This might sound really stupid to some, but I'm going to ask it anyway. If you had been in an accident, and while running routine tests at the hospital, checking any problems you might have from the accident, they found other health issues...... How do you think you would react? Would you be thankful that the accident happened and the unknown problem was found even if it could be worse than your actual injuries? Or would you be upset over everything or even angry that it happened? I know that many say that if there were ever anything really seriously wrong with them, that they wouldn't want to know. Maybe some have already experienced something like this, if so, please tell your story and how you felt. I myself have and am experiencing it right now. And I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am that I was in my car accident. If I hadn't been, then I would have never known about a couple of issues that I am facing right now. Personally, I feel that everything will come out just fine, but there is always that chance that it won't. But I'm not angry at the person who turned in front of me when I was going 50 mph, I am very thankful. Not only because of what has been found and now going through the process of checking things out, but I'm also very thankful that he and his son were not hurt. I have a few injuries from the accident, but I'm not angry. Just thankful on all accounts. Your stories if any..............................

Inventory | I've never had anything like that happen to me before, but if I were in some sort of an accident and taken to the hospital to get some tests done, and results came back for some other problem unrelated to the accident injuries, I would want to know. The reason being that advances in medical technology produces miracle cures for practically every disease known to man... Actually, now that I think about it, there are approximately 25,000 known diseases, and only 5,000 known cures, so that was a very incorrect statement on my part (don't ask me how I know these things). Take the AIDS virus, for example. Medical technology has improved so much since it was first discovered, that current medicine can prevent it from ever becoming more than HIV. I mean, sure, that's not really a cure, but nobody has ever died from HIV. People who get upset over a problem being found are probably in denial that they even have a problem.. Inventory | Never anything serious, but I have had a similar experience indeed. When I was a baby they discovered I had a condition called Epididymitis (I won't explain it here. Look it up in Wikipedia. And yes, I was cured of it) and in the process of the diagnosis they had to X-ray me. Being a small baby, X-raying one part of me meant other parts could be seen in the scan also, and the doctors discovered something odd about my kidneys: that there was only one (on my left). I must have been born that way, it can happen. I think the condition is called unilateral renal agenesis or something. So that's how I discovered I have only one kidney. I suppose it could be potentially risky had I never found out, as the discovery led to doctors' order not to play any contact sports (Rugby, American Football, Martial Arts etc). If I did play them, and happened to hurt my kidney in the process, I could well be screwed.

| Vagabond Thief | Well after a car accident I was in I went to the hospital.I had neck pain and they ended up doing a cat scan i think and it ends up that I have a disc in my neck that isnt fused all together. That explains why i have headcahes almost everyday. It's not anything serious,I was born that way. | ||||||||

Inventory | This wasn’t really about me but it is similar to yours Koda and Rikku’s too. My friend James was in a car accident one day and I didn’t know about it when I called his house the next day. His aunt told me what happened then I found out something else. When they evaluated him after the crash they found out he had a tumor the size of a soccer ball in his belly…take in mind he is really skinny. The terrible thing is I had to be the one to tell him he had the tumor…they never told him even after they knew about it. I was beside myself with fear but thankfully it was non-cancerous and the surgery for it went well. But now he has no belly button…hee hee he’s like Kyle XY now. He’s fine now though. Well they did find a non cancerous cyst on my ovaries when I went to my OBGYN…I was scared because obviously no woman wants to go to one of those! It was sad because if they had never caught that it would have twisted a few times and burst on my ovaries and I would have bled heavily on the inside, had to get surgery and could possibly not have kids. I may be a lesbian but I want a child so badly when I get older! XD I hope you feel better Koda!

Inventory | I didn't go to a doctor of medicine, but rather an optometrist. I went in for an eye exam, so I could get a pair of glasses with the prescription I currently need (My most recent pair were broken in an automobile collision --- T-boned at 45 MPH. Nothing like getting in a wreck AND punched in the face by the air-bag). As such, I am currently wearing an outdated pair of glasses. One of the numerous asinine tests was a colorblindness test. Turns out, I have mild colorblindness. More colorblind than the average person but less colorblind than an average colorblind individual. Nothing that can be done, but no decrease in quality of life. Except now I know that other people perceive a wider range of colors than I do. However, I just can't perceive differences between the horribly dull and bland colors, apparently. I didn't manage to get new glasses, either. My insurance only covers the exam, not lenses or frames. Glasses lenses are expensive. Frames are ludicrously expensive.

Inventory | I could care less if they found a tumor or other life-threatening-but-curable-disease after I emerged from a drunk driving accident. I'll still crack his ****ing head open (especially if he doesn't have insurance).
