In short, the answer to your question is yes you do sweat when you swim, but due to the fact that your bodies own heat tempreture is conducted by - and submerged in - colder pool water, you don't sweat as much as you usually would do when exercising out of water.

If you would like a more indepth awnser to your question you may find this link useful - Do you sweat in water?

Hope this helped.

Nin

Well most definitely because swimming is something physical and when you do something physical your using your muscles and when your using your muscles you sweat. Its like running or playing sports because its physical needless to say.

As Knox and Nin have already said, you do indeed sweat while swimming or performing any physical activity in the water. one reason that you don't really notice is that as you are sweating, the water is washing off of your body.

I'm going to move this to General Chat.

It's not quite an intellectual discussion, more or less something based on factor and such. While the scienfic and biological sides could be considering intellectual, we haven't been getitng very long replies, and I feel it's more suited in General Chat.

If the GC mods feel differently, they my move it back, but I will deeply considering closing this thread if it makes it's way back here.

Thanks!

To be honest, there really isn't even a topic for discussion here. A technical question was asked, and it was answered factually. The thread has effectively reached the end of its usefulness. At this point, it's just open for spam, since no other topic for discussion was given to begin with.
