Growlanser Generations (PS2)

I bought this game in December, however, due to time consumption up to this point, I hadn't cracked it out of its factory sealed wrapper until the other night.

All I have to say is: For Working Designs to port another title...wow! Simply, Wow!

The thing is, I am not sure if Working Designs are making anymore copies of the game. If I know them any better, they'll do the same thing they've done with the others. Release em for like...a month and then just cut production outright. Have you noticed that all of their titles are worth a crap ton of money on Ebay?

Glad I got my copy of this game on the day it came out. I'm also glad I've kept my Lunar copies

I got Growlanser Generations too! ^.^ I'm still playing Suikoden 4, so I hadn't touched it either yet. Didja got the special limited package one? I did. It costed freaky 90 bucks! ~_~

I just noticed this game a few days ago on the internet and was going to get it, but yeah... its nowhere in the stores. It really looked interesting, but I'm not buying it for ungodly prices off the internet..

As far as Suikoden IV is considered, I'm not touching that game with a ten-foot pole. The third one was absolutely horrid. Between the lack of music(and what little there was, sucked) and the extensively long political plot, it was a turnoff. I still haven't finished it. I only got as far as I did because I was blaring Xenogears, Xenosaga, and FF OSTs in the background. From the reviews, IV looks even worse than III so I'm not wasting my money. ^_^

Well as i'm sure you all know by now , Working Designs is out of business. It's a shame really, as I have enjoyed WD's games going back to the SEGA CD with Lunar and Lunar 2.
Growlancer is a great series, and WD put out a great package.. they always do, looking back on Lunar and Lunar 2 reissues for the PSX. If you can find this pick it up as all of WD's games are going up in price and becoming collector's items.

Yep, They originally started out desiging business software until the programmer died. Vic Ireland then became president and started the company on portng over Japanes RPG's that no one else would translate. They originally put out Lunar and Lunar 2 as I said for the SEGA CD and another RPG called Vay, all of which are collector's items. I do beieve their website is still up if you want to take a look:

it really is a shame they had gone out of business, as a lot of really good games will never get here now because no one is willing to pick them up and translate them

x.x Futz. There are a lot of good smash hit games in Japan, too. Kinda like Phoenix Wright (hit here, too, naturally), but I guess it will have to be a smash hit for something like that to come out, especially if it's Japan-centric. Boggles the mind for me to wonder why Before Crisis didn't come here, but I guess they had to test the popularity before it comes here. Or, maybe that's a rumor.

Oh well. A lot of good older games that are left in Japan might never get here, now. x.x

Well , if a game can't get released here, i'll pick up the Japanses edition, as ususally someone has done a translation FAQ to help get through it, that's what I did with the original FF II on the NES, and i finished it with no understanding of Japanese.
