Xbox 360 = damage to ur TV

The thing burns out faced and is ****ing up TV's see what happens when you rush a product after its not tested right.This is the truth this thing is gonna cause damage to your TV.Then Mirco is gonna have to pay millions of dollars to replace parts and fix peoples TVs.Was this thing ment to fail.

Firstly, please state your source for claiming that TVs hooked up to an XBox 360 will suffer from "burn-in" static images. Actually, I should say burnt in images onto your TV screen is what you're talking about here.

I'm dubious whether it is just the XBox 360 which can cause this - other consoles present such a problem and leaving a video on pause for a prolonged period of time can have the same effect. I should think it is because the phosphorus coating over certain areas wears away, hence, leaving a residual image. If people pause their game, leave their TV on and walk away and some kind of after-image is left then that's not the console's fault - that's the way TVs work.

Yes, there are hardware failures - a small minority have complained that their XBox 360 repeatedly crashes and it is Microsoft's duty to compensate owners of faulty machines. But, hardware problems aren't a big surprise and by no means equates the console to "sucking". I remember when the PSP came out and Nintendo fanboys cried in glee as pixel death on the screens occured for a number of the handhelds. Did that seriously harm UK launch day sales? No. If you have a hardware problem then the firm will reimburse your losses. A company of Microsoft's scale, who want to be dominant in the gaming industry, wouldn't release a product that resulted in the damage of the majority of TV sets.

I'm sure that the Xbox 360 does damage projection TVs and the like, so did every other console. They all had warnings for that in the manuals. I don't think that it damages all TVs, but definately TVs of the projection variety. I do believe that they can play on LSD TVs but don't quote me on that. This really isn't that surprising.

I don't think the situation is comparable to the release of PSP for instance. The PSP pretty much had one single error (the same with Playstation 2 and the bad laser and the first Xbox which had some problems with a certain electric component, making it a fire hazard). With the Xbox 360 it varies quite a lot what kind of problems people experience. I think that according to a teamxbox survey it was something like 16% who have experienced problems with their new Xbox 360...

All consoles can burn images into your screen, this is common knowledge and warned about in nearly every game booklet. Simple fix, if you must pause for lengthy periods of time, turn the tv off!

Anyway, games play well enough on LCD's- no damage. If a game is left on long enough on any type of CRT television, it can cause burn in damage. It's anything that has a stationary part of the picture. It's a depletion of the phosphorus coating on the screen from constant bombardment that causes this, as Winter had mentioned.

Wow, what a fanboy opinion over here. I really enjoyed your description by using the word "GAY". I'm sure your vocabulary includes other words such as "FAG" or "SHIT"; you should use them sometime. That way you can at least make some people believe that the xbox has a gender. Maybe next time you could add some reasons, rather than just foolish and useless comments.

Actually the controllers are pretty neat. I like them a lot more than the Xbox controllers, mostly because you don't have to have freaking monster hands to be able to use them comfortably. They're more the size of PS2 controllers, and I like that. And the graphics are better than the Xbox's graphics, or the other consoles of the last generation. They're aren't extremely better no. That's because the graphics of the last generation's cosoles were still pretty good and pretty realistic. The 360's graphics are just more enhanced I would say. Yeah, the bugs of the 360 suck, and if Microsoft would have taken a bit more time instead of having to be the first one out instead of the last one this time, they probably wouldn't be having such problems.

I have to say this is all irrelevant, because as a not proud owner of a 360, it's ****. Absolute cack, and there's only one game (PGR3), which has graphics that can rival the xbox, it's all a marketting scheme. Don't buy the 360! Ever!

Uh. I pretty much agree with must of you people here. Playstation is teh pwn over XBOX 360. But I do think that the controller is a nice improvment.

Actually I've played about 4 or 5 different games on the 360 and they all have better graphics than the original Xbox. Perfect Dark Zero, King Kong, Condemned, Call of Duty and one other one that I forget the name of. The graphics look more life like, they're cleaner and crisper. There IS a difference if you look. If you just take a glance though, it isn't going to look all that different, no. I do think that the PS3 is going to be better, my fiance just likes having all the consoles, even if we have to go into bankruptcy to get them lol.
