Most underrated FF

Final Fantasy Tactics is the most underated to me. They took a step outside the norm of what they usually do and not many people really went for it. One of the best FF games out there.

I think Final Fantasy IX is the most underrated.

Whenever I see a "what is your fave FF" thread, it is almost entirely comprised of FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII or FFX.

FFVII, FFIX and FFTactics are the three greatest, yet few people seem to agree.

i said that FF VI was the most under-rated one of them all just because i don't really hear any talk about if you had to play a FF it would be VI,

FF VI is a classic game that deserves an award...if you really ask me i think that VI got the whole FF in to Buisiness....thats just an opinion, don't state i'm wrong or anything because your not going to change it

That's weird because on ff online I saw that VI was their vote for favorite anyway I say IX is. It gets little praise from Square enix themselves and ff fans. it's always VII this, VII that!

To say that VIII too is UNDERRATED is a joke to me, if anything it's WAY overrated. I love FF Tactics, but i wouldn't call it underrated, people who have played the game know how great it truely is, plus it got great aclaim from the gaming press. VI i wouldnt say is the most underrated..just in comparsion to VII, for VI is a much better game.

I think the most underrated are V and IX. V may have had a bland story that didnt compare to either IV's or VI's, and it's graphics weren't even an improvement over IV. It's use of the job system was great though, and i really enjoyed playing this game. I choose IX because it's really the blacksheep of the ps rpgs, and it's easily as good as VII or VIII (maybe better?). Too many fans of the "futuristic" setting of VII and VIII shunned this game.

..and whoever said VII is old-school, please. VII is NOT old school. Do the math, there have been 11 games in the MAIN series thus far (not counting X-2 or upcoming XII), 7 is more than half of 11 putting putting way out of the league of "old school". V was the last true old school game, and VI marked a transition for the series that would go on till 9 brought things back to its roots before moving to the PS2. how old are people at this board anywayz?

No offense or anything that statement just sounds so ignorant, there is a lot of reg's here who are huge fans of the old ones especially VI and the people who haven't played it end up getting really interested. Plus V is the one which is least talked about and I still don't understand why people didn't like it that much, just go look at its forum.

For reasons stated in many of these posts i vote for FFX-2. I dont undertand why the game gets so highly criticized by people. Its a great game.

And FFVII should not even be on this list. Its more overrated then anything

I voted Final Fantasy VI.

Despite the headache-giving graphics and whatnot, it's actually got a fantastic storyline. The characters were pretty good (of course, within exception of a few of them. Heh! )

I just don't think people give it enough credit.

Yazoo's Shadow, make a RELEVANT post. Its okay to say FF7 is overrated, but you ignored the topic.

Most underrated FF is probably FF9. It comes between the Nomura Series (FF7, FF8, FFX) and features a totally different look than its previous two games. Rather than a sworded loner for a main character, you get someone who thinks he's a slick player and uses daggers. The world is very active compared to the two previous games as well.

Its usually passed over for being:

A. "The characters look cartoonish" (Boo-hoo. People who state this should grow up.)
B. "I can't make Steiner into a White Mage." (Hooray, characters remain Unique and individual rather than copies with a slightly different attitude.)
C. "The game isn't serious enough" (Betrayals, Wars, Finding Purpose etc. It doesn't give off such a serious feel, but there are some deep concepts)
D. "The game is too complex" (Go play FF8. After Disc 2, throw away FF8)

ffVII to me.....lol just kiddin....ffx-2......the game has some probs...like being too easy...too small....but is not so bad as its said....sincerly i prefer to play ffx-2 to ff9....(but i think ff9 is extremely underrated too.....lol...)
