Threaded a million billion times.
Mine is FF IV. Characters, storyline, music, nothing has surpassed this title in my opinion. N' I've played them all aside from FF III, the yet to be released in America game.

I've always known about that as it's been talked about all over the net. In fact I think one of my friends did dl it either on there own computer or mine sometime. However I don't want some Japanese translation of the game, I want a collectors actual hard copy preferably for a console. I don't really like computer games on the computer specifically.

Well, i am going to pick Final Fantasy 7. It is the RPG that got me adicted to RPGs. I was so into the story line when I first played it. Whenever someone at school would ask me how I am i would answer as if I was cloud. Like when he was having identity issues i was really bummed out at school. Someone would talk to me and I would say, "I don't know who I am!" Yeah, i know I got issues.

I'm going to have to say Final Fantasy VIII. It was the first RPG that I ever played and got addicted to. I started playing the game and I was glued to the screen immediately. I thought the whole storyline was great. It was interesting and very entertaining. The characters were all very unique and I thought they were all awesome. My favourite character would have to be Squall because I thought his transformation from start to the end was great. It was such an enjoyable game and I love replaying it whenever I can.

I would say (the) Final Fantasy X (series). Final Fantasy X is well known for its soundtrack and battle system. Suteki Da Ne is the most wonderful song I ever heard, and then there is To Zanarkand, To the Ends of Abyss, and We Are Al Bhed, and other songs. Final Fantasy X has the best work of Nobuo Uematsu in my opinion. The world of Spira is immersive. Anothing I like is that the places are contiguous to the overworld, in terms that there is no real world map. However, that is one of the things Final Fantasy X is criticized for. Final Fantasy X has some spells such as NulBlaze and NulFrost, which were previously in Final Fantasy I. Each Aeon has an excellent summoning sequence. Final Fantasy X is original to some extent, such as Sphere Grid and Conditional Time Battle. In Final Fantasy X, you can switch party members during battle, which is something you cannot do in Final Fantasy VII. This feature was first used in Breath of Fire IV.
However, Final Fantasy X has garnered mixed reactions, especially near the time of its release. The term mixed reactions means that there are many who adore the video game very much as well as there are many who absolutely detest it. Final Fantasy X was criticized for its world continguity, linearity, controversially sounding voice acting in the case of Tidus and Yuna, and sphere grid. Its direct sequel Final Fantasy X-2 has moreso garnered mixed reactions. Final Fantasy X-2 was criticized for its status as first direct sequel to a Final Fantasy game, for its radical departure from Final Fantasy traditions and motifs, for its Charles' Angels theme, for minimalistic clothing, and for supposed overreliance on fanservice. Final Fantasy IV was my first Final Fantasy game. Last edited by Ted Zanarukando; 01-25-2006 at 11:49 PM. |

My personal favorite is FF VIII. I'm all about the serious, intense, and beautiful video games (music and movies too), and FF VIII is all of that. I don't really like the light-hearted bullshit of a lot of games (like FF V and especially FF IX), but I can totally understand why a lot of people don't like FF VIII just because it's too serious. I still love it, though.
And, Cobain, I think you're awesome for liking FF IV the most. I think that's probably my second favorite (maybe FF VII). It's the one that got me hooked. (I played FF: Mystic Quest first, but that just introduced the series to me, FF IV got me obsessed.) I'm glad somebody appreciates that games as much as I do. ![]()

The Final Fantasy X series. By 'series', I include Final Fantasy X-2. To me *both* had great battle systems. Being slow in FFX and fast in FFX-2.
I started playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance as my first FF and alway looked for other games where the summons were in 3D. I played VII but didnt like the summon graphs( I started playing it late so I expected more) . I was impressed like hell with FFVIII and FFIX summon graphics and then with FFX-whoo someone casted Aero on me. Great graphics, I always had my versions of the Aeons and my version of Shiva and Ifrit were matched (closely) with FFX's exact depictions (My Bahamut and FFX's were *too* different). I also liked the little spell and character cameos and stuff. They redid the Magus Sisters to perfection (too crazy looking in FFIV). The 'Nul' spells added too. I played lots of FF's b4 FFX and none had voice acting so when I heard Tidus talk I almost fell off my seat. No previous FFs had voices so this made FFX special. Storywise, the game was great. I never really saw a story with a mix of self-sacrifice, romance friendships, hardships, everything was put together with great effect. I was never really confused about the story (as I have been with FFVII & FFVIII) except for the Via .... uh...what was it again? The place where Yuna was ur main character. I didnt really see maester Kinoc's point or existence. In FFX2, I started to understand what Kinoc was there for. As second place, Iwould say that spot goes to FFIV until I beat FFVII and FFVIII. |
