Anyone know a cure for it, I've got a bad case cos a whole lot of crap's just fallen ontop of me, cant get sleep. Its been 84 hours since my last full night sleep. From here to there only got 20-40 minutes sleep before being brutally awoken by death dreams. Just wanna know if you suffer from insonmia, I know stress can cause it and all. Though anyone know a simple cure for it, my eyes are practically glued to there sockets though I just cant go asleep. Any suggestions?

| Genocide Unfolds, I Forgive All | I recently stopped sleeping properly. I hadn't slept good for more or less a month and a half. Each night, I was getting 3-5 hours sleep, and it was so tiring, I had not idea what I was doing for the most part. At any rate, I slept fairly good last night (six/seven hours). And why? Something "good" happened, so I went to sleep feeling better. Try and make something good happen, or Hell, if you have the money, buy yourself something nice. Whether it's a game, or something that can make you feel a little better. If that doesn't work, try travel sickness pills. One or two or those will knock you out really easily.

183 | You could use sleeping pills, but I personally like to avoid medication. You could try meditating, or going for a walk before you sleep. If you don't smoke I won't offer anything on that. Or you could stick some music on, something that'll relax you.

| Wicked | I've had trouble sleeping in the past as well too. To be honest, I don't like taking medication especially sleeping pills. My doctor put me on one a few years ago and I would sleep way too much. He switched me to a few others and they didn't work for shit. My dosage was either too low or too high so I basically tried finding solutions in remedies or stuff. First off, something you can do is if you have milk warm it up in the stove, then when its heated put honey in it. It supposed to relax you and make you feel at ease. Some other things you could do is avoid caffeine and try to avoid physical activity a few hours before you go to bed. I never knew that till my doctor told me about that. Also if you're stressed out and need to get something off your chest of how you are feeling, let it out to someone you trust. At night, you probably think about your problems. Try talking to someone about them during the day.

| | I have trouble sleeping too. I used to try an drag myself around all day trying to get my energy out. It was impossible. I would drive around at 4 in the morning speeding down the curvy roads of Austin, and come home tired an unable to talk due to the rampant singing I did while going on the drive. I even resorted to having a good stiff drink just to get some shut eye. Work my ass off an beg for extra hours in order to tire myself. Nothing really worked. It wasn't until I had a baby an had to work that I found my sleep again. After only getting 2 hours for 4 months every day an then working all freakin' day sleep was beginning to beg for me. If not for that I don't think I would go to bed. Even though I did have a lot of problems after as well. I was really addicted to the internet at night. I would stay up until about 6 in the morning on it. No one was around to talk to so I just stayed up. Now that I am again working I go to bed by 12 at Most. I have had nightmares ever since I can remember so they no longer bother me. It is something you have to get used to I guess. ta ta! I have heard melatonin helps. It is a natural sleep aid I guess. I have never tried it, but I have heard that it works.

| An RKO Production... | Insomnia...That's for people who actually try to sleep. I don't have Insomnia, I just have irregular sleep patterns. That's not insomnia I believe but it is really annoying at times. Let me put it this way I wish I could control WHEN I go to sleep. But I can't. ![]()

Yeah... so... I came back to this forum after years of break because now, I find myself up being up really late with nothing in particular to do... which makes me ask the question, For those of you out there who have insominia (mild, imagined or hardcore) Who are you and what do you do at night to occupy your time? | The Old Skool Warrior | Nighttime is usually my prime videogame time, specifically FFXI since I play with a lot of Australian and Japanese players most of the time. If I'm not doing that, I'm either browsing various forums or playing a console/handheld game. Sometimes I read, but I don't do that too much at night because my concentration is fuzzy and I hate to miss out on good books when I can't remember anything the next morning.

| It depends on my mood really..sometimes I sit on the computer, playing various games, chatting to friends via msn and posting on here. Sometimes once everyone has gone to bed, I go downstairs and watch TV until the early hours of the morning. If I am a little tired I lay im bed and play on my ps2, games like FFVII and FFVIII. ![]()

806 | Well, I had it only recently, Ran on for 3 nights and I took Fishies advice made myself Hot milk with Honey on it then Chez's and made somthing good happen, (The good thing was kinda sad, FF12 is realised this week so It kinda made me excited) so like the Remedy and Good thing worked so I slept for 13 hours straight. I woke up with a headache and was still tired. Though you can try occupy your mind with, Movies, Games, Take a walk outside for about a hour or even Write down all your worries on a piece of paper that way in the morning your sure you'll remember it.
