I was wondering what u people call "very young", "young" , "teenage" and "adult". Personally, I think 8-11 is very young, 12-15 is young, 16-25 is teenage and 26 & over is considered adult.
My apologises if this forum topic has already been created or it will lure spams. |

I normally call 8-11 'kids' 12-19 teenagers and then once you reach 20 you are an adult, even if you don't act like one
![]() To be honest I've never really thought about it but that's how I see it. ![]()

12 and younger is "very young".
13 - 18 is young/teenage. The rest is adult. You're still young when you're a teenager. I just think it's two different ways of saying it. Hell, even adults are "young" until they reach a middle-aged state. That's my take on it, anyway. Damn kids!

0-12 is very young
13-19 is the teenage years! 20-39 younger adult 40-55 middle aged 56-65 starting to get old 66-100 OLD! Haha, that's how I see it. Kids under thirteen are very young and from then on they become teenagers until they hit twenty. That's when they're adults! Once you hit about 40, that's when you start to feel old lol.

Anyone three years younger than me is young.
That is partially being serious. I do say it a lot that, dang you guys are young or something to that effect. They are younger than me, which unless you are in college you are more than likely. Referring to forums, but to be more specific if you are still in school and its not college I would be saying that you are young. And old well, I would say anything beyond 50 would be old, I don't like it when people say you are so old at 32. Sometimes this is during a joking manner or other times it just slips, because 32 it still pretty young in life if you are counting the life span of a human. Not to mention there are still people unmarried at 30, you start having kids and things and they are in college then you are getting old. When you become a grandparent you realize yourself that you are old.For me young and old is scale referenced by my own age as I would imagine it is with most people. You are still young at 18 I think, regardless of my own age as comparison. Young and Teenager go hand in hand and is not really two individual catergories. Young extends over a larger range of time than teenager does. Teenager is a set period of time due to it refering to the 13-19 period where there teen in the number.

![]() Eh... I get a lot of 12/13 year olds who get angry at me for saying "s'up kiddo?", they insist that just because they think with their own mindset, that makes them more of an adult. I hate the especially dumb thirteen year olds who really piss about. I'm still a kid. Well, being in my late teens, but I still consider myself as a kid (if not, still young and whatnot.) I get annoyed when I see 13 year olds saying "NO! I'M NOT A KID!" Just my opinion, but it pisses me off. ![]()

Nowadays, kids really go mature go say things like 'lame'. (Well, that's what my classmates do anyway) It's really amazing what kids nowadays do.... (no, I'm NOT saying myself.)

To me, anyone who is still in High School or below is young. Maybe the first year or two out of High School, too; the ones being "initiated into the real world," or something. There's also certain divisions below that; kids in in third grade or younger, I generally group together in the "small child" range; kids in 4th grade through about... maybe their Freshman year in High School, I still see as fairly young. Sometimes, I even misjudge how young they are, because they just look so youthful to me, or something. I dunno.
From about 19 to 25 (or maybe older), I'd probably group together. I'd call this the "young adult" stage, in which we're still learning and finding ourselves. It's weird, because sometimes, I'll see a kid just out of high school, and think "you're so young!" And then in the next moment, I'll think "I don't have to worry about it," thinking for some reason that I'm still like 18, when in reality I'm twenty-freaking-two already. Maybe I say the people in this age are "still finding themselves" to cut myself a little slack, since I really am not sure about myself yet. Anyhoo... 25 to about 44, I'd say are the "prime years" of an adult. After that, from about 45 to about 63 or so, they're getting a bit older. By at least 66, that's old. That's about the age that people start to die, actually. I think that's what I read the average lifespan was in my last Psych class. I should've kept my notes... oh well. Anyhoo... Wuv, Yer Mom

I feel it depends on how you feel and where you are at that point, when you are still living with your parents is when you are quite young, some may have a job and pay board and those are the ones I would consider kind of young. When you get your first house, have children and/or are starting off in your career to me I would consider yourself a young adult. When your children are going to highschool and all that jazz or you are trying to act like act young again like buying a motor cycle (unless you never stopped) you are middle aged. When you have your Mortgage paid off and/or your children leave home and you are set to retire then you are an old coot. Though not always the situation that is how I see it.
Do not expect to start been called an adult at 20, I have this 36 year old friend who said she considers me a kid, so I just call her a granny ![]() I feel when my attitude changed the most was first when I was 13ish, then when I was 16 I kind of grew into who I was and lastly at 18 I seriously questioned who I was and what I believe in, its like somethings always change but other things always remain.
