As for the chip, you can normally find one in the services section of your newspaper. Or you can buy them online making sure you get a good one and installing it yourself. A chip can be well worth the money if you want to play games of every region on the one console. Especially since a lot of games are cheaper imported. Plus there's more you can use. Downside? Well a void warrenty. Hope this helps you.

Thank you! I'll try that out. The only bad thing I can't install anything. If I bought one of those chips, can I just bring it to a store for them to install it for me? I went searching for what the chip was, and lots of results came up for a mod chip. Is that right?

No one will install mod chips on consoles in stores. Opening the system voids the console's warranty, so dealers don't want to be held responsible if anything goes wrong with your system. The only way to have a chip installed is to either do it yourself, or find a friend who's already done it and is willing to do it for you.

Are they copied by any chance?
If that's the case, you can't use them legally, and I'm NOT going to relate how to use them. That would be immoral. Or they could be the wrong region... Like if you bought them on ebay. Oh and sometimes the lasers go bad, or just out of alignment. If that's it you might want to get it professionally fixed. You could do it yourself with a little background knowledge, but I'd recommend getting a professional to do it, if you have no idea on how to fix it.

Fur's right, things go haywire at times and internal things brake. It all depends one each individual system. Sony's selling a white PS2 cuz third party game companies seem to still be making quality games. So if you need a new one, they're plentiful.
PS3 news, if you still want one with backwards capabilities. 60 gig harddrive ones are being discontinued in production. They're the only ones left with that ability. Some online stores are already sold out and whatever is in stores will not be replenished except existing shipments. 80 gig ones are being pushed and 40 gig ones (whenever they come out) don't have that capability. Good luck finding a 20 gig, there's almost none to be found. I'm sort of lucky, yet not really. I bought a 60 gig 2 weeks before the price drop. It broke, but got a replacement from Sony with little hassle except for the wait. So Sony really stands by their warranty.

first you have to have a wireless router.
Then you have to configure it. Then you just connect to the wireless network. Don't post anymore here. If you have any questions, PM me.

Don't listen to Naota. He's right about the wireless router thing, but you don't have to stop posting here and PM him only.
The steps are these: 1. Navigate to Network Settings. 2. Configure for Infrastructure Mode. 3. Scan for an access point. (Which would be your wireless signal with your router. Whichever SSID name you gave it.) 4. Select said access point and insert the WEP key. 5. Test the connection and you should be able to connect. 6. Done! |

Merging this with the console help thread, i'll leave a permanent redirect so other people can search it without going into the help thread.
Also, don't tell people to stop posting unless you have the authority to, thats what the moderating staff are for.
