What do you think about all the Final Fantasy games?
This is for everyone to just talk about the final fantasy games they have played and to give a general opinion about them. Or ask anything they need to about them.
Final Fantasy I- I have the original Nes version... this game is really fun, but can be frustrating at times when you want to level up... I've never actually been able to beat it. My mom says that she used to play it all the time and beat it with 4 white mages... I dunno thats what she said. Sounds like a nice challenge. Final Fantasy II- Im not sure but I think this is the one where you raise levels by doing stuff... like getting hit raises hp... etc.. I had this on PS for a while then lost the game... I never really got into this one as it was kinda weird... dont know what to think about it. Final Fantasy III- Dont know what the Jap #3 is any idea how to get a copy? Final Fantasy IV- I think this is the one with Cecil the Dark Knight right??? Never played it looks sweet where could I get a copy? Final Fantasy V- Got it on PS along with 6. Good game. Playing it now so I dont know everything yet. Some sweet abilites. Definately different from all the others previous. The storyline is kinda out there even for FF... Galuf is from another world??? And traveled by meteor??? And if he was so good to beat X-Death how come he doesnt kick ass at the begining when you get him? Good game though Final Fantasy VI- Played it a lot when I was a little younger havent beaten it yet. Got pretty far but I was cheating... yes I cheated. It was pretty sweet though having Gengi Gloves or whatever for everyone.. and a whole lot of sweet weapons for then to hold 2 of. Gonna play it from scratch without cheating once I beat 5... Prolly my second favorite. I remember it coming out as 3 on the snes and I played it a bit when I was REALLY young but never really did much. Final Fantasy VII- Prolly my favorite FF ever. I love the storyline to this game. I remember the first time I played this game. I dont use guides my first time through. And my main party had been Cloud Tifa Aeris the whole time... Then she died. WTF. I cried like a baby. That part still makes me sad. I love the soundtrack to this game... The materia sytem worked really well... prolly my favorite magic system so far. Lots of cool characters. Final Fantasy VIII- Very enjoyable game... but I found this game to be almost too easy. the GF and junction systems were unique but I found that it made overly powerful characters... it just seems too easy when its not hard to do well when all you can do is attack at the end of the game. Prolly has my favorite mini game ever though... I love that card game. But I hated the random rule... lost lots of good cards to that. Interesting weapon ideas. Different but good storyline... Overall, a very enjoyable game. Final Fantasy IX- This was a good game, nice to be back in the middle ages I guess is what you can call it. One of my favorite characters ever VIVI!!!!!!!! This game could get real frustrating when you wanted to have everything ability wise or weapons or whatever with the whole synthesis thing, but I thought that was fun. The card game in this I found very frustrating... I guess Im just stupid I could never get the hang of it and when I did, or thought I did, well something would happen and I was wrong... oh well. Fun. Final Fantasy X- Finally the PS2. Sweet graphics and liked the voiceovers. Has one of my fav FF songs ever... To Zanarakand or At Zanarkand not sure what its called seen it as both. Good storyline but, I dont like him being a dream. That was really sad when she tried to hug him one last time and he wasnt real anymore Final Fantasy X-2- Interesting... pretty hot playing as all girls the whole time, Yuna looks a lot better in the more revealing outfit... Jobs can be fun... never really got into it enough to beat it yet... But it was a fun game. And Finally... I dont know which one but it was one of the FF on Gameboy I think that was Legends. Maybe it was the third one.. I didnt really like it at all. Turning your characters into things by eating and adding parts or whatever was weird. |

