I know this is a serious issue, and that the pandas are an endangered species and all... but the story in its entirety makes me laugh, from the female being too uncomfortable with having sex with the male because of his weight, to the zoo keepers holding a "mock wedding" for the bears and playing "panda porn" for them, trying to get them in the mood. lol! Maybe I am just immature. *shrug* Oh well.

I hope the two pandas can work it out and make babies, however. That'd be good. Anyhoo...

It's sad because of the low supply of pandas (God, I sound like they're a resource or something!),
however, that just sounds too ridiculous.
I guess it goes to show that physical attraction and being superficious is not only a human trait.

But the panda porn? Ridiculous. I doubt that'd work. Or maybe it would? But I couldn't see it happening.

I don't think it's completely "superficial" ... she's probably afraid she'll be crushed or something, since they said she's "not comfortable" with it anymore. At least, that's what I figured the first time I read the article at Ananova (ages ago btw, old ass news lawls).


The mock wedding is a bit much, but I personally think its cute. Would do nothing for the process otherwise. (I think they did the same thing with tigers or something ... raw meat cake anyone?) No comment on the panda porn.

Huh. The first time I heard about this was like two weeks ago, on like Comcast.net; I saw the picture that I'm currently using as my banner. When did you first read about it? Perhaps the situation has changed since then, if all this happened a long time ago. However, the article on page I'm linking to said it was from the 16th of last month.

You know, I bet if you put supports on side of the female for the male to stand on then they could get it on >.>. Other then that that is pretty funny, lol. It reminds me of Robin Williams joke about the same situation.

Robin: So now they're transporting the pandas out of their natural habitat and bringing them to an Isolated area and name them "Ping-Pong O" where as his real name back in Hong Kong was "Wushu-Kong", meaning "Bear with balls of steel". And then they take him to go mate with the other panda and when he see's her he stares and says "I would not **** her. That's one ugly panda bitch. I wouldn't **** her with a koala's ****."

I tend to read a lot of quirky news so this kind of thing gets old really fast for me. I'm pretty sure I read it before that, too, but on a different site ... which oddly enough, doesn't seem to date their articles (as far as I remember). Ages ago still works well enough

Also doubt the supports would do much ... and the Robin Williams joke provides minor lulz.
