I'M ALIVE!!!! HOLY ****ING SH!T!!!! I STILL LIVE!!!! I just drove through one of the meanest storms (with atleast two possible tornados) I've ever seen in my life! In a crappy car that has only one headlight and is bad on water with a man who is terrified of storms!! UN****ING BELIEVABLE!!@ You'll excuse my ranting but I just got through with a near death experience. I need something to drink now; that, and I have to punch my jibbering lobotomized roommate who still doesn't think we survived. OH GOD!! That is one of the biggest thrills I've ever had in my whole fricking life! EDIT: OH Yea. Uhh....*thinks* Ever done anything like that?! *mutters to self* Holy ****ing God. ROFLMAO Whew YES!

| | Just last week we got hit with some rough storms here in OKC. But that's normal and just the start of bad storms to come. It is pretty scary when you are driving 60+ miles down the highway with 5 feet of visibility from all the rain and a 80 mph cross wind.

| An RKO Production... | I'm calmed down now. I can post sensibly. We had winds of upwards of 80MPH with Hail. Visibility was non-existant. I survived on the tail lights of some poor shmuck in front of me. I was going about 50. Mathew, my roommate was literally screaming at me at some points. I thought I would have to punch him into submission. I can't stand when someone in the car with you screams or yells when you're driving. Needless to say He'll be spending the night over with me at my parent's ranch til the weather clears. He is such a wuss about weather.

| Wicked | Damn Sinister. Thank God your okay though. That sounds crazy of where you live. I've never experienced something like that though. We don't tornados over here in California. At least where I live. I'm not sure about other parts. The worst possible thing that could happen over here is an earthquake though. I've felt a few in the past thought. They weren't really big ones though. But on a serious note, its good that you're alive. Try drinking a beer or two and you'll do fine. ![]()

| | I always prefer tornadoes to other natural disasters. Earthquakes and hurricanes are massively destructive. Yes, you can run from a hurricane but it is pretty much guaranteed that its going to trash your property. And Volcanoes are even worse. At least if you don't have time to run, you can try and hide from a tornado. Even a ditch next to the road will save your life.

| | Glad you're fine and got through it all. ![]() As for surviving dangers...Well, I almost got run over by a speeding vehicle when I was in College. I dunno how I got away really, for a moment it felt like everything went in slow motion and was able to WALK to the sidewalk back safely (seriously it's weird. I could've been dead by now). But hey, my guardian angel saved me as he/she always did ^_^ (I went through a glass cabinet door unscathed when i was a kid and also dreamt about being hit by a flourescent bulb right on the face the night before it happened. I caught the bulb IRL...and to think I've never considered myself to have good reflexes...'cept for video games prolly .)

| The Old Skool Warrior | I sat on the back porch and watched a couple of tornados rip through my yard a couple years ago. Does that count? I suppose living in Texas, I've dealt with so many (re: dozens upon dozens) that they really don't even phase me any more. They were little baby twisters, though. Relatively harmless, chasing each other around. They tossed a 70 pound glass table across the yard and destroyed some roof shingles and ripped up trees around the neighborhood, but were otherwise a disgrace to the name of tornados everywhere. I was on a train to California during an earthquake once -- THAT was scary. The thought of derailment and the shittons of injuries that could follow really had me worried. Earthquakes are so unpredictable, too. That's not to say that tornados are predictable, but at least once one's coming down, you know it's there. There's no warning with earthquakes.

| | Anyone who lived in Chesterfield County, Virginia or the surrounding area around Spring 1993 has probably heard about this. In Colonial Heights near the Southpark Mall, an F4 tornado ripped through the downtown area and severely fucked up a Wal-Mart and several portions of nearby buildings in Petersburg and Hopewell. Believe it or not, I was less than a half mile from this motherfucker. My dad and I were coming back home from a day of car shopping when we heard the EBS go out over the radio about an F4 making its way through downtown Colonial Heights. My dad hit the gas with a lead foot I've never seen him duplicate and we took every back road he knew of to get home ASAP. We made it home to see my mom crying about how she thought we had died... a couple hours after the storm had subsided, we went out to see how the town had fared... it was a beautiful disaster. The Wal-Mart had almost been snapped in two, and the Southpark Mall had lost at least 3 stores. A close friend of mine was severely injured inside the Wal-Mart, and I hadn't seen him since then because I moved to New Hampshire about a year or so after. I still think about that day from time to time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_Tornado_Outbreak There's some pretty accurate info about that storm on that page.

| An RKO Production... | You were lucky man. Tornados aren't a light disaster. They may not compare to a bad earthquake but they are no less destructive when they hit the right places. Even the ecosystem takes a hit from a big F4. Back in November we had one here that totally destroyed an entire city. I couldn't even get in to take some photos. I only got distant photoclips I did make a youtube vid off of it and a trip I took. *rummages through 'My videos' File* It's kind of glitchy and you have to skip past the tombstones... November Damage EDIT: I wasn't there when it hit. I only saw the aftermath. They're still picking up pieces of houses.

1,538 | Yeah. There was a mini-tornado in Surrey once a while ago. It blew some trees over and was on the national news for days. There was a flash-flood once too, that hit the headlines too. Yeah. Our weather is mild, in a word. Glad you lot survived your various run-ins though!

| Vampiric Delirium | I'm glad you survived ^^. We don't get stormed on that much around here, really. We get more the dry storms, all thunder and lightning and wind but no actual rain. I'd love a storm, you know. Right here we're in the middle of a drought. Level 5 water restrictions. We can't water our plants, wash our cars, our showers have to be under 4 minutes [as if] and hoses were banned back in level 3. Everyone has envirocycle, and if we go against the rules and use too much water, the envirocycle gets overpowered and the whole block smells strongly of sewage. Which, by the way, we're on the borderline of filtering and drinking. Ew. Anyway, good for you for getting through that storm, XD
