They ****ing hurt.

I've gained three of them in the past week. I guess it's true when they say "bad things comes in threes" or whatever. The first one I stupidly badly burnt three of my fingers on my right hand (the hand I use for everything) on my hair straightener.

The second one came two days later, on my left hand, from a hair straightener again. Only, my sister did it that time.

The third one is the dumbest of them all. I sat on a burning hot 10c coin (it had been left on the passengers' seat of a car in the sun) accidentally and burnt the top of my leg. There is a nice 10c coin shaped burn on my leg. If you look closely enough, you can make out the Queen's face.

So, to turn this into a topic, does anyone else have any rad/dumb/awesome burn stories about themselves/others? Did it turn out in a sweet pattern or picture? etc.

I suppose the last time I burnt myself was making a pizza, or something while I was drunk. I grabbed the thing out of the oven, using a mitt, but I held it for too long and it burnt the mitt and caught on fire. Youza! Didn't hurt after, just in the moment so I didn't burn it too badly. Probably just felt heat more than anything. Now I have a hole in my oven mitt though.

Flat Irons are Evil. Try stepping on your flat iron barefoot, with your full weight. -_- that ****ing hurt. Other that that one time though, I don't burn myself too much. My worst burn was from a microwave incident. I don't remember what I was microwaving, but for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to see if it was hot by rapidly touching it. Bad idea, it hurt so bad. It wasn't one of those burns where it hurts really bad for like 5 seconds. It was burning and throbbing after. I guess I literally cooked my finger. To make it stop hurting, I had to put my finger under the running water for like an 30 min. if I tried to take it out it would burn really bad.

I'm pretty careful around things that get hot, so I don't really have too many exciting burn stories to share. I did recently spill a pot of hot coffee all down the front of myself.

The restaurant were I work at has big coffee makers that sometimes get plugged up from some of the coffee grounds that get caught in the part where the hot water and coffee brew. I tried to pull out the part where the coffee was getting plugged up (Yeah, I already know it was a dumb move on my part), but I must have pulled too hard because the next thing I realize is that there is hot liquid spilled all over me. I was so shocked by how hot it was that I just stood there, and then I started to cry. One of my co-workers took me to the kitchen and dunked my foot and my hand in a big bowl of ice water because those two body parts got the worst of it. My foot got some pretty nasty blisters as a result of the burn, but my hand just turned red for a little while (which went away after a couple of hours). This happened like a week ago, so I still have some marks on my foot where the blisters are trying to heal.

I think it's going to scar. I put some Neosporin on it, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Second i think you should just stay away from hair irons altogether haha sounds like you have bad luck with them.

Well i have had plenty of burns on either ovens, stove, soldering irons, irons, hot baking trays, lighters, and the best of them all magnifying glass hehe i used to have fun with them when i was young burning everything. When i was younger i reached into a fire and tried to pull out a glowing coal because it was pretty haha.

I don't think i have ever had a real serious burn but plenty of little ones.

The worst burn I ever had was a rope burn. You know those long ropes that hang down from the ceiling in physical education halls? Yeah... getting up it was simple. I got to the top, and didn't know how to get down. So I kinda... slid a little. My hands were sore for a few days, and the inside of my leg fecking killed when I was walking. Luckily, no scars or marks. o_o

In the middle of summer, I got into a friends car, and grabbed the seatbelt. The seatbelt hook thing is metal, and if it was any bigger, you could have fried burgers on it.

Last night, I was washing up, and had my headphones in. The headphones make a difference because you can usually tell when the water is about to get hot because you can kinda hear it. Anyway, I stuck my hand under the water one minute, and it was warm. The next time I did it, it huuuuurt. The in-betweens of my fingers still feel sore this morning.

Ohh yeah. And there was this time my nan left the gas cooker on in the kitchen - she is half blind, and didn't see the tiny flame that was still there. She put a try from the oven on top of it. Just little than an hour later, I went to wash up... and picked the tray up because I thought it would have cooled down in an hour. I got the cold tap running, and using the oven glove I chucked it in the sink - the steam that came off that tray... x__x

That left blisters all over my fingers, that looked like they were going to scar badly. You can barely see anything on my hand now.

