Question Buy a Final Fantasy for DS

Which FF should I buy for the Nintendo DS? I already own FFIII and I am between FFCC and FFXII RW for the DS. I like traditional FF, like FFX or FFVIII, so I don't think that FF Tactics A2 would be the right choice... And I haven't finished FFIII so I think that I shouldn't buy FFIV, since it's almost the same thing, isn't it?

Which do you think is better and why?

Thanks a lot for the help!!!

Weird, I've seen you post this in at least two other FF forums I go to, but I forget which one I actually replied to! >_<

I say wait for FFIV DS. RW is an RTS, so it's not really traditional FF RPG gameplay. The FFTA series is SRPG, so it's at least a branch of the RPG genre. CC: RoF is a more action/adventure oriented RPG, but it's worth playing (although spells are kind of awkward to cast)...FFIII if you can't wait 16days & 15hours for FFIV DS's NA release...^_^

If I understand you correctly, you have FFIII. To me it's the best strictly DS FF game (as in I'm not including IV, V and VI on the gba which are all a ton better IMO.) FFIV will probably be the best once released, but it's still more than worthwhile to finish FFIII. FFCC DS is a very fun play too with platformer elements and some nice puzzles, though I did get a tad sick of some of the voice acting. It's well worth it's price if you have the mone. FFXII RW plays like an RTS in some ways, though is quite fun if a little easy. I actually preferred it to FFXII on PS2 which I wasn't all too fond of. FF Tactics A2 is a solid game, but may be a bit harder for some if you're playing on hard. I enjoyed that myself. And though you didn't mention it, Chocobo Tales is also very fun and features at times deceptively hard minigames. They are easy at first, but later stages do require a bit of skill.

If you don't mind playing GBA games on your DS I'd advise going with FFVI, or any of them on it really. They capture the games fairly well, even if one or two did seem horribly nerfed. I'm not sure if it was my experience with Dawn of Souls or what, but after playing it, every game on the GBA felt somewhat nerfed. They still feature the same story and all, but they seem easier. I prefer them to the DS versions of the games so far, a view that may be changed with an English release of FFIV.

If you had to choose one game only, I'd go with FFIV DS, as there's every indication to me it could well be the best of these games. And stick with FFIII. It is a very solid game for the DS.
