I would love one of these! - PS2 in new color!
Pink Playstation 2
Greetings to all. I found this topic on another forum and I just hope that it hasn't been done here. Sony have announced that they are making a pink Playstation 2 now. I know the guys won't be interested in this.. well some of them may be but this is mainly for the girls.  I'm not sure if they are making it in other colours or not but I still think it's pretty cool. I can just see people coming here to go mad about the PS3 not being released and what not. 'Sony are wasting money!' 'Omgz I wish they would hurry up and bring out PS3!' I know they should have brought this out sooner but I think it's awesome that they are doing this. It's like they are turning this system into a fashion accessory lol. Discuss your thoughts on this. Or, If you could have a PS2 (or another one), what colour would you like? I don't know the release dates either, I just hope it's released in Australia lol.

Hmm. I'm not really a fan of pink, and so I wouldn't get one. My favourite "colour/tone/shade/whatever" is black, so I'm pretty much happy with what I have.
If I had another PS2, I would have, surprisingly, black. =P I really think this is just a plan to make people interested in buying this, hoping that it'll pre-occupy some of the PlayStation fans whilst they're perfecting their precious PlayStation 3. I'm angry at Sony for the delays, and I really don't want a pink PlayStation.

Haha, yeah you're probably right about that but still, I love it. Why didn't they just bring this out sooner so that we're not wasting our money? I don't get why they would bring out a PS2 NOW! Oh well, I'll probably get one if it arrives over here. It's a good way to get girl gamers to buy it. They got me lol.
I hope they're not going to do what they do with mobile phones lol. Crazy.

The reason they're releasing it now, is to make a little bit of money over the Christmas period. It's basically a little way to grab a few extra bucks, hoping that the PlayStation 3 will sell too. I think their plan is a little bit week, but on the other hand, I suppose loads of people won't be buying the PlayStation 3 now that it's been delayed and held off for so long, though.

My PS2 has a green top and a black bottom. It's customized, yo. =D
AKA Modded. >.>; Did it myself. =D So my PS2 is like no other PS2s. They sell a lot of different shells for PS2s at different colors that people can put on themselves.

I like the look of the Slim PS2's, they look more "clean" to put it in one way but the colour Pink makes the console looks terrible, the pink PS2 is obviously for the female gamers out there(It sounds sexist but it's true...think about it..).
It's a good idea of SONY I guess but not for me.

Though the colour is a tinsy bit too queer for my taste it is a good idea, about now all the people who never bothered with a console or couldn't afford it will probably be buying them so they would be making a bit of cash. Also what happened with me when the old playstation was this old I brought one of those Ps1's (which got me into the FF series) so when the PS2 came out I wanted it straight away hence I started saving, would be suprised if others end up doing this.
PS: I think rather than adding completely new consoles they should make it you can customize them like Piro said, but properly. But black does the job for me.

Yeah, having the option to customise your PS2 is a lot better than having to buy a completely new console all together. You could make it pretty like a cell phone or what not. It would be cheaper plus you could change it whenever you wanted lol. I like that idea. I kind of hope they're not going to bring out a heap of different coloured PS2's.. that would be really stupid.
I'll have the pink one though! Lol.

they are releasing a pink ps2 and pink ds lite for tickled pink week only, tickled pink is a breast cancer awareness fund. so don't be expecting different colours ^_^

Owning a pink PS2 would be ace! Imagine your friends walking into your flat after a late friday night drinking binge for a round of Soul Calibur/Tekken/etc, spotting the PINK PS2 and going "WTF?!?"
That situation alone makes it worth owning one. |