FFI - one of the best NES games out there, and one of the best FF's as well. my personal favorite, i feel it reaches the heights of the original zelda at its finest moments, and the lows of the endless grinding of dragon warrior at its lowest - still, a milestone in RPG gaming.
FFII - i LOVE this game. so leveling is done a bit different, big deal. you have complete custom control over the magic/weapon abilities of each party member. it was also the first FF with a real story, and it has you going to the depths of hell itself by the end - just as epic as any other final fantasy.
FFIII - my hacked NES cart is on it's way!! i'll let you know when i get it and beat it. i did play the first few hours and absolutely loved it. different kinds of airships, a changeable class system, and some of the best FF music to boot. i'm really looking forward to finishing this one. FFIV, V, and VI - i've never played. after i take care of III these are next on my list. (i had a genesis growing up ;P) FFVII - my first final fantasy game, and the first game i had ever played on such a grand scope. this game changed my whole world - it changed how i thought video games could be, how big they could be, how emotional devastating they could be. i was borrowing my friend's PSX to play it at the time, so admittedly i only completed the first disc... but that was all it took for my 14 year old self to be forever changed. FFVIII - i was pissed that square would have to gull to release this game on the same day as my beloved dreamcast, so i didn't give a shit about it at the time. again, i'm working on playing through all of the FF's in a row, so i'll have to get back to you... FFIX - is ****ing amazing. **** the naysayers, this game is beautiful, enthralling, and Hironobu Sakaguchi's swan song. it has more in common with the NES FF's than any game since them - and that is why i love FFIX with all of my heart. people who thought it was too 'kiddie' or whatever need to go play FFI again, and not on a ****ing playstation. get your NES up and running and play it the way it was meant to be played, you'll understand that FFIX (sans über convoluted story) is a lot like the original. i mean, come on - Vivi is a freakin FFI black mage! FFX - i liked this game. the music in the open cinematic pisses me off to no end (as well as tidus' voice acting) - but it had some unforgettable locations (besaid island anyone?), and a very malevolent evil entity. Yuna was the shit too - a beautiful summoner coming of age... classic final fantasy. it's just a hair too far from the original FF's to be one of my favorites, and their costumes were kinda out of control... but i think when i replay it after playing all the other ones i'll like it way more the second time around. FFXI - i play WoW ![]()

Well, I haven't played much of the series so I'll talk about the ones that I have beaten or just played a bit of.
Final Fantasy IV: I haven't finished this game but from what I played, I thought it was alright. The storyline seemed interesting and the characters were also pretty awesome. Final Fantasy V: This game is alright too. I played a fair amount of it but got up to a battle with someone and I just haven't been able to get passed that point. I probably didn't level up enough. The storyline was okay and so were the characters. Final Fantasy VI: Once again, haven't completed it but I really have enjoyed this game. It would have to be in my top three! The storyline is very entertaining and I really like all the characters involved. Locke and Celes are probably my favourite characters. The battles so far in this weren't too hard and I managed to get through almost every battle the first go. The Espers are cool and it's cool how your character's can learn tons of magic. The game also had a really nice soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII: Haven't completed this either. I think I played until the second disc. I quite enjoyed it, definitely not my favourite FF game. I know everyone else loves it and thinks it's the greatest game ever but I don't. It was a good game up to where I played. I was disappointed that Aeris died because she was a great character. Cloud was also an awesome character. The Materia system was cool. Final Fantasy VIII: This game I have completed. I love this game, it would have to be my favourite from the series. The storyline is very entertaining and I never got bored of playing it. The junction system was a bit difficult to understand at first but I got used to it. The characters were all awesome (except Irvine lol). They all had their unique personalities. The battles in this were a bit of a challenge at times. The ending to the game was really nice and overall, the game was awesome. It had a beautiful soundtrack as well. Final Fantasy IX: Haven't played this one! Final Fantasy X: I have completed this one as well. This would have to be my second favourite. This game was great, and it was even better because they could talk in this one. Yuna was my favourite character in the game, her personality was really cool and she was the summoner of the group. The sphere grid was a cool system to use and I enjoyed it very much. Once again, the storyline was entertaining and the characters were all unique. Kimahri was cool lol. The game had some lovely music in it too. However, I'm not a big fan of Blitzball Final Fantasy X-2: Once again, I haven't completed it but I only started playing a while ago. I think this game is pretty good so far. It's not as good as X but it's still enjoyable to play.

FF I-II Dawn of Souls: Didn't beat II yet, it is very intresting.
FF IV: my favorite of the bunch, very midevil like, got the basic classes, and very fun FF V: Hated it, didn't like it very much. FFVI: Very fun, last of the 2-D games, The story was very good, and the characters were really good to... Of corse the Villian was to.... to.... wierd, not very complex, except for the
FFVII: Another good game, the story is very good, the characters were all very intresting, there were a couple down parts to the game, but still very fun. FFVIII: The story was very good, The GF system is kinda difficult to get use to, so is the weapon system, but I would still recomend playing this game. FFIX: Probably will be the last FF game to be put in Midevil times, the story is very good, the game play goes back to the traditional FFIV and before. FFX: First PS2 game for the FF series, its very good, story and graphic wise, besides for Tidus being very....childish, everything else about it was perfect. FFX-2: It was alright, Some people hated it, but I found it ok. FFT: Very fun, very addicting....what else do you need? FFTA: hated it, worst of the FF games..... |

