Smash Bros. Characters

So, I was discussing this with a friend the other day. The new Smash Bros. game is coming up some time... in the next year? And we were discussing who the new characters might be. Like, who we wanted to be in it, and the probability of them being in it, as well. We couldn't really think of a lot of new characters who had a great deal of probability of being in it, however, as per most of Nintendo's flagiship characters were already in the last one, right?

Anyhoo, he thought maybe Wario and Waluigi (Mario's series) would be in it (or he wanted them to be, anyway.) I wouldn't really care either way, however, and as another friend pointed out, there were already like fifty million Mario characters in the last game.

I suggested Krystal and Wolf O'Donnell from the Star Fox series, and Meta Knight from Kirby's series. He agreed with both the Star Fox characters (although at first he didn't realize who Wolf O'Donnell was; he said "it'd have to be a main character," and then later on he said "that Star Wolf guy would be cool," and I was like "you mean Wolf O'Donnell?

" He thought Meta Knight would be too obscure a character, however, and that no one would know who he was. I also mentioned that people were wanting Ridley (Metroid series), but he thought that Ridley would be far too big to play as, and would probably only show up as a boss. I agree with that, actually.

Those are the characters we discussed the other night. Thinking about it more, however, I could probably see King Dedede in there (Kirby; although I wouldn't really care either way). I also think that Magikoopa/Kamek from Super Mario World/Yoshi's Island/Tetris Attack/Super Mario RPG would work, and would be pretty cool, too. Although that's another Mario character... but he could also count as a Yoshi character, I suppose.

Anyhoo, I'm tired, so I can't think of anyone else. Can you? Also... I suppose... this could be a general discussion of the Smash Bros. Characters, too, or something. Like who's yer favorite/least favorite character to play as? You all should know by now my favorite is Fox. I also like playing as the sword-carrying characters, and Ganondorf, for some reason. Even though he's friggen' slow (he's powerful, though. And cool.) My least favorite is Donkey Kong, however, because he's so friggen' slow, and a lot of my strategy is based around the speed of my character. I play as Pichu sometimes, but I also think he was one of the worst clones the chose. Jigglypuff is pretty lame in general, and Dr. Mario is redundant (I hope that, if Wario does turn up as a new playable character, that he's not another Mario clone.)

Honestly, if you have Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Game and Watch, Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Legend of Zelda, Samus, Dr. Mario, Ice Climbers, F-Zero, Star Fox charactesr in there...I have no idea, honestly. That is like the basis of all gaming already =/

I would guess some of their newer Nintendo games, to help promote them maybe? What ARE some new Nintendo game/series?

Leon Kennedy ! Granted, he's not an exclusive nintendo character, but at one point he was supposed to be. I haven't really played the Smash Bros. games that much, but I could see him in there kickin ass. He's got the kicks and the suplex, so why not build from that? Occasionally he could whip out the old shotgun and go to town...

Even though I'm certain he won't be in it since he's only been in 1 game I'd still want Geno from Mario RPG in it. He played a side charcter but I liked him alot and wished they followed him through with more games. I can always hope for the best though.

They should add more Earthbound characters, besides Ness.

I really can't see any Resident Evil characters going into thatgame to be honest. They probably will put in Wario/Waluigi as they put Bowser in last time. I just hope they don't put anymore pokemon in it because anymore and pokemon will have the largest content share then any of the other games.

I would like to see Diddy Kong though!!!

Ooh, yeah! Diddy or his sister would be nice, so would more Earthbound...maybe even more F-Zero characters? No more Zelda, Mario, or Pokemon though =/

Is there really anyone else worth while in the zelda series being added???

We do need more metroid characters though, perhaps Umos from Prime 2??

I would love that too, but Square Enix owns the rights to him. They did allow Nintendo to give him a cameo in one of the Mario & Luigi RPG's, however... (can't remember which one.)

Yeah. What Pokemon could they still put in there? Maybe one from the newer ones, which I haven't played and wouldn't know about... but also, I think Mario has everyone beat on the number of characters from his games.

No clue who that is, or who those other bounty hunters are, but I thought they might be suggested. And if they were in the game, I'd learn who they were. So yiy!

earthbound character or two : )

Umos was the last sentient luminoth on Metroid Prime 2 who gave samus new places to go and upgraded her translation abilites. Though there was no actual displays of Umos' combat, there was soom cool abilities outlined in the logbook. They could include some new hunters from Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS though. Some of them look awesome
