Beards

So... peer pressure. My brothers both have beards, and they told me to grow one too. So now, I'm trying to grow a beard. I don't know how I feel about this. At this point, after about a week, my "beard" is rather thin. There is a bald spot underneath my chin that looks a bit like a scar, I guess, and my moustache area does not connect with the rest of my face; there's a gap between my sideburns and my 'stache on either side. However, I'm gonna give it a couple weeks from now, and see how it looks then. I'm gonna shave off the "neck beard" though, obviously, because that's gross.

Opinions on beards? Do you like beards? Do you have a beard? Should I grow this beard? Or should I shave that shit off right now? Anyhoo...

Beards are awesome, as soon as I am able to, I'm growing one! I'm pissed, because for YEARS i have been able to grow one besides ONE little spot on my left cheek where hair won't grow. Everything else grows in perfectly but that one little spot.

If I had my long hair grown out, I'd go for the all out homeless guy/hippy look with a crazy long beard. Right now though, I just got my hair buzzed very short, so when I do grow a beard, it would be more of the closely shaven, clean cut looking beard. Mr suave The only thing I am able to grow rite now is a little goatee looking thing, but even then it takes a little while to grow out and I don't like looking like I have pubic hair on my face.

The one thing i hate is that i have sensitive skin and it gets REALLY itchy when I am trying to grow a beard. Sometimes unbearably so, but I hope to grow one out soon. My brother is 22 and he is finally able to grow a fullout beard, so I'm hoping within a year or more I'll be able to.

Soft, fluffy beards are so cute. Y'know, that whole "MY BEARD IS GROWING THROUGH FOR ZE FIRST TIEM LOLZ!" thing? Awwww, baby hair. So cute.

Anyway, baby fluff goatee's are cute, same for baby fluff moustaches. Other than that, I'm not quite the fan of facial hair.

My opinion on beards: Some look good, but too much facial hair is WEIRD. Stick to baby fluff. NEVER SHAVE OFF YOUR VERY FIRST BEARD. I guess it's too late for you, Taco.

Like beards? I answered that already.

Do I have a beard? Of course, only the cool cats have beards... *strokes own Gandalf-like beard.*

Should you grow the beard? If it's baby soft and fluffy, then yes.

Should you shave it off right now? Only if it's not baby-feely.

I occasionally grow a 'stache, but not beards. My family genetics just don't fly with beards. My face just really doesn't produce any facial-hair besides my mustache. I shave my whole face, maybe, once a month and even then I barely have peach fuzz thing going.


So...no.

I would imagine beards would be very itchy and uncomfortable...

Stop. Beards are gross. I can't understand why people go out of their ways to look like apes. What's even worse is the fact that some girls/men actually like them. I just can't fathom wanting to brush your face against a scratchy, hairy surface. At least when it isn't a pet. The thought of getting hair in your mouth when you kiss someone is just disgusting.

Now, I'm glad that I can't grow a beard. For 17 years, all I was able to grow was a tiny rapist moustache and even that's gross. Since then it has expanded a little, but not much, which makes it easier on me as I don't need to shave very often and save money on razors.

I utterly hate the fact that beards are seen as being manly. I find it an insult to my gender that we need to all look like Saddam Hussein, fresh from his hiding hole, to be considered a true member of said gender. Ick.

So in conclusion: grow the beard if you want, but I'm against it.

You sound like your beard grows the same way as mine which isn't really surprising as most start off that way. My guess is those patches eventually grow out. I started to grow my moustache, goatee and sideburns but I decided to shave it off and try again another time. I get lots of stubble but it doesn't really go beyond that atm, I probably could grow a beard if I really wanted to though.

Beards? Nah never been a fan of them. I think for some people with thin faces they work look wise, say Pete Townshend or my brother. But not alot of people should have them. I think if it's patchy then get rid of it now. There's nothing more silly looking than a faux beard. I see tons of people try to do it and it just doesn't work if your face isn't fully thick with full stubble. Also I really hate the feeling of stubble, I've had it grow for a few days and I can't help but feel so dirty even after a shower, shaving it is a must to feel totally clean in my eyes. In my personal opinion shave it and try again in another 3 months and do it every few months til it works for you.

And I'm too lazy to put this into differant paragraphs since this statement was so quick to switch questions.

Yeah I think too many beards do look awful, I agree, that's why I'm not growing mine out until I know it looks good and full. I hate scraggly, patchy, pubic-hair looking beards, people with those shouldn't be let out in public. If I had a picture of the kind of beard I'm going for I'd post a picture. Maybe I'll find one. People say my face is perfect for a beard though, my dad has one, he's been sporting the classic old white beard for awhile.

My boyfriend has a beard, and it makes him look like Abe Lincoln.

It doesn't really bother me; he looks odd without it, and in its absence there seems to be no distance between his head and shoulders.

So yeah. Beards, if they get too long, can look horrible. Abe Lincoln style isn't too bad though.

My facial hair has been growing since I was barely 14 years old. It's been getting steadily thicker ever since. My 18th birthday is next month, and I've still got bumfluffy teenage facial hair. My moustache area is starting to grow much faster and thicker, and my sideburns are starting to grow thicker. HAPPY TIMES. I bet my girlfriend will enjoy this up-and-coming Real Beard I'm developing.

I hate facial hair with a passion. Probably because I'm too lazy to shave. And shaving can be really annoying when you haven't in like a week >.>. I use to have a goatee too for quite some time, then I shaved it off. I never have any facial hair anymore, thank god. And it started when I was 13. What a curse. Beards are an evil thing.

my face gets hairy fast, I am usually lazy to shave when I am not dating anybody lol.
but a beard actually looks quite well on me girls have said, so meh...just moustaches I hate with a ****ing passion..always shave it off.

As for me, I really want to get a beard too. You're not the only one Taco. My dad's and my Uncles on his side doesn't have a beard. He has a goatee though. My Uncle's on my mom's side has beards though. Hopefully I can get one. The thing I hate though is sometimes I hate shaving too and its peach fuzz by the way!

The facial hair on my mustache is thick and by my chin is getting thick too, but my sideburns and the hair on my cheek is still not that thick compared to the rest of my face. I have no idea why though. I hate that. Another thing why I hate shaving especially near my chin is after I shave I always break out. Does that ever happen to you guys after you shave your chin?

...Okay, so I don't have a man-beard. However, I just learnt that "OMG MY BEARD HARE IZ GROWIN 4 DA 1ST TIEM!" is called fuzz (sometimes variated to fluff), and I now find it even more adorable than before... However, I can only stand to see it on my boyfriend. Only having eyes for one.

However, if I was a guy, I would never ever shave. I would have a beard of baby fuzz!