FFI - Fun. Played it through twice. Nice to not think a whole lot.
FFII - I hated this game. I didn't even play past the first town due to the level system. FFIII - Not played. FFIV - One of the best. I replay this one fairly often. FFV - I got fairly far, but became bored quick. Never finished. FFVI - I think its overrated, but I have played through it twice. Fun game, but I don't like the weapon distribution and the lack of better character development. FFVII - People now say this is overrated, but this is the best Final Fantasy. I have replayed through this countless times. But I still haven't beaten the WEAPON's. FFT - Love this game. Another one I have replayed countless times. I am actually playing it now to get some of the hidden weapons and beat Elidibs. FFVIII - Not as good as the last three, but still great. I have replayed through it a few times. FFIX - I like this game, not as much as the ones that surround it. I have never thoroughly gone and gotten the extras. Maybe one day. FFX - Huge fan of this game. I did everything you could do in the game - redid the Board to perfection, finished the Monster Hunt. Actually, I never got the Sigil's for Lulu and Kimahri, since they are impossible. FFX-2 - I enjoyed this game, don't care about the lack of a story. Its a nice escape. FFXI - Never played. FFXII - Love this game. I am on my second playthrough, trying to get all the Espers and finish the hunts.

This is a GREAT TOPIC!
FFI - It was fun, and totally original. But it was repetitive. but thats the game that taught me the concept of the word repetitive, so I needed to start somewhere. FFII- Didn't like it. Didn't like the battle system or the way you have to remember words. That just seemed kind of boring. I couldn't even finish it. FFIII- Never Played... FFIV - One of my favorites and the first one that I was really able to comprehend. I was a little kid, but I got it, and it was a great game at the time, and damn fun to play for hours on end. FFV- Seemed pretty cool. I liked the job system, but I never got around to finishing it. FFVI - This is my favorite Fantasy in the series. I got it for christmas one year when it was brand new on SNES. Everything, from the story to the battle scheme and everything in between was awesome. The characters and settings were bitchen too. FFVII - One of the best in the series and probably the most entertaining out of all of them. Showed us what square could do with graphics and how they were getting better and better. The game engine becomes even more polished. The materia system is easy to use and there are mini games galore. The battle system is perfect and the game is linear enough for anyone to beat, and also has enough hardcore challenges in it for any die hard FF fan. FFVIII - I thought this one was very cool graphically and visually. The movies were amazing and the plot and theme were a departure for the series. This was the breath of fresh air in the final fantasy series. It was very different from all the rest. The music was great and the battle system, well, it depends. Some people loved it and some hated it. I thought it was pretty clever. FF IX - I'm playing it right now and its very cool. It seems like a throwback to many other FF's. It has lots of similarities of all the other FF's. The graphics were top notch of the PS1 and the script seems pretty funny and clever so far. FF X - This one was amazing. Everything about it was flawless. The sphere grid level up thing was a pretty good way to shake up the traditional "level up" system. It was a cool change. The graphics are still some of the best I've ever seen, not just in this series, but in ANY video game. The voice acting was superb and the battle system was easy. Linear enough for anyone to beat, you'd be hard pressed to find a game that has so much bang for its buck. This is one of the best games ever created! FFXI - Never played. I hate online RPGs. FFXII - It just keeps getting better and better! This is visually one of the best looking games EVER! I love everything about this game. The voice acting, the script, the characters, the art design, the townspeople, everything you come upon is ALIVE. It's like playing a good book or even playing a movie. No more random battles? Finally! I love the gambit system, and if you don't, you probably don't get it. But you can turn it off if you want to. There is not one thing you can think of that the makers of the game didn't see too. If you don't like something you can change it to your accord. The most customizable FF ever, and easy and fun to play. I'm going to go play this right now.

