(title = Barenaked Ladies reference. Thread = topic about chinese food.) So, in the past five days, I've had two different restaurants' versions of mandarin chicken. The first came from China Delight, and the second came from Love Love Teriyaki. The first place, China Delight, made me realise I love mandarin chicken. It came on this long plate and filled the thing up, plus it came with soup and another plate of rice. I literally ate that stuff over three meals. All of that, for $6.95 (the soda sold separately.) Also, the chicken was a touch spicy, but not too much so, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now, tonight, I went to this new restaurant called "Love Love Teriyaki" that's right down the street from where I live (well, it's less than a mile away. Like a 10 minute walk.) Anyhoo, I looked to see if they had any mandarin chicken on the menu, which they did. It was also the same price as the other place's mandarin chicken... and that's where the comparrisons end. It came on this semi-longish dish, and was comprised more of rice and noodles than chicken. I ate all of it at the restaurant. Plus, the chicken was not spicy at all (although, is mandarin chicken supposed to be a bit spicy?) Anyhoo, moral of the day; if you want a healthy serving of food for a reasonable price, and you're in North Hole-In-The-Ground, OR, then you should just go to the Subway that's connected to this Love Love Teriyaki place. On the other hand, if you want some good Chinese food, and you don't mind driving 10 minutes on Highway 20 to Corvallathon, then go to China D's. It's right there when you drive into town, too. Yay! Anyone else have any stories like this, or tips on restaurants they want to share? Perhaps of the Chinese dish variety? Anyhoo... PS. For the best supreme burritoes you can find anywhere, go to the fabulous Taco Del Mar! Wuv, Yer Mom

| Genocide Unfolds, I Forgive All | All my life, my favourite meal has stayed the same; Spaghetti Bolognse. I LOVE the stuff, so whenever we go out to eat, I make sure that's what I order. I've been to restaurants all over England, being an avid traveller and geographic master of the country, I have tasted the most delicious spaghetti -- and also the most... not delicious. One time, I went to a lovely restaurant/Inn in the South Western regions of Cornwall, where they served THEE best spaghetti bolognse I've ever tasted (outside of my own cooking). I was currently stayed nearby the Inn in another village Inn. I went back every night just for that meal. It was literally so good that it was the highlight of each day. About two nights after, I went to another restaurant, a very attractive little village house, converted into an olden time-looking chefs corner... I order the same meal, and almost cried myself to sleep that night. I felt like I shit my insides out, haha. Persnally, I find my own spaghetti bolognse to be the best I have ever tasted. There, in my eyes, is no better chef than myself. It's not quite a similar story, but it's a food story nontheless. ![]()