Ive afew burn scars, several from the iron up my arm one on my leg where i dropped the curling tongs and one on the inside of the wrist when I was pulling a pizza out of the oven and the metal rack thing got me

Also the steam offthe kettle has had me afew times and blistered. My ear got straightened once, my amte was doing my hair and i stupidly moved my head, stood on them afew times and burnt my head a few times on them and the curlers, the curlers are the worst for it though

Ohhh Ive a massive burn scar at the top of my arm when i put my curling tongs down then my phone rang, so i leaned over the chair and across the stupid curlers. I blamed the idiot who rang me of course >_>

I've been able to avoid burns for the most part. When I was a younger kid, I was climbing on counters and tables and stuff, you know, normal tarzan stuff that kids do, when I put my hand on one of those stoves that happened to be on. That really hurt lol. Right after that, my mom and I had do drive somewhere for like an hour and a half and since it was in the middle of December, I had my hand on the window of the car the whole time to cool it off. I think that was my worst burn I've had.

I was also drunk and fell asleep outside of a pool during the fourth of July, which caused my whole body to get sunburnt really badly. It was difficult to sleep for about a week, but it wasn't too bad.

I have a scar from a burn on the back of my wrist. It hurt like hell when I got it - in school, Home Economics, I burned my hand on the cooker. I wasn't aloud out of class, or allowed to rinse it under a tap or anything - I had to sit there for two hours in pain. I was eleven at the time.

In all honesty, it wouldn't have scarred if I had been sensible and left it alone. Instead, I decided to pick it when it scabbed, and voila - a nice, big scar.

I've got another one on the tip of my left index finger. I think that one involved boiling water, all over my hand and leg. I'm lucky I only got a small thing on my finger.

The only burn story I have was probably around 1 year ago.
I was just having some tea like any Brit and suddenly the table lifted up into the air and the scolding hot tea flew up into the air and all down my body.

Now your probably wondering right now "How the heck did the table fly into the air?" and the answer is my niece's and nephew, they were having a great game of hide and go seek and one of them hides under the plastic table I was leaning on, then when my other niece comes and finds my nephew and niece, they jump up and the tea goes up with it.

It didn't scar at all but the pain was intense, my brother and my mum both started washing me down with cold water and applied ointment to my burn. It was gone completely in only 2 day's which was good!
I now despise my sisters kids... I already did but now even worst, it's hard to be a uncle to 3 horrible little kids! I bet everyone has that problem with a cousin or something right?

Yeah, I sat on it, haha. It was lying on the car seat and I was wearing shorts. I didn't notice it was there when I jumped in the car until it burned me

Umm..i rather have a stupid burn story.Well when I was in seventh grade,when I got home from school.I had the most dumbest idea that when a car is turned off,the lighter(or whatever it is)didn't work.So I got in the truck and I pulled it out and stuck it to my finger.Yea,let me just say I learned my lesson.Go ahead call me whatever you want,I have already been called dumbass and everything.I know like wtf..but really idk.

Alright kiddies, I've had three burns in recent memory, but only one required medical attention.

It was a crisp winter afternoon in January of 2008, and it was lunch time at my school. I had a few options as for what to do, so I decided to heat up a cup of ramen noodles and go eat in the grill with my friends. So I walked to the school office (called the cottage because it's also a small lounge), got some water from the water tank, and heated my noodles up to almost boiling perfection. I made it out the door and down the sidewalk ok, but sometime during the walk toward the grill, I managed to trip on the flat sidewalk. Noodles. Went. Everywhere. Namely my right hand. Holy Mother of God it hurt like hell. I sprinted to the bathroom to run it under cold water, where it turns out to have been hot enough that I had blisters, and at least one had popped. It was a failtown. I went back to the office to get some first aid, and instead of calling home like anyone with a brain would've, I sat through the rest of teh school day. I spent my 18th birthday at the doctor because the Urgent Care guy I saw the night of the burn was an idiot. I'm really glad it didn't scar though, somehow I'm really lucky like that.

