Introducing a new MMORPG: Earth

Remember that episode of South Park when Cartman has a huge satalite coming out of his ass and they find out that the Earth is really just an experimental show were everybody is mixed around by that alien race to make a show and nobody earth has any idea?

What if the whole world was really a giant MMORPG of some sort similar to say the Sims but on a much more detailed level. Every single aspect of your life is pre-determined in a Create-A-Character profile, the level of difficulty ranges from each person and you have to earn your way to a cruisy lifestyle or something. The people that have a rough life are actually doing one of "Extra hard boss" kind of things. All the video games we play are just tiny old style copies of real games on the outside.

This would mean everybody has a life very differant to what we have now. If you found out this were true would you continue playing? Would you change things around? Would you go back to your normal life if you got your old memory back? Start a new free-form mode when you can mold your game to however you want or would you move on doing other challanges?

I'd find a way to kill the GMs too... lousy bastards. Who'd be the NPCs ?

I'm now accepting applications to join my Guild: "Destroy All Humans". It'll cost you your life. And soul.

Heh. Reading this topic reminded me of the MMO called Second Life. It really is a second life where you create an alter-ego and get a "job", and they even have $L as currency. You can use your real money to buy $L currency. And if you go to the premium account, you make 400$L a week as a kind of allowance. Heh.

But yeah. You can adjust the char any way you want, and make wahtever you want with the modeling software they have in the game. You'll be surprised what they have. They have furry comunities and all that. Even a porn industry. Lol.

I'd often have theroies like that, I was thinking this like after I saw the matrix and thought the world was a computer program. Then I thought it was a version of the Sim. If it is, its pretty cool thing, but the question really is

Who's the controller? Is it the person we call god?

Just kidding, I'm not sure and no one is sure but....its cruel if it is....

Well, duh don't you all already know. We are ruled by the mice and they control everything about us, we are just something fun for them to play with to pass the time. If you don't beleive me watch Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I've actually heard that our universe could just be a microscopic atom of another much much larger universe.

I've also heard that everything we see is just an illusion and if we could see for real. the world would look very different.

Anyway It would be very interesting to see how detailed, say The Sims 134 will be and the AI would probably be so advanced that they would be considered Living by the dictionary and you could go to jail if you were overly cruel or mean to such sentient creatures. Then you could take of free will and make them do what you want, with them thinking they did it. That would be cool and imagine if we too were being simulated and the people who are simulating us are being simulated by another entity and that entity was just a simulation of the only true living beings in existance.

The horrible thing is, I'd be one of them level 2 n00b type people. You know, the type that goes around and says stuff like "DO U HAV NE OVA ITEMZ 4 ME" ... without the bad spelling and grammar and whatever...

Seriously. I wouldn't really be shocked. I suspect the world isn't as it seems, and so finding out that the world is actually more lame than I first thought would be sort of a whole big weight off my mind.

Wha? The Sims isn't an MMORPG...

But if we WERE a MMORPG... that's be interesting. We'd be beating up squirrels until they died and start dropping £1 coins, drinking Coca Cola in an effort to regain HP and we'd be walking into traffic cones to save our progress in the game.

The world would be such a better place if it were an MMORPG.
