What is your favorite RPG of all time?

I must say Final Fantasy VII, it's so perfect. The girls is Err, fappable. The boys is cool. The adventure and the missions is great, yea basicly the story rules. 7 characters 8 included aeris, Switch to train, buy items/materia to upgrade your chars. Yea it is and it's going to be my favourite for a long time.

And also, can't forget Kingdom Hearts. (no-one particular) It's a very good strategy game, and the adventures rule. I don't have it though but i've played it before it rocks my socks xD

FFVI obviously, but I liked most of squaresoft games. Secret of Mana, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger etc. I also liked Lufia, Breath of Fire, Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, and the Dragon Warrior series.

my favorite RPG has to be either kingdom hearts or kingdom hearts 2. the battle system is one of the most realistic i've ever seen, and the stories in both games are really good. these are some of the best games i've ever played, and i cant wait till kingdom hearts 3 comes out.

Has to be final fantasy X!!! Great storyline Great characters. I like it how you go from temple to temple to get aeons. But I especially like it because of....BLITZBALL!!!! The graphics are the greatest as well.

I like the Zelda games, and the Final Fantasy games, Golden Sun had a nice story with a good battle system, I liked Sword Night: Summoncraft Story(not entirely sure about the name) and, basically the reason I'm on this forum, is the great Kingdom Hearts games.

As for my favourite RPGs...

Fallout 1 & 2

I can't rate these 2 games highly enough. Superb in every way. The ability to do whatever the hell you wanted in the game was probably its biggest perk, i never got bored of buying a gun off someone and killing them for my money back =D. The character customisation early in the game was fantastic aswell, especially for a game as old as this, you had perks (given every 3-4 levels), traits (chosen at the start), stats ((strength, dexterity etc) chosen at the start but could be boosted by perks/items) and skills (stuff like Small Guns, Melee, Steal, Lockpick, Doctor, boosted by getting level ups and spending points on them).

The wide array of potential end-game weapons was awesome aswell, pretty much any path through the game was possible, like i did a melee only game (which was heaps of fun), people have done throwing weapons only, small guns only, pistols only. Lots of options = lots of fun, plus some of the death animations were awesome. =)

Diablo 1 & 2

Fantastic series, i think most people would agree. Lots of choice in the game and some major replayability factors. The two were quite different, with Diablo 1 being more condensed, the items were less random (lots of suffixes/prefixes in d2) and the fact it was offline made it harder to add patches/updates. Diablo 2 was truely fantastic though, it rates highly in my top 10 (behind fallout =p). The multiplayer was awesome, especially if you had friends who played it since random people joining games can get annoying (especially if they're assholes =D). Most people know the perks of this series, so i won't go into it.

X-Com: Apocalypse

While its not completely an RPG, more of a Strategy-Rpg, its still an awesome game. The RPG parts, i would say were the combat sections, where as the strategy parts would be patrolling the city/building your base/researching/engineering etc, which was a massive part of the game. The ability to choose between real-time and turn-based combat was a nice addition, since in the older X-Com games the combat situations took a while with purely turn-based. Even though i rate Fallout highly (turn-based), i believe they got this one right by allowing real-time (you could pause the game with space bar, this allowed you to do a lot of things at once with just a small squad of people).

FF8, 9 & 10

This may annoy some people, but i really hated FF7, it bored the hell out of me. FF8 kept me amused for a really long time, the idea of Guardian Forces and the storyline behind them was good and really added a lot to this game. FF9 was different for me, i don't normally like games with main characters like zidane (i'd class him as a childish character, most of them are come to think of it), but the gameplay was good so i enjoyed it a lot, although i can't remember much from the game itself haha. FF10 was by far my favourite FF, despite playing some of the earlier Nintendo ones and the PSX remakes. The sphere grid was a genius idea (especially on the EU version where you got an advanced sphere grid, allowing maximum customisation options for all your characters), the storyline was good with lots of plot twists, just how i like it and the ended was one of the best i've seen in a game to date... even to this day i haven't seen a better ending. Tidus, however, was an annoying character... i'm sure the game could have been better with someone else as the main guy.

As for a top rpg list, if i can think of 10 games right now (it's 2am)...

