can my computer run WoW??????

so my freinds have been telling me about wow and how fun it is and stuff and how i should get into it.but im currently afraid that my computer wont be able to run wow. here are my system specs

its a compaq presario 5000us with an amd duron processor with 751mhz.
it has 320mb of ram (soon to be 576mb) and has a nvidia vanta lt which i think is a 8gb-16gb graphics card.my opertaing system is windows xp.oh, and a broadband connection too

i understand im probably going to need some upgrades but im on a budget. a low one.so please i need a little help to join the online sensation

I dont know all the technical mumbo jumbo, but I know that I have a POS for a computer and I can still run WoW. It dosent run it very gracefully but hey, it still works.

It's not a question to whether it will work..but it could affect your performance. If it runs slow you can always run the game at a lower resolution or something to see if it speeds things up a little bit. If it doesn't run well, just tweak some of your video options to see if it'll run faster.

These are the system requirements I pulled off of amazon.com for Windows.

thanks guys that gives me a bit of reinsurance. also ifyour computer is a pos than it wuold help to give a little systam spcs, so i can compare are two systems. its kinda hard to tell whether my system can run it or not cuz the minimum system requirements they show on the site tends to be a little vauge on what the game might be like if your dont meet the system requirements. what im more concerned about is my graphics card. its runs warcraft 3 just fine and the two games seem to share the same style of graphics. but i also know that wow probably has a much higher resolution. also i dont know what your opinion is on a pos. in my mind a peice of shit probably has 64mb( which much lower than the required 512mb) a really crappy graphics card and maybe a pentium 3 processor. so if your computer can barely play this game or cant it would help if you named the grapics card or ram.

edit: as i told you before im worried about my graphics card. its an nvidia vanta lt. i need to know if this card will run it but a mb number isnt going to help me. also my ram is currently 320 mb. the website said 512 mb but amazon is saying 256 gb and i dont want to buy more ram if i dont need it.

...Uhm. You need RAM. Regardless. You can never have enough RAM. It's essential. Buy it anyway.

Or instead, just save up your money and get a whole new computer. Your comp specs are way out of date. As far as specs go, your computer is probably over 5 years old. If that.

Edit: And if your budget is so low, how are you going to afford the 12$/month monthly fee of WoW?

I can run WCIII but sometimes it gets a bit jerky, I think that is mostly because of my ram, so as Piro said ram tends to be the most important thing, BUT in your case your CPU is slow so it would probably be better just to find a new PC.

Window XP: Home
AMD 2.2 gHz
256mb Ram

as well as CD-Burner, 40 GB and not too sure about my graphics card.
