Best final fantasy game

Yes you are right, I apologize, I was just trying to help out with some people and stop the rude behavior and in doing so I was a bit rude. and Anomaly this was the first time that I have ever commented back towards you, and Karma is a big thing of mine, damn near my whole life is based on Karma, that and a other morales. Oh, this is towards Advent Children, you did know that the year it came out it was Game of the Year, and I dont think it would be Game of the Year again, unless they do some sort of remix on it and make it better, but still then it might be hard for it to be Game of the Year.

I think Final Fantasy I, VI, and VII are overrated. I think Final Fantasy VIII, X, and X-2 are underrated. Thus I prefer the underrated modern Final Fantasy games.

To me, none of these games are "overrated or underrated" besides FFVII.

Take a second and think about this....

Who hear listens to the radio? and you hear a great band that you like, matter of fact one of their songs is playing right now.... Then around town/school/work whatever you hear people playing that SAME damn song over and over because its SO COOL...

Doesnt it make you a bit mad that they will never give the rest of the CD a chance but only play that same damn song until thier brains melt out their asses?!

This is how I view FFVII. im NOT saying that it was a bad game...

But i recall, just as you all do, what life was like BEFORE that game... back when we relied on STORY, and not the pretty colors and lights that alot of the games nowadays have. What FFVII did was bring in the white-trash/gangsta/sports-fan/hiptotallycoolkickassMEDIA into our once pure, simple RPG lives....

Again, nothing against any part of the game at all. I enjoyed it... But saying that it wasnt overrated, is like lying on your taxes. We all know it is.

actually sony brought in the white trash with the playstation - FFVII was an incredible game that gets bashed far too much just because it's the most well-known final fantasy game (in the states at least). now, maybe your beef is that FFVII finished what FFVI began - that is, taking away the castles and lush green landscapes and replacing them with... well... midgar. but this was a natural step for the series that was resolved with the lush FFIX.

i personally am that 1 guy who voted for FFI - but hey, i'm an old school junkie.

Final Fantasy IV: Fine As Is (meaning those that have played it andl iked it know its awesome and those that can't play because its too hard are normally the only ones to whine about it)

Final Fantasy VI: Fine As Is (it is a respected game, it didn't used to be during the first bit of next gen FF exposure)
Final Fantasy VII: Slightly Over Rated but MOST bashed (because some FFVI fans never grow up and a lot of FFX fans aren't.)
Final Fantasy VIII: Fine As Is (it has its fans and thats great)
Final Fantasy IX: Under rated (I have to admit I was one of the first to say FF9 sucked, but looking back, it wasn't so bad)
Final Fantasy X: MASSIVELY Over Rated (oh come ON...there wasn't even a world map!)
Final Fantasy X-2: Slightly Over Rated (only by those that bothered to play it all the way through)

I'll second that one. being that its overrated though DOESNT mean that its a bad game. We've just been pointing out, that us apparently not grown up, gamers see that all the hype that FFVII has brought is good for the industry, but its not neccasarily the best of the series.

Also, a game being underrated does not mean that it is a good game either. Final Fantasy X is NOT overrated. It garnered mixed reactions. A game with mixed reactions does not count as overrated. Final Fantasy X-2 IS underrated. There have been too many negative reviews about the game. Final Fantasy X and X-2 garnered senseless criticism and were criticized based on useless information. It is senseless to criticize Final Fantasy X for a lack of world map. That is a reason why I call Final Fantasy X underrated.

I'm impressed, it took until the fifth post for somebody to plump for that old dog FF7. Although I notice it still gets fully a third of the votes on the poll :-(

Come on FF7 fans, when are you going to wake up to the obvious fact that FF7 is not that good?! The storyline is, at best, random. The controls are frustrating (oh! if i press up on this screen i go up/left but when i pressed up on the last screen i went up/right! And why the f**k can't i use the analogue stick for f**ks sake! Aaarrggh!). And considering the backgrounds are so well rendered why in the name of arse couldn't they make the characters look human?
The film's not much better (FF7 AC); great graphics of course, but the story still makes bugger all sense.

There. Can open. Worms everywhere...

FFIX was the best in my opinion, and this was because it had a slightly happier feel to it then the others.

I'd never really greatly like FFVII, but I loved FFVIII.

IX is my favourite because of the medival aspects of it... the characters were ironic, and who doesn't love that?

I jsut throughly enjoyed this game, and I could play it again and again without getting bored.

Too bad my version doesnt work anymore. @_@;