My other two burns were about two weeks ago, one day after the other. I was pulling something out of the oven and forgot the top rack was still out when I went to shut the bottom rack, my arm nailed the hot oven rack. The next day I was taking a mini pizza out of the oven, went to push the oven rack back in, and missed, so my thumb brushed firmly against said hot ass oven rack.

I've been burned a number of times, too many to really go into detail. Only one or two have left scars, but I couldn't tell you which which ones they were. About 90% of the time, it's been from doing something klutzy, like Joe has done.

The absolute worst time was when I was 10 or 11. We were roasting marshmallows on a fire, and well, my marshmallow caught fire, so I blew it out. I waited a few seconds and popped it in my mouth. Turns out the marshmallow wasn't quite put out, and I had a flaming marshmallow stuck to my upper lip for a fraction of a second. There's no scar, thank god, but every now and then my parents will bring it up and get a good laugh. Scariest moment of my life, but I got to eat a shit ton of ice cream that night.

Cooking professionally since I was 18 obviously will lead to numerous burns.

A few of my worst have been:

I was searing fish on a flat top (searing requires extremely high heat and a decent bit of oil to keep the protein from sticking) and plopped down a piece in a big pool of oil, the oil splashed up and over the back of my hand and up my forearm. I had 9 blisters a few hours later.

A chef I worked for took some meat balls with an on-the-fly sauce and threw them into the oven in a saute pan, and pulled them out a few minutes later, tossed some wine in the pan and threw it on a burner and let it fly on high to reduce down the wine. A few minutes later, in the heat (no pun intended) of the situation, I grabbed the pan handle bare handed to flip the pan around to keep it from burning. I held onto it for at least 10 seconds because I had it away from the burner and didn't want to drop the pan and lose the dish. The stupid part is I even told myself "Eh, it's probably not hot enough to need a towel, he just threw it on a few seconds ago."

Another would be.... a different chef I was working for came onto the line to bail me out and started getting in and out of my oven, and I had to keep dodging the oven doors. He was in my way the entire time, and I was backing up to throw something in a hot box next to the oven, and as I turned around he opened the oven door, right into my arm, searing the piss out of it.


I've also gotten a ridiculous number of quick little burns over my fingers from hitting racks on an oven or broiler.

Last time i burnt myself was at bootcamp we were shooting a target and once we finished a buddy of mine put his gun barrel on my arm and burnt the shit out of me...I got over it though everyone gets hazed in the Marines...

I'm pretty sure I've burnt myself far too many times to explain all of them.

The worst was probably as a kid, when my mother dropped an iron on my back. xD I had that pointy iron shape in my back for quite a time.

It's happened a few times working at McDonald's. A fry basket fell and by reflex I stuck my arm under it to stop fries going everywhere, which burned about fifteen tiny parallel lines into my arm. Another time there was a bit of a rush, and somebody dropped a fry basket waaay too fast, and hot oil pretty much splashed all over me, resulting in a shittonne of tiny little burns everywhere.

Most recently I pretty much melted my pinky finger. I'd grabbed a tray out of the oven, but my pinky had missed the tea towell I was holding it with. I'd held it there for so long that my finger was literally stuck to the metal and I had to rip it off. Throbbed for days, and I still don't have any feeling in one side of that finger.

I haven't burned myself in a long time. Last one I remember though was back in August of 08. I just got done smoking a bowl with a friend that had some pills grinded down and sprinkled on top of it. Then I took more pills and my friends left. It was like 3am and I pretty much was floating and felt hella good. Anyways I was boiling some water and when I went to drain it out I just was so relaxed I spilled some on my hand.

Haha, being a pyromaniac myself I <3 lighting things on fire. I have a burn mark I got a while ago from holding a lit fire work in my hand, like a hand cannon , actually 4 months ago and only started healing last... think its a scar...

and when I was little (about 10) I had a candle and burned everything in my room that I could... even a nickel... half turned black... from that day my mom doesn't let me have candles in my room little does she know I burnt a pencil just untill it was only lead, metal and eraser left
