Chrono Trigger/Cross

Well personally, I think that these games are amazing. I liked the tech system but for the element system of somewhat lame. The stories make are complicated, the characters have creative backrounds, both games I think are great. Since i'm kind of new here I didnt see a Chrono Trigger or Cross Thread anywhere so I mae one here, and if I am wrong someone direct me into the right way . So I wanted to know everyone elses thoughts on these games and maybe what one was better than the other.

Chrono Trigger is in my opinion amazing and I consider it much better than any of the SNES Final Fantasy games. It had a great storyline, great battle system, extremely charming 2D graphics and a small, but very strong cast of characters.

Chrono Chross however I was not nearly as fond of.

It seems like only yesterday I was responded to the same exact topic. Now if only that was really true, I could say something else insanely funny.

Chrono Trigger is the better of the two. It has an amazing storyline, the characters are great and it was original. Of course, it was created on the SNES.. so it wasn't as hard for CT to be original. I liked nearly everything about the game.

Chrono Cross was still fun but had way too many characters. 51, is it? And you can only choose three in your party at a time. Lame. The game didn't go as far in depth with the characters as I would like them to have. The storyline was great.

I may be the only one who likes Chrono Cross more than Trigger.. *Dodges Knives and Hand grenades*

Yes, I know CT was/is an amazing game and deserves the title of better, (for obvious reasons) but I just fell in love with CC.

It has some of the best music out of any game! EVER. The game is so colourful! It's like eye candy throughout the whole game. The FMV at the start of the game is Amazing! I get goose bumps every time I watch it... (Same with the one from FFVIII)

I Just fell in love with the characters... I actually liked the fact that there were so many you could choose from.

My Final Team: Serge (White element), Starky (White Element), Pip (Full White Element) !!! What a TEAM!

I would have to agree with you, Chrono Cross has extremly great music, some of the best i've ever heard from most games. The storyline was very interesting because I played it before Chrono Trigger and I was completly lost. I think it is one of the greatest games i've ever played but too me, Cross just wasn't as good.

Boo.

Whilst Chrono Cross is a good game, I don't really view it as a sequel...it had almost nothing to do with Chrono Trigger. They just threw in a couple of references to CT characters and slapped the word Chrono in the title. I was just looking for more of the same ya kno? The 51 characters in CC was lame. C'mon, seriously, how many of those characters did you actually like? I'm betting no more than 10 or 15.

CT on the other hand, had the standard number of characters, and I liked all of them except Robo, and even he had good theme music. It has the best storyline ever, best battle system ever, and there were TONS of sidequests, multiple endings, and after all that, an amazing new game+ system. One thing I hated about both games, though, is how the main characters didn't talk.

And Although I hate saying this, CC's soundtrack does own CC's...but hey, MP3 >> MIDI lol.

i have never ever seen anything about this game? Can anyone put down its features and its good points and/or bad points to this. It would just make it easier you know? Anyway, what system are they on? I might buy this game. It sounds really good! I have never ever seen it in shops. Suppose everyone wants to buy it if its as good as you say.

Are you saying you've never heard of Chrono Trigger? Wow... Have you been living in a cave all your life?

Good luck finding it, the chances seem very unlikely. Concidering it is a Super Nintendo Game... (I'd suggest using an emulator).

If you're talking about Chrono Cross? You might be able to find a copy at some video game store.. It is for Play Station though... so, I'd be easier to find than Chrono Trigger but maybe a little challenging. Either way, I recommend you look into 'em! They're dandy. Like Candy.

Fun.

It really isn't that difficult for a game to be better than Final Fantasy. There are a lot of games that are way more enjoyable than it. Heck, I could name twenty off the top of my head. Not the point.

For Chrono Trigger, look online at EBay or one of those stores. You might be able to find it at a bargin bin at one of your local EBGames, Gamestops, other game stores. But good luck with that one. All else fails, do it the old fashioned way. And by that, I mean 'illegally'.

Chrono Cross is easy to find. Amazon.com or one of those sorts of sites should have it. If not, same thing as Chrono Trigger. Except it won't be as hard. Because it is PSX.

You're probably the only person on the planet that hasn't heard of Chrono Trigger. Not counting Monks. But they are monks. They don't game.

Couldn't he just buy Final Fantasy Chronicles, too? Last time I checked, they were still selling those at my local Fred Meyers... (that's an all-purpose type store, like Wal Mart, except much better.)

Snave: Chronicles was a two disk PSX set that features Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 4. Unless I'm completely mistaken... I actually owned it for a little while, but the disks were all scratched up (It was used.)

Of Chrono Trigger vs Chrono Cross... it's close, but I would probably have to say Chrono Trigger. The whole time traveling thing is just cooler to me. I also liked the development of the characters in Chrono Trigger better (they didn't just say what any other character would say at that point in the game, if they were in your party.) In Chrono Cross, I think there might've been 3 characters that I really cared about: Surge, Kidd, and Harle. Although some of those characters in Chrono Cross supplied some nice eye candy, when they were in your party...

I also liked the character designs of Chrono Trigger better, maybe. Akira Toriyama, ya know? ...I got nothin' besides that, right now.

Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger are tied IMO.

Chrono Trigger had better gameplay, characters and plot, but the plot was good but not that deep.

Chrono Cross had a much deeper plot but it didn`t come out as good as CT did. The music in CC is much better.

I guess what one game lacks, the other game suceeds in. Put both together, you have a perfect game.
