Most underrated FF

Final Fantasy I thru VI are cult games, and they are known as cult Final Fantasies. The word cult in this sense means "enjoyed by a small, but loyal fanbase" or "that has had a limited sales run, but has a loyal fanbase and raving reviews in the press."

Final Fantasy games after VIII were met with mixed reactions around the time of their releases. It has been predicted that Final Fantasy XII will have a warm reception, not mixed reactions like Final Fantasy X-2 has had.

Firstly why did people struggle with the FFVIII battle system? It was quite good. Secondly i think V is the most underrated... look at the empty forum, I enjoy that game the most out of the Cult ones and I will mostly likely play it many times more, the job system was great and the story was done well, though slightly forgotten. On a side note I think FFIX is underrated by the newer generation, its not exactly the cult ones but it was still a good game to play with a fairly in depth story. The only reason I got put off with x-2 was because of the whole japanese pop thing and the dress system didnt seem as fun as on FFV but thats just me

I've been to several FF forums and from what I've noticed is that the older games tend to get pushed to the side simply because they're old. I personally love FFIV, but when I mention it to people on other forums they tend to respond with an adittude that would best be desribed as "meh".

I know that games like X-2 and VIII are good games, but getting a pop culture backlash doesn't equate to being underrated. FFIII, IV and V are way underrated in my honest opinion.

As for the cutely deformed characters in IX, I always thought of them as 3D versions of the old school FF sprites.

Final Fantasy IV is my first Final Fantasy game ever. The older Final Fantasy games have garnered limited sales figures, but they have a loyal fanbase and raving reviews in the press. ffx-2,for the following reasons:

only three playable characters

the sphere-hunting idea was pretty stupid

no world map(10 didnt have one either but it was a great game at least)

lame storyline(i don't know why some people liked it)

AND NO SUMMONS FFS!!!This was a BIG downfall reason for ffx2,you only got to kill them

therefore,ffx would've better without the sequel,but square had to ruin that of course,and now they're tampering with ff7

Er...MaGuS...the topic is "Most underrated FF" not "Worst FF" or "Most overrated FF".

First of all, In terms of American releases, FFVII is easily the most underrated FF. MOst People didn't like Squall( I don't know why because he and Cloud are my favorite characters). Others didn't understand the Junction system, or just didn't like it. I personally like the junction system because it gives a new twist to the game, and in the end can make your characters ungodly. To be honest, You would have to be retarded to not understand it. The story was great and the sidequest were awesome. GF summons were wonderful and fighting Omega and Ultima weapon is something I look foward to everytime i restart a new game. It is easily the most underrated.

FFX-2 is a fun game, but is really quite gay to be honest.It is highly overrated. FFX is excellent in everyway and is not overrated at all. FFIV is another underrated, but I can see why some people didn't like it.

Seriously, my vote goes to the great FFV. Its a great game, even compared to FFIV and FFVI, I think.

i voted for X-2 i cant think of any reason why even though it had a few good scene my favorite was 1000 words

Personally I think FFIX was highly underrated. Sure it seemed a little bit kiddish and the characters seem weird, not to mention that it was released when the PS2 came out, but overall its a great game and its a shame that its underrated

IX is VERY underrated in my mind because i read on some forums that its the worst one and such but i think its one of the best
