I like both of them...but it really depends on what you like better those fun everyone party and adventure games....or those action adventure filled with puzzles and dungeons games...

Legend of Zelda series, hands down being better than Mario.

Link has stuck to one huge story line throughout, in different generations with new heros of course, but keeping true to itself.
Mario has been Jumpman, an electrician, a plumber and a voice that crippled the game (damn you charles >.<)
Mario is more for little gamers, that dont look for a challenge, just colour.
Zelda is more mature, and expects you to follow a story, and READ!!! ^_^;

Maybe i am being biased, i have been an RPG player all my life...

i like zelda a lot more then mario that doesnt mean i dont like mario i just think zelda beats mario any day (as i see maybe not yall).

zelda has a lot more play then mario does,
mario has a set path like in the clasic side scroll games but recently they have became more intresting EX: mario sunshine and the one for N64.

Zelda has less of a set path in most of its games. there is a path but you go back to it or go to another one(depends what part of the game your at)

I would definately have to go with Zelda...just better games recently but if you want to go back to old school Nintendo i'd have to say Mario...

but a even tougher question would be Mario or Sonic?

mario casue i find it funner (multiplayer). Zelda is a much beter 1 p game but mario is so awesome and fun. The games are different like sports,adventure, fighting ect and so that gives u a variety of which mario game u would like. Multiplay is da bomb
