i agree about nothing from sony and nintendo are set instone! so they do have the upper hand! but once again! nintendo and microsoft did with the ps2 and they ended up being far more powerful! i will say they have pushed the 360 out fast! cant belive its also had a recall! made me .

Answer to Rikkuffx question - i think they annoced (on 360 launch date) that it will be between 300 and 400 dollars! i think! and yer the playstation can play ps1 and ps2 games! actually i think the only thing it cant play is umds! and vinyl... oh and tape bassed stuff! apart from that i think every thing else is ticket!

This probably won't be a popular thing to say, but I think the revolution will bomb outside of Japan. This could be Nintendos 'DreamCast'.
I say Nintendo should concentrate on great games and the handheld market.

As for PS3 vs. XBOX 360, hell I'd follow MGS 4 anywhere man. Go PS3!

One of the standout points that Sony makes with each new generation of gaming is that - its backwards compatible. So the PS3 will be able to play both PS1 and PS2 games with no hassles at all, and that in itself is a major point to winning more fans IMO. Could you picture playing FFVII or Chrono Trigger on your PS3? lol.

Another point that would go towards PS3 superior too; At the recent Tokyo Games Show, Microsoft and XBox (360 too) was pretty much dwarved in popularity by the PSP alone.. heh. So its not looking too good for Billy Bob now is it? atleast in Japan where most the fanatics are o.o

Yeah, I'll have to go on the PS3 side. If my PS2 isn't modded by the time PS3 comes out, I might just trade it in and put the money towards the PS3. If it is modded however, then.. I can't, heh. Just like my PSOne. That is modded and I didn't trade it in. ^^;

Besides. PS3 has Tekken 6. Though.. 360 has DOA 4. I don't know where Virtua Fighter 5 is going yet. Right now it is just in arcade, and whew... you should check it out. If you didn't know any better, you'd think their CG were real people, haha.

wow 300 or 400 is one of my whole paychecks lol,also can you play dvds on it?

Uhm.. I recommend just getting a 20$ dvd player. PS2/3s are meant for games. Sure they can play dvds.. but they wear out faster..

Just wanted to add something funny that I saw in PSM. They had pictures of TGS where they had the 360 and the PS3 booths.

It was kind of sad, but hilarious at the same time. There were tons of people gathered around the PS3 booth. Then it showed the 360 booth, where there were (no joke) four or five people.

Well I would not be surprised if they took that X Box picture at the end of the day or something to hype up the PS3, it is Playstation magazine after all. But yeah the big point of the ten that I have to agree with is the library, as I said before. Sony has so many games, it is what makes it so fan friendly, they can find anything that they want on the system. It has a little of everything and that is what makes it great. It is why I love my PS2, because all the games are there that I enjoy, plus there is tons of games I can pick from the previous PSone.

And definitely I think the PS3 will make Blu-ray popular, because it will be available. I remember watching a thing about the PS2, they said that you walk down stores in Akihabura, I think spelled right, and all there were just video games and things, but after the PS2 came out, suddenly there are DVDs all over the place. You go into a game store and there are DVD shelves too. I think the PS3 will do for Blu-ray, what they did for DVDs.

For those who might think that the PSP is doing poorly, it is actually doing quite well. But I always get a laugh out of it seeing the X Box sales. But Sony is doing pretty respectable with the PSP next to the DS, for their first handheld.

i've had my ps2 since ps2's came out and all that time i have used it for dvds too,and i am notgetting a dvd player,we have one in my moms room that came with her tv,but i will use what i want to play dvds(not trying to be mean)

Im always gonna get the PS3, no matter what... the 360 has just stuffed its image up with me... hell i would get the Nintendo over the 360! I dont care what any Xbox fan says... cause it sucks to be them (just like they would say it sucks to be a PS3 fan, but hey it rocks to follow Sony! And im not meant to piss any of u Xbox fans off, so peace )... i have heard so many negatives for the 360 and only a tiny of positives! I have also heard in many forums that the 360 is not that flash as ppl tend to make it... Microsoft should just stick to computer software...
