A PSX title remake would be awsome. With the new blue ray discs for the ps3, they could probably fit all the content on one disc. Unfourtunately, I really doubt they'll be putting any more money into FFVIII let a lone IX. Which is why I will own a psx for years and years to come.

As for the subject, I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of remake of the older games just for kicks. I'd play it, I love the games. Not that it's necessary, but I'd imagine it would be fun.

I'd pretty much enjoy a remake of any FF game right about now. We're pretty much at the point now where if a remake of any FF I-VI would be almost a completely new game when remade on a PS3, except for the story. I think it would be amazing to see how designers would make an old SNES or NES FF look on next-gen hardware. Personally, I'd like to see the SNES ones remade just because they are old enough where they definitely need a graphics overhaul, but the stories and plots of the game are complex enough where it would still be engaging on the PS3. I would feel kinda weird playing a FFI remake on the PS3 with crazy graphics, but the game only lasts like 12 hours.

It's a pretty cool idea, no doubt about it. But I think remakes would take away some of the magic of the originals. Souped-up music would be nice, but it just wouldn't be the same... And the voice-overs might ruin my current perspectives on how the characters say their lines.

Dr. Unne (a FF1 fan) and I believe that the enhanced remakes live up to the magic of the originals. Graphics enhancements ruin a game. The idea of Wild ARMs: Alter Code F, that is remaking 2D games as 3D games, is controversial, having mixed reactions. The 3D remake would have to be done with the 2D original in mind, and under the supervision of the original version's staff. The staff of the original 2D version will ensure the 3D remake retains the magic of the 2D original. That is the way the Final Fantasy III remake is being made. If I were to see 3D remakes of 2D Final Fantasy games, I would rather have that idea happen with the NES trilogy than with the SNES trilogy, since the NES trilogy is older. Final Fantasy I and II may follow suit with Final Fantasy III on the DS. A 3D remake of the SNES trilogy may happen either on the DS or PS3. The NES and SNES trilogies are cult games, thus they are also known as the cult Final Fantasy games. A cult game is a game that has had a limited sales run, but has a loyal fanbase and raving reviews in the press.

There is a bigger demand for the PSOne Final Fantasy games to be remade than for the cult Final Fantasy games to be remade as 3D games. By popular demand, a Final Fantasy VII remake is most likely to happen.

The Final Fantasy VII remake may have an updated and arranged soundtrack, which would include orchestral arrangements and Black Mage style rock and techno arrangements. The orchestral arrangements of Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII, Aerith's Theme, and One Winged Angel would be taken from Final Fantasy VII Reunion disc, and be used in the remake. Further orchestral arrangements, as well as Black Mages style arrangements, would also be done.

The North American release of the original version of Final Fantasy VII contained a handful of grammatical errors. The North American release of the remake will contain absolutely no grammatical errors. Aeris would be called Aerith in the remake, like in Kingdom Hearts, because the name Aeris is no longer to be used.

Hmm.. I would mind them remaking a few, just to add to the collection. It also would be worth playing them over again. My old playstation games are not in the top shape as they were, taken I was fairly young when I started my admiration for FF games. So.. yeah. Playstation games were so hard to clean..

Adding voices would be cool, but reamking other things probably the games would lose the thing that they were special for. I wouldn't feel like playing the same games anymore.

Remaking the music does not cause the games to lose the thing that they were special for, and the same may go for graphics. Adding voices in Final Fantasy VII requires remaking the graphics and soundtrack. Voice-acting does not work with the original graphics of Final Fantasy VII. If the remake project is supervised by the original game's staff, as with the case of the DS remake of Final Fantasy III, the game may retain the thing that it was special for. The remake project of Final Fantasy Origins was not supervised by the original game staff.
