Best Zelda game???

I don't think you can talk about RPGs without bringing up the Zelda series.. well actually maybe you can, for i really don't consider it an rpg, but an adventure game with rpg elements. Anywayz though..out of all the games in zelda's past, which one do you think is the best and why?

I said Link to the Past..though it was really close with Ocarina of Time. I dont know though theres something classic about Link to the Past for me though. I guess maybe because it was my first rpg i played or something.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Twilight Princess though. Looks like it could be the best yet in the series.

note for zelda fans check out http://monkeypro.net/oot2d/ for Ocarina of time 2D (remake of ocarina of time with link to the past snes typle graphics)

My fave is OoT, but, that could be because it was my first Zelda.
Or maybe because it is such a good game.
God, I just love the whole Hyrule field, Kakariko Village is still one of my favorite game world places, the music is astoundingly beautiful and it just has a je ne sais quois that makes the whole game a beautiful experience.

I haven't finished LttP yet, a lot of people says it's the best one, there must be something to it that I haven't discovered, although, one good thing I can say about it is that it did seem more dificult than the later ones.

I like Majora's Mask a lot too, although I find the atmosphere to be a bit off, maybe I should say a bit more threatening than Ocarina, the Kokiri child and some places like the swamp made it look so to me.
I do love the three day dynamics and it's atmosphere, I love how it rains on the second day and how everyone goes around the same business over and over, but I didn't like some parts as much, such as the whole story about the band and it's singer (don't remember much about that) and, oh, my goodness, that Goron baby!.
X/

I had my qualms with WW, the graphics made it hard for me to feel the atmosphere, or maybe I should say, to get immersed in the game, maybe because it was my first time playing a game made with cell-shading, but, atmosphere is very important to me, and I just didn't feel it.
Eventually, I learned to love certain things, the gorgeous nights at sea, the stormy weather and that elusive ghost ship, I loved that thing!.
But, I did find it too easy, too scattered, I don't know, I had a hard time following it, I got bored sailing back and forth and I didn't like the final boss, in fact, I quit then and there, I didn't want to fight a
Spoiler:
marionet!.

I am thinking of giving it a second chance once I get my WII, though.

XD Gamecube, not N64!

Well lets see...I'm only the BIGGEST ZELDA FAN EVER! I have beaten every single freakin one to be released so far (That includes the rare CD-I games)

My favorites are Ocarina of Time, A link to the Past, Links awakening, and Wind Waker. In that order. (Although I have a feeling that Twilight Princess will be up on my top list soon. I have been waiting for that game for so long!! ;-
Seriously though. All the Zelda games are awesome! Well...ok not Zelda II. It was a steaming pile... but yeah. Other than that, they all rock!

Haha agreed about Zelda II. I'm the biggest zelda fanmyself though i must admit i haven't played the CD-I games! Or Windwaker because i don't own a gamecube, i'm not sure if i ever will play it though.

The kiddy graphics just turn me off a little, that's why i'm so excited about Twilight Princess. I guess i haven't played Windwaker so i cant give it too much crap though

As for Marjora's Mask, a lot of people seem to REALLY like this game (my friend thinks its the best in the series) but i never seemed to get into as much. I liked OoT MUCH better. Definitely one of my top 10 of all time.

And yes Hildegarde, you are certainly right about the difficulty of Link to the Past. I guess i haven't played it in forever, but playing it at such a young age i was constantly rackin my brain for some of those puzzles and getting pissed at how quickly Link would die sometimes. Plus i had no gamefaqs or anything at that time to help. I'm not sure how hard it would be now though, but certainly a little difficulty in my opinion is a good thing.

Did people check out that OoT 2D site? being a link to the past fan i have to say that looks awesome

and has anyone played the minish cap, four swords or four swords aventures?

Hands down, Ocarina of Time. It is a brilliant game no doubt and the story is pretty cool too.

Zelda II was and still is a HUGE letdown, it was so different to the first one(which was great by the way...) and it generally sucked.

Ocarina of Time, nothing beats when you first play it, its awesome and such fun to play all the way through. (Eagerly anticipating the twilight princess!)

Wind Waker was freaking awesome! The battle engine they used in it is freaking awesome! And the bosses were great too. I love Wind Waker, despite the cell shading graphics.
Majoras Mask is not liked by most people. But I liked it. It was collecting all the masks that made that game enjoyable.

As for A Link to the Past. I remember I beat it in about a weak when it came out on the snes >__>

Yeah I saw the OoT 2D site. Nintendo shut it down. I was REALLY pissed. That would have been awesome.

As for you last question. As I have said, I have played and beaten ALL the Zelda games >___>

I own all of them too other than freakin 4 swords adventures! ;-;

Minish Cap was ok. It had really nice graphics though! But the bosses were pretty lame... and its story was weak. It was ok...I'd give it about a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Four Swords was on the GBA version of A Link to the Past (I own that too)
It was actually extremely fun. I really enjoyed it.
As for Four Swords Adventures. It was even better! Especially when you have 4 players. I loved it!!!

OoT, hands down. the story for it was flawless, i do like the windwaker graphics engine though, had wind waker been longer and gotten rid of the insanely tedious boat trips (¬¬) it might have been the best.

Majoras mask was too scratchy, just didnt feel smooth at all, and caused inoperable eye cancer =]

minish cap = pointless

four swords = pointless (four links...what the hell ¬¬)

link to the past, i had fun with that...for about a week...

lets hope that twilight princess will be good ^_^ i am looking forward to the wii version, gyroscope controller, slash slash Hook SLASH =D
