On Chain Letters and Spam Mail

I just wanted to know what you guys think of weird-ass and pointless e-mails and chain letters. Because I keep on bumping into stupid chain letters every time I go to sites like IMEEM, Friendster, and sometimes even YouTube; and when I check my mail, I always receive mails like these:

Are you small in the pants?
There is a cure for that
Take N-R-G. daily for a few months and watch it grow
Its just as easy as that. Select 3-6 month supply for best results
Expand your Johnson now

And I'm always like, WTF??? Sometimes these things are funny but when things are like "send this to 100 hundred people in 5 seconds or else you will never have sex EVER," do you do as it says and send it to others?

Me? I just laugh at it because I think it's stupid.

I agree entirely. They are hilarious at first, but they do get annoying. Me and Celtic used to have this girl called 'Darina' on our MSN contact list. Oh dear lord, how many times did she send us spam? HOW MANY CHAIN LETTERS? WELL? HOW MANY? Celtic and I, obviously deleted her. Didn't end there, she got her friends to send her stuff next. Somebody help me...

The 'send this on or you will die' spam is annoying. I'm not even bothered to read the damn thing. If it has 'FW' in it, it'll be 'deletrix' for it. I'm sure that there was also a 'Pay for MSN' one too. It said that you had to pay for MSN(WLM now)after Summer '07. Oh, the laughter! Summer '07 has passed already.

Life is bad with the spammers. There is this guy in my contacts that doesn't shut up at all. He kept asking for people's MSN, so I just gave him the 'spam girl's' email. I thought that was good revenge, but oh man. Soon, the girl added like everyone from school and spammed them. Actually, that is the final straw. Once more, and I'm setting a 'Anti-Spamming' campaign or something.

Yeah, and there are also these surveys scattered across Friendster that contain stupid chain letters at the very end. Sometimes even at the beginning, saying, "You opened it, now you must do it."

I came across this while surfing, and this is exactly the type of chain letter that I usually see online:

Hi there!! This chain letter has been in existence since 1897. This is absolutely incredible because there was no email then and probably not as many sad jerks with nothing better to do. So this is how it works... Pass this on to 15,067 people in the next 7 minutes or something horrible will happen to you like:

I hardly get spam anymore, but when I used to get things such as the above, I used to not pass it along anyway.

I haven't died or been haunted by some scourned fifteen year old girl who killed herself, locked herself in a closet and left a note about some stupid boyfriend that left her for some blonde bint at the cinema, I haven't been burnt by a talking cooker, and I have had sex.

As you can see, I hadn't sent them on and I still ended up fine.

I ocassionally answer those lame quizzes out of boredom whenever I get them, which I hardly get anymore.

I used to get a lot of spam mail at my old email address. So I got a new one and it's a lot better.

The spam used to consist of similar things such as how to enlarge your penis. Which is something I infact lack. As well as other relevent topics i'm not overly interested.

Also those threat chains about little girls coming to kill you. I'm surprised people acutally worry enough to pass it on.

I remember making a topic about this quite a while ago, I have received a fair bit of spam and chain emails in my time. I used to hate getting those stupid letters like 'I'm actually a dead person sending this and if you don't send this to 20 people then I'm going to come and kill you.' It was ridiculous, a lot of people received that one I think. I remember actually being scared of it when I was like 13 but I got it again a couple of years ago and simply deleted it. I didn't die now did I? They're all crap and I only send ones about friendship, the nicer ones. I don't get them so much anymore since I changed emails but I do get a lot of junk mail on my Google email account. I don't read any of them, I just delete them straight away.

On the contrary buddy, I figured she might have something cool to talk about on MSN, so I just marked her mail as 'junk' via some options somewhere. Now all those chain emails go there and are automatically deleted after a few days. But yeah it was sort of annoying that the only emails she wrote were those spam ones...

And yeah the 'penis enlargement' and the like emails. I just block the senders and NEVER reply, and eventually they slow to a trickle and then stop entirely. It's all good...

I don't really seem to get spam, although the other day I got a "cheap viagra" mail in my junk folder the other day. Never open them, just look at the titles to see what crap has managed to swim in.

As for chain mails, I used to get them a lot, and the kind you're all talking about, the "post to 12 friends or you'll be unlucky in love" and evil dead girls (have people been watching to much of The Ring?) coming to kill and that. It all seemed to be from one annoying girl too. Wanna know my solution to chain mails? Spam it back to that one person as many times as you can until you're bored/ your finger gets hurt. It really makes you feel a lot better and makes the anger go away. That and the spammer never seems to want to speak to you again!
