FF stuff that makes you sad (CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Uhh well I would say Aeris but I knew it was coming so not really.

Oh and then I'd say as the answer to the topic of this "The newer FF's lol" Cause it's a bad joke!

Well, first the obvious.. Aeris dying. I was around 10 when I first played it and I got all teary eyed at that part ><. Another one was Nanaki's petrified father. Poor little tiger thingy Jess, Wedge, and Biggs dying in FF7 was also pretty sad.. people hardly mention that. They weren't in it that long, but they were pretty cool.
Then there's Bugenhaven(however you spell it) who resembled a glow-worm.. he was an awesome old guy and Nanaki's grandpa.. poor Nanaki. Another thing that made me sad was Ramza's father dying in Final Fantasy Tactics. He sounded like a cool guy and could've saved Ramza's ass if he had lived. Hmm... Deleta betraying Ramza the first time got me down as well, damn him..

I was sad wen i thought that caith sith had died to help cloud and the others, but was happy wen he came bck and also felt sad wen i 4t zidane was dead

the end of X was kinda sad because yuna couldnt be with tidus. and for some reason i always get sad when i beat a FF game

I got sad when Tellah died, when I thought Yang died, when Kain betrayed his best friend Cecil. I also was sad when Gaulf got pwned by X-Death in FF5. When I realized I messed up in FF6 and I couldn't get shadow back, I was pretty sad about that. I think I was sad most of all in FF1 when I encountered a Warmech with my weakened and weary party by complete accident, and got totally rocked all the way back to the press start screen....

Saddest moments in FF for me:
1) Aeris' death at the hands of Sephiroth; worse was the fact that i thought Cloud was going to kill her :'(
2) Tidus returning to the Spirit World after having to kill his own father
3) Learning that Auron was actually a spirit who had given up everything, including his own life to protect Yuna and Tidus and to ensure the death of Sin
4) The ending of FFVII: DoC; i thought that Vincent had died at the end
5) The ending of FFVII: Advent Children, it was beautiful and really brought Cloud's life story to a peaceful close

To tell the truth, most of FFCC Ring of Fates was pretty sad for me, although it never really made me cry. But the one that always used to make me cry is the bit in FFIV where Cecil says to Rosa, "...but as a dark knight, you know we can never truly be together..." Most of that scene at the start of FFIV with Cecil and Rosa always used to make me cry. I got over it eventually, but when I get the DS version I'll probably be sobbing all over again... ;_;

I agree with most of what was said here. Especially about finishing the game. Whenever I do so I become really depressed and sad. But I guess that the game itself contains sadness in every aspect of its nature. You know what philosophy says: the whole existence of human beings has sadness in itself, cause we understand that we won't last for long. Anyway, what I want to say is I adore the sadness in FFs. And maybe we're also sad couse we realise that we cannot live a life like our heroes from the Final Fantasy do, and... we're just jealous.

Final Fantasy VI had alot of sad moments, like Locke's flashback to Rachel falling, Celes (if cid dies) thinking everyone is dead and tries to commit suicide.

Final Fantasy 10 is just sad all around. I always looked at that game more like a tragic movie than anything.
