Hypocrisy is cool.

Last year, when I lived in my univeristy halls of residence, some lunatic on a floor or 2 above me would often randomly shout "DAAAAAYOOOOOO" for a laugh (You know, like in that crazy song). I used to get so sick and annoyed by it...
However, I was talking to my friend about that same song just today, and I found myself shouting it... and for some reason finding it kind of amusing to shout... and would carry on shouting it a few more times.
Funny that something I previously condemned I found myself participating in... and it's such a random thing for it too.

I'm also a bit of a hyprocrite in other areas too. I often moan about people quoting funny lines from TV or Film in an attempt to get their own glory for somebody else's line... but again, it's something I often find msyelf doing.

Are there any areas in which you find yourself breaking into hypocrisy? Admit it... we all do somewhere.

Exactly, everyone is a hypocrite. It all comes down to the "I'm the most important" factor. I can do something, because it doesn't bother me, but you can't because it does bother me. That's just human, which is why it's stupid and a stern example why the Enlightenment makes no sense. Humans don't think rationally and never will. We delude ourselves into thinking that we're morally perfect, but we do things that logically should make ourselves morally outraged.

I do plenty of hypocritical things and I'm sure that many on this forum will attest to that, but I can attest to many things they do, so go to hell.

Some of them include just basic annoying things like you mentioned, Neo. It's annoying as hell when others do it, but not when I do it. Other's include things like tolerance and what not. You know, the standard.

I've always heard of hypocrisy defined as a human being(imperfect creature) trying to pass himself off as a perfect creature and then falling short. That fall being called hypocrisy.

You can understand now why religion is as prone to hypocrisy as a pancreas is to cancer. In this process it becomes an everyday occurrence between those moral perfectionists. Poor souls who think they can become the moral ideal.

I once struggled with this myself, before I learned that it is important to do everything you can to be perfect without proclaiming yourself as such. Only that proclomation will damn you to hypocrisy.

Just do your best, keep your mouth shut, have a good time and no hypocrisy.

I can imagine Daisy has something to say about the title of this thread.

Everybody is a hypocrite, I for one hate people who have an answer for everything (women tend to do this a lot) and just think they have the answer to all your problems when really they are just full of themselves, backtalk is something which I find quite annoying yet I as a child my Dad use to get pissed off with me and my brothers doing it all the time (supposedly).

Ooo, yeah, I have massively hypocritical sides.

I think everyone does. Like for example, I always leave my computer on when I got out for an hour or two, but if my brother does the same, I freak out and tell him to turn his off.

I really don't know why, though.

That's really the only example I can think of right now, though, sorry.
