Spending some time online you only really see what people are typing providing they don't post a picture so you pretty much develop like a third sense of somebody looks like, so subconsciously you form and image of what that person is like in real life. The thing with the Internet though is there are many people who out there are fakes, some are just trolls and others just want to be something they're not in real life. However I don't think everybody is like this, some are probably just showing the side of them they don't show in real life.

So my Questions are this:

Judging from the people you talk to particularly in this forum, how would you describe their personalities?

How do you think people perceive you?

Are you much different in real life?

I guess it'd be interesting to see how some people compare to what people think of them, I am sure there's many people out there who see me completely different from what I am like in real life, and others who know me just about exactly how I am.

Judging from the people you talk to particularly in this forum, how would you describe their personalities?

Well, the people that I talk to are quite nice. I think they're a happy bunch, but they seem to have troubles in their life, so they could be total different people in person. I think it'd be interesting to do a voice chat in this program called Vent, because then you'd hear how they say the things they type and stuff.

How do you think people perceive you?

That's hard to say. My friends see me as a happy go lucky type, I guess. I think I talk too it much, so I feel like I annoy some of them every now and then, lol.

Are you much different in real life?

In some ways, yes. In person, I am not as social and I am a very boring person to talk to. Whenever I tried starting conversations with people, they'd just look at my strangely, so I've given up on stuff like that. I have a small temper and I misunderstand people, so I snap back sometimes. On the internet, people don't piss me off that much. I stand up against those who offend me on the internet, and say whatever I want to them. But in person, I find it hard for me to prove my point to people. On the internet, I am given more time to think up a topic or what I'm gonna say.. but if you were to talk to me in person, I wouldn't answer that fast because I am not a quick thinker -.-.

Overall, I am more happy and talkative on the internet. Offline, I am more irritable and quiet.. and I daydream a lot. When I'm not talking on the internet, that sometimes means I'm just spacing out, lol.

A lot of happy people like Ann mentioned. A bunch of people that I talk to whether on the forums or on MSN seem laid-back and nice. Some of them I talk to I've gotten close to conisder them friends and I trust them sadly more them my friends in real life.

How do you think people perceive you?
Hmm..interesting. I think people that talk to me perceive as this positive, laid-back, full of life kind of person I think. Not sure exactly, but that's what I think needless to say.

Are you much different in real life?
Of course! I don't know who isn't. In real life, I'm a little shy. I'm a little quiet, but I still have the same personality like I do on here though. The only time I get crazy and talkative is when I usually hang out with my actual friends. Other then, that I'm no different then on here.

I don't know. There isn't anyone I talk to a lot on here anymore. I always thought of Sean as whiny and a complainer. I never really gave a lot of thought about it otherwise.

How do you think people perceive you?

People here hate my guts. Like, they want to see me dead. They give me negative rep for a post about my favorite TV shows.

I guess a lot of people think I am a drunk, too.

Are you much different in real life?

No.

I have met two people from here in real life. One was exactly how I thought they would be, while the other was the complete opposite.

Most people on here are pretty cool. I don't know too many people but for the few I do most of them are cool.


How do you think people perceive you?
Uhhh well that depends. Most people who don't talk to me but have seen me say I'm a fairly nice person who sorta just does my own thing and people seem to usually think I'm a good mod. My friends seem to think I'm likable and fun. There are a select few who probably think I'm a douche and can't say I like them much myself either. But you know you can't please everyone.

Are you much different in real life?
Uhh I guess I'm sorta the same. I'm respectful and fair to people til they're not to me. I usually don't have a whole lot to say and just kinda be myself...pretty simple I'd say.

They're all completely different and unlike the broader MSN population, I can honestly say I've enjoyed talking to every TFFer who I've talked to. One thing I can say is, they're all cool in whatever way, and I've never talked to any who've acted like more of an idiot then me. ANd the conversations have always had some humour or interesting things chucked in too.

How do you think people perceive you?

I wouldn't have the foggiest how others percieve me. This is due to how I still can't seem to perfect my mind reading technologies. Which coincidentally, I still haven't started working on. Like me, hate me, it's up to them.

Are you much different in real life?

Not really. I'm an idiot with brains, a fool and proud of it. I do what I do offline, online which can sometimes lead to difficulties as humour and sarcasm can be very hard to pick up. I have multiple personalities in a way which adapt to the group I'm with, BUT there are many a part of me that stays the same regardless. And I'm either TRUTHFUL, or pulling your leg.

Anybody here I've known and talked to for a while, and most people here who I've engaged in long discussion with I'd say act exactly the same outside the E-world. I can be sure of this since a number of these people I've had lengthy MSN discussions with and occasionally spoken to via phone or TeamSpeak.

