FFVI vs. FFVII!!

Final Fantasy VII is a better game hands down. Final Fantasy VI was a good game don't get me wroung. But I just like FFVII better. It way more challenging. It has a better, and longer storyline. I don't really care about graphics.

FFVI had a good storyline aswell. But it was to short. Plus in FFVII you had more summons, and more and better magic. You had better weapons in FFVII to. Better bosses to.

So FFVII would have to be my decision.

Wow This started a debate.... Well I'm going to have to side with the FFVI fans. Both have good plots, good game play, both have some really stupid side quest, and some good ones, both have a really messed up in the head villian. So Why did I choose FFVI? because I felt that this game deserved it. Kefka got messed up in some expirment and now acts crazy (sounds like something else hey FFVII fans?) I have to say, that Kefka really did blow up the world, and well lived to see it get destroyed unlike someone else....

Actually, VI had more Magic and Summons than VII.

Okay, for me to compare II and VI is easy for me. I like both but it really isn't tough for me to say which I like more. 2 was good, it was a quick fun and easy game. I died a few times but it was an overall quick game that had a decent storyline. It was very expected and average. I think all the charcters were pretty 1 dimensional, and I just didn't feel like it had anything to make it stick out.

6 on the other hand is a wonderful game. It isn't my fave, but I enjoyed it very much. The story is very exspansive, not to mention the huge cast of characters with the epic score make it more than a great game. I like the world 6 is set in, it's very bleak and sad, which is a nice change of pace from just the regular worlds you see. 6 isn't my favorite but if I had to compare the two I wouldn't say it's a tough decision for me. So overall naturally 6 is the one I choose.

FFVII's characters were too blocky with Popeye like limbs. They should've improved on that.

I love Final Fantasy VII, without it we wouldn't have Advent Children. Man, that movie rocks!

Advent Children I downright hated, but that's just me.

VI and VII are both good games, but I favor VI more. The reasons I do are as follows:

1) With both the World of Balance and the World of Ruin, there was plenty to do. The areas changed a good deal.

2) Atma Weapon's music was great.

3) Kefka's laugh.

4) Gau, my favorite character in the game. I also like Strago, Celes, and Locke. The reason I like Gau so much is he's a more souped-up version of the Blue Mage, my favorite magic character class in FF.

5) the World of Ruin actually made me feel like I was alone in the world, especially at the beginning of it when you only had Celes. Nice touch.

6) The Eight Dragons, because I'm a bit of a dragon buff.

7) The Amano artwork, as well as brand new summons/espers. Palidor, Tritoch, Phantom, Maduin, and Crusader were all good. There are some other new ones, I know, but these stand out for me.

You know Rapps, it's funny you should mention the Popeye thing. That was what I thought when I first played VII.

Haha oops, uh sorry, I must have not been paying attention that day. Uhh well to clear things up now here goes nothing. I liked both VI and VII, but I do think 1 is much better than the other. VI is a game I could only play when i'd be in a certain mood, it's dark and it just feel slike it takes a while. I like the story and characters very much, and I think it's a good solid game. VII on the other hand is one of my faves, I think it's second best. Everything was so expansive and broad, it really felt like there was so much going on, and the characters were all so awesome, from Vincent to Sephiroth. they're both very good games, but I believe VII is the defenitely the better of the 2.

i havent bothered to read all the other posts, because i'm too lazy.. but anyway..
i think 7 is better, i could get into the game a lot faster, and make a bond with the characters, the minigames were fun, the bosses were hard enough, and it was one of those games that you just couldnt stop playing. And you couldnt help but hate Sephiroth for his evil doings, but love him for how cool he was. The materia system was easy to use, and very effective.

as for 6, i know a lot of people liked the game, and i dont have a problem with that, but when i played through it... i found it really boring, the bosses were kinda easy, i didnt like the magic system. and although kefka was an evil bastard, i just couldnt hate him as much as i did Sephiroth. and the characters werent very likable.

i know i can come up with more.. but i really cbf at the moment.. so that'll do! ;p

FFVII has much more interesting challenges. Any yeah, FFVII doesn't have a lot of good bosses. But for that matter, neither does FFVI. Maybe a bit more than FFVII, but not much.

The World of Ruin might be different and difficult, but, what is there to do? All you have is the Coliseum...FFVII has Golden Saucer!!

So...what's your point? Those awards were haded out by random FF fans. A lot of those awards are extremely inaccurate if you tell me. Let's say if all people liked FFVI just a little more then FFVII, you would get such results. Do you get my drift?

Statistics can't prove anything. You have to come with facts. In those awards, I don't see any good facts. They're mostly opinions, which makes them misleading. Tell me one feature of FFVI that is better than FFVII, and I don't want to hear the whole character/ability stuff again, it just makes me sick. Tell me something convincing...
