FF7 Remake!!

I ve had a bird telling me that Square Enix are making a remake of FF7 is this true?

it's a hoax, square enix announced so themselves. it was only a teaser trailer for the ps3, nothing more. besides which i dont want them to, it will probably ruin the game. they will omit certain stuff, add a few others, and the magic that is final fantasy vii will be totally lost. id rather them start making pc versions of their games, start from ff9 and move on, i dont care

Really? Well...better that way isnt it? They cant just depend on better graphics to make the game better now can they?

yeah but like i said, they will most definitely change a lot of it. sure, it has its flaws, but we love it because it's flaws make it unique. it's bad enough they're releasing 4 ffxiii's!!

Fuzz posted about this the other day here. Its good in a way as it may have lost the tough of the FF7 we all love, but it may of been a nice thing, seeing a classic game redone with exeptional graphics. Especially if they added some extra features, like they did to FF1,2,4,5, and 6 when they converted them from Nes to PS1.

Just because SE say they're not gonna remake it, doesn't mean they won't.

They also said they'd do nothing with FF7 before the compmilkation happened. They didn't lie there did they?

I'm not saying I want them to make it mind.

I don't think it will happen. They said it will take over 300 people and 5 years to complete with all the other projects they have on their hands now. Although I do wonder what Scarlet, Palmer, Jessie, Biggs, Wedge etc look like in full form.

i dont think they will because their will be limited people to by better graphics so it would just be a waste of money (they make good games their not idiots)

No. It wasn't a teaser, it was a tech demo. Square was asked only weeks before E3 '05 to produce a tech demo to display the potential of the Playstation 3 up to that stage of production. When the tech demo was shown everyone, and thier grandmothers instantaneously assumed that Square was remaking thier beloved masterpiece. Square hasn't openly denied or admitted to a remake, so up to this point we're in the proverbial balance. Square could say one thing today, and to contradict themselves, take action tomorrow. Calling it a hoax, however, is ignorant. The Chaos Cloud was a hoax. This is the entertainment business we're dealing with, so words mean little to nothing to the audience, considering. Don't underestimate Square, but for the same token, don't hold your breath. The only thing that we the people can do, is kick back, relax, and wait and see.

I think there's enough FFVII fanboys to make a remake worthwhile for SE.

If they did remake FFVII for the PS3 i'm sure it would sell really well. I know i'd buy it.