Boring list i guess, but i really can't think of any other RPGs that effected me as much as the above 7, i hope that changes with time. I have high hopes for 2 games coming out, Hellgate: London (made by the old Blizzard North guys that made the Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft series) and Darkfall, made by a bunch of norwiegen guys =D, hopefully they live up to my expectations and i can add some new games to my list to make a top 9!!

*Here we go... Its so obvious what my favorite RPG is,its the reason why im in this site!............."Final Fantasy" duh!

I think Final Fantasy is the best RPG in the present,I would really like to play all the series but sadly I havent,the list be3low concits of the Final Fantasy games Ive played some are not present because naturally I havent finished them yet,Im still in the process of beating the game.....ok scroll down to read

*Final Fantasy-I in the beggining there were four warriors destined for greatness,they battled evil and triumphed!peace and prosperity reigned the land once more....well thats the Final Fantasy-1 summary...hehehe ok ok down to bussiness,Final Fantasy-1 was the first RPG game i ever played back in 1995 or so....,at first i didnt like it because i didnt know how to play it,then eventually i got used to the controls and couldnt get my mind out of the game.all i can think about was leveling my characters and becoming stronger,i was soooo addicted to it back then,times passed and the consoles evolved,new games were made and better Final Fantasy games came out...but i still seek for that originality,that authenticity,the slashes and hacking,spell casting and brawling....hehehe so i played it and finished it over and over again.You know If i still had my nintendo today id probably play it again *_*

*Final Fantasy-II this game was good in terms of graphics,game play and new ideas at its genre,I find the games story to be more intense with big plots....i really had fun making my characters into walking imortals b y pummeling each other and leveling magic by casting at my guys.it was a unique way of getting stronger,for most games youd have to slay a dragon or something to gain power,but in Final Fantasy-2 all you have to do is abuse your party hehehe I also liked the characters and the sub characters,just wish they didnt have to die or leave the party.

*Final Fantasy-V This game I really really like,I think it has a great system,less characters but wider varieties of jobs/classes to choose from and the best part...more skills to acquire and master!This brings me to the customization of the characters you want to build,there are sooo many combinations of skills for different kinds of enemies and situations!I had lots of fun playing this game!I wish theyd make a 3d version of it!

*Final Fantasy-VII Wow!the First 3d Final Fantasy game!and the greatest in my opinion!With a better focus on the Characters,their fighting styles,Limit breaks,magic skills.the game has it all!with the addition of the greatest villain in the history of video games,Lord Sephiroth,the game conquers all even those in higher consoles...It trully is a game worthy of the name Final Fantasy!Wow!

*Final Fantasy-VIII Behold the power of Summons and Limit breaks!because this game is all about them!The game offers awesome graphics which no other playstation game can offer...well maybe Resident evil but....still Final Fantasy-VIII blows your mind with the special effects of Summons and their power to cast elememtal attacks!I really enjoy unleashing the Characters Limit breaks,especially Zell's,its more challenging than picking slots like Tifa's Beat Rush!In the game you can now appreciate the beauty of women like Quistis,Who I think is a total hottie!the game is very cool!

*Final Fantasy-IX Now I think they made this game with the original shorty versions in the SNES right!only thing different is the graphics are bad ass!I really like the Summons in this game especially Ark,hes like a transformer only not!hehehe Now what i really enjoyed playing in this game was the Chocobo treasure hunting!without the use of cheats or help from the net i managed to gather all the treasures!it was fun finding the spots and being disappointed when i dont!hehehe I think the coolest character here is Amarant!With knuckles for weapons and ninja skills,hes a cool killing machine!The game is awesome!

*Final Fantasy Tactics Now I would trully agree if somebody said that this game is a masterpiece!like Final Fantasy-V it offers more job/classes and a wider variety of skills to get!Now in this game I didnt care much for the story,all i wanted was to battle and master all the skills.then when masterd I would try different combinations!My favorite combination is a Monk,combined with the throw skill,he becomes a lethal long ranged and melee warrior with healing and reviving abilities!I really love playing this game over and over!Soon I would imagine the game to be in full 3D and with lots of surprises!Ooooh i cant wait!!!

My favorite RPG of all time is Final Fantasy X without a doubt, like I said many times. Final Fantasy X is well known for its soundtrack (especially Suteki Da Ne), gameplay, and having a contiguous world exploration. However, it was met with mixed reactions at the time of its release. Final Fantasy X is without a doubt Square Enix's best work of art.