As for myself? Well, I'd say I'm exactly the same. I certainly didn't used to be, back in the first 1 or 2 years of my membership here, but I was younger then. I've matured a lot since then, and become more comfortable with who I am, so the person remains the same in both the world on and off-line. I wouldn't really know how people would perceive that. I guess people who know me well here would see me as being the same. Anybody else probably wouldn't have any way of telling since I'm just not that active here anymore.

The majority of them are quite the characters, some random and funny others earnest and deep.

How do you think people perceive you?
A difficult and unfair question. I hope that they see me as a friend. Apart from that I do not know.

Are you much different in real life?
There is a deference in this place that tends to keep my harsher side out of the picture. But mainly I am the same, very quiet.

Dunno. Haven't talked to any one person enough to really judge thier personalities on both the forum and on msn.


How do you think people perceive you?
Well anyone who's talked to me will see me as fairly driven from a career perspective, seeing as of the late, I've acquired a graduate job and the whole crazy application process is all I've been doing on top of my uni for the past six or so months.


Are you much different in real life?
I think on the forums, I tend to lean more on the idealistic side of things and tend to push my opinions a little towards the extreme, whereas in general conversation, I can be more reasonable and less condemning if i'm not pushed into a corner.

Most people in here do seem laid back. The most conversations with them are funny & alright, with less than a 10% chance of us having a serious convo. Anyways, if i'm not tired or pissed, it's ok. Note that this happens when i'm added in a multi-people convo. If i'm not, i don't talk to people that much( other than a couple of greek friends ), or they don't talk to me that much. Almost the same.

How do you think people perceive you?
I don't really knowabout everyone , but some people think that i'm a good person, laid back like them & funny.


Are you much different in real life?
YES. I'm nothing like the people who haven't met me think of. I'm a bad person, with an extremelly small temper, i'm very quiet & sometimes silent like hell, i'm not easy to make friends, or open up to them.

Anyway, if someone from the forum was to meet me, they'd see something different from what they think i am.

-- I talk to ALOT of people from this forum, and also past members of this forum. To go through all their personalities would take pages, but I'll try to sum it up a little.

The people I chose to talk to seem like really good people. Alot of them have been through some trauma in their life, as have I, but I think that's a good thing, as at times it can be easier to relate.

I can't so much compare to other friends, because I'm alot closer to the people I know from TFF than anyone I can think of outside of the internet.

Some I trust more than others, though. Some I would trust with my life, and some I'm just not sure about at all. I guess you can never truly tell what someone's like on the other side, but I think there are the majority that just think the same thing about me.


How do you think people perceive you?
--More than anything, moody. Probably because I am. I have bipolar disorder and I'm untreated for it, so that just fuels the mood swings. I go from extreme depression to paranoia to ecstacy and back again.

I'm probably perceived as a little mental, too. Which again, I am. I have several mental conditions which cause me to behave erratically and see things that... Aren't sometimes there, and not be sure that the things that are really there are, and alot of other things also, which I really don't want to get to heavily into.

Well. I'd say they're a cheery lot, most of the time; though life catches up with everyone in the same ways sometimes, so they're not always smiles.
I'd describe them as, overall, nice. Some are more demure and thoughtful, others like to fart around (u knw hoo u r babi), there's some who like a laugh, and then there's the few who you really connect with, and can hold an actual conversation about actual things with.

I think my chosen adjective would have to be 'nice', overall.

I really ****ing dread to think.

Probably perceived by most as 'Mostly Harmless'.

Are you much different in real life?

Yes. It's all in my voice. Some of the things I say on the internet look quite silly - you'd have to hear them to get what's going on. I depend very, very heavily on inflection and suggestion.

But apart from that, these words that you're reasding just now are words that I write under no false pretence, and with no effort. I just spew crap. I do it in real life; I can laugh at someone getting shat on by a bird one minute and be deeply held in some fun debate the next. I'm a happy person, and would never pretend to be anything else.

From the people I have seen and talked in the small time I've been on this forum everyone are friendly and easy to talk to, I've never seen any arguments and this place in general is much more friendly compared to other forums such as ShinRaOnline.

How do you think people perceive you?
I really don't know, I personally think I'm on those love me or hate me sort of people. You tell me.

Are you much different in real life?
Well, being diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder would change my personality in real life but I personally think I am generally a friendly guy and easy to talk to so I wouldn't say there was much difference.

I know many different people.

The people I'm closer to are usually very mature and like to laugh... and they're usually laid-back and easy-going.

Haha, God knows. I don't really care. I think I seem like a different person to a lot of people. I probably seem annoyed and conceited, n00bish or humourous. Many find me pretty smart from what I know, but... uh... anyway.

I'm witty and usually the one to crack a joke in real life. Usually I only speak if it's to state something important, or to joke.

I don't talk much.

When I'm hyper, I'll laugh more. Usually, I'm reserved and content.