FFI: The First, the original, the beginning of a masterpiece, I loved it. It was also my very first FF game. I love the elemental fiends. Tiamat ftw!
FFII: It was ok to say the least, not the best but ok. FFI was alot better through, I wish they used the level system in this game, to many enemies with drain properties >.< lol. FFIII: I never finished this game, but it could have looked better, 3D style? No thanks. I like the battle and boss themes through. FFIV: One of my new favorites. Definitely one of the best of the best. I never played the original version, but I love the GBA version because I can play it on my t.v. FFV: I loved it. I loved the Job system, it was fun, entertaining, and the characters all had great stories. Beware the void O_O FFVI: This is by far the best of the classics, no the very best! The Magicite feel for learning magic and Summons at the same time saved alot of time. You can get over 10 characters haha! I love Edgar, the Letcrous King XD sounds like a sorten monk I know >_>. FFVII: There is so much I can say about this, it was a fantastic addition to the FF family. OMG it was Great. Fanastic story, awesome Final Boss/Music, the characters each had their own stories, and the Materia style reminded me of FFVI. I loved it. I got it on PC too ^-^. FFVIII: Hmm, what can I say about this? It was fine, not my favorite FF game of all time but it was fine. The Draw/Junction system sucked ice. If they had put the FFV job system, or the FFVI magic system then it would have rocked. The story was to short, didn't really deserve 4 discs really. Overall it could have been better. FFIX: This is my favorite FF game! It was the most fun and exciting FF games I've ever played. The characters, the story, everything was unique, and I loved the references to its producessors FFI-FFVIII. you get to learn abilities from weapons and accesories which the best part. Overall the best. FFX: This was a great FF game, I loved it just like FFIX. The Voiceovers were so cool but you can actually feel what their emotions are, like their real. The Sphere Grid and the beautful landscapes like the Moonflow drew me into the game. I'm a sucker for beautiful landscapes. Great story, but a very sad ending, it was very epic, fantastic. FFX-2: It was ok I guess, but an all girl party with no male characters sucked. I don't really like an all girl party, no offense, but if they would have put some males in there it would have been more enjoyable. The Final Boss was great, reminded me of Sin but Vegnagun was a cheap ripoff of Sin's greatness. FFX was better then this. FFXI: I played FFXI for about a year but it was to demanding like a freaking chore, and it got very boring. No real story, no ending, it was boring what else can I say? FFXII: Sucked, I hated it, The story put me to sleep, this game ruined the classicness of the FF's I loved, and the main character had no real look about him, he could have looked better to be honest. This is actually a FF I sold back to the shop, it did'nt even deserve to be called a FF game.

FF: My first FF and by far the most difficult of them all. But it made you work that much harder and felt that much more rewarding. It was perfect in all it's respects.
FFII: I"m currently playing this for the psp, I'm not that excited to be honest. The story is a little lame. FFIII: The job system is a little weak in this one, I just recently played it for DS, never beat it though. The story went from normal rpg to crazy world jumping no sense making weirdness. I could have lived without it honestly. FFIV: One of the best, I played it tons of times for the SNES. Great story, amazing chracter development. FFV: This probably had the 2nd best job system of the series. I liked that even though this one had a crazy 3 world spaning story, it was actually FUN and made sense. FFVI: What can be said? It's amazing in all it's respects. Probably the closest thing to the original so far. The characters, the story, the battle system, the worlds. All fun, all perfect. Kefka was the only villain to actually do what they all set out to. Take over the world. FFVII: This was a very very fun and in depth game. It had an enjoyable story with lots of plot twists. The battle system and weapons were great. And who didn't love Sephiroth? The only downside was that this is when the FF series sold out from it's hard core crowd and attracted the "other" gamer. Thus giving it tons of popularity, but resulting in the ultimate downward slope for all future FF games. FFVIII: Weak character development, average story at best, the weapons were pretty sweet, and the magic system was interesting. It actually made me put the game down for about 2 years until finally deciding to go it one more time. FFIX: The last real GREAT FF game. Amazing story, fun characters, a neat world. The sound track for this one was probably my favorite too. This had the best Chocobo music in the series. FFX: Weak story. Weak diologue. Fun and interesting characters, I looooooved the sphere grid system and blitz ball. The villain was the world part. Seymore... not even a cool name, and he looked like a kid toucher. FFX-2: I refused to play this "game". This sad, poor excuse for an RPG offends me. The simple fact that you can class change in the midst of a fight is lame. It takes away the entire difficulty and strategy of the player, and the cheap and watered down dialogue was painful. FFXI: I never got that into it. But if i ever give up playing World of Warcraft, it's the only other option. I liked that you can start as a Red Mage, since it's my favorite class. FFT: My favorite FF game out there. I loved the difference in strategy rpg vs. regular style turn based. I loved the story and the religious theme. Also had the best job system ever. And the Dark Knight class in the new psp remake is soooo worth the effort. FFTA: It was fun, I liked the battle system and story. It was a bit childish though. |

FFIII(DS)- Initially i really enjoyed this but then started slowing down, currently on 30 hours
FFIV(GBA)- This is perhaps one of my favourites. I stormed the game and really enjoyed it FFV-(GBA)- Not one of my favourites granted, but as the series goes not bad FFVIII(PS1)- First final fantasy and RPG, definately my favourite, played it through 3 times really enjoyed it FFIX(PS1)- O.K not as good as FFVIII but still a very entertaining game, classic FF FFX(PS2)- One of my favourites an amazing storyline and great graphics played through twice FFX-2(PS2)- Not a favourite but still a nice game, that they chose to make it a sequal detracts from the experience but did fill in some gaps from X so not that bad FFXII(PS2)- Err not one of my favourites by a long shot but still a nice game in short bursts FFTA(GBA)- rather liked this game, not what i would consider a main game but it was okay
