While yes, it is sad, what's sadder is only that some people use situations concerning immature kids as an excuse for contempt for all Christians. It's a rare occasion that something like that happens, and when it does, whoever does it just helps to label everybody else in their religion. Just don't let the schmuck who threw the Bible at you cloud your view of all the other Christians you know.

That being said, I also think it's a joke that so many kids follow a religion without knowing what they're following.

Well I use to respect them but the majority of them act rather self-centered and arogant and don't respect you wishes, whilst disrespecting what I believe in. It's honestly a joke how some of them act, I am sure most of them only cling onto the bible out of fear from hell.

In saying this not all of them are a pain, I have 2 good mates that a Christian and they know my stance on it and they both respect me. As for your position, I have never been in that situation but I often get disrespected if I make my beliefs known. (I am pretty much Pagan but lately I've been interested in Buddhism)

going off topic, id like to know more about 'wicca' i had to google the definition to find out what religion it was and ti sounds interesting.

Im a christian and the beggining wasnt just to annoy the moderators, i think it shows that not all Christians can be labeled. I for one, as a christian am interested in your religion as well as Paganism, thats not saying that i want ot convert but that i dont see it as a 'bad thing' or 'witchcraft' in the bad sense.

NOTE: im not sure about what 'wicca' would be as a group, such as catholics=Catholocism etc. So apologies.

*cough* sig

Anyway from what I can say, Pagan is like Religion is to Religion, and Nordic is to Christianity (An example, they are differant).

Wiccan, I believe is a branch off the Mythology which deals more with the Magik (Differant from Magic) and Nature, also deals with empowerment with in females (they disagree with feminisim though) but I men can be them too. Where as something such as Paganism deals with their Warrior values but is still somewhat in tune with Magik.

I may have a few errors but I am sure somebody can clear them up.

Thats horrible! Wicca has nothing to do with the devil. I know this because my best friend is a wiccan and I read about it a few years ago to better understand it. People are so cruel and judgemental it makes me mad!!GrRR

Agreed.

As for Wicca, there are few people that I've met who actually have a grasp on what there is to know about it. I've been very interested in the religion for several years, though I wouldn't claim to be Wiccan. It's just interesting to read about.

Basically, it's worshiping the Earth through Witchcraft. The elements are used in certain rituals, such as casting a circle (they are always used in casting circles). Casting a circle is said to keep all bad spirits and energy away from you as you do whatever it is that you will inside of it. In spells, it is said that you are very weak after performing them, so to the four elements keep you from harm. White sage is also used as part of casting a circle, which branches back to Native American beliefs.

There's a bunch of things to learn about it. I just can't stand the kids who get ahold of one of those "Book of Spells" from Walden's Books and claim to be a Wiccan. There are people who have been practicing for several years and still will not claim enough knowledge to label themselves as Wiccans. Plus, there is an initiation that one has to go through. It's different if you are in a Coven or Solitary, initiation-wise. Also, solitary Wiccans are widely frowned upon.

To best describe how it branches religion-wise, here's a crappy graph (minus other Pagan religions:

Paganism
|
Wicca
/ | \
Old Religion Celtic Eclectic

Few can actually follow the "Old Religion" the way it was made to be followed. Wicca is not an "evil" religion by any means, it's just been targeted for some reason as such because it is a Pagan religion.

If you research the word "Paganism", it's simply a religion without the belief of Christ. Wicca and Witchcraft have been called the "Craft of the Wise" for a reason, so buying the good old "Book of Spells" won't help. It's also said that Wicca and Witchcraft isn't for everybody and that it chooses you.

There is much more to it, but I don't feel like making a huge post about it. It's best to learn on your own to help you understand which path you want to take once you decide that you would like to one day become a Wiccan, be it Celtic, Eclectic or even try to live by the very strict Old Religion. Plus, I'm not a Wiccan, so I'm not here to speak on anyone's behalf.

As for your situation, if you flaunted that you were Wiccan, you might have deserved it. It's a very despised religion and that's one of the first things you should know. There are people who get beaten, raped and even murdered for being Wiccan. Be careful what you say when it comes to Wicca. It's common sense. I don't wish anything bad to happen to you and I don't mean to be rude when I say what I do, but you have to use common sense when it comes to such a religion.

If your heart is truely in this religion, don't let such a stupid thing stop you. In return, don't do anything stupid to retaliate (and you should know what I mean). If you're Wiccan, you should know the Wiccan Rede. Remember what it says when someone does something like this to you and remember the Three Fold law. This applies to every action you take.

Haha. Honestly? Religion is for followers. Why not have your own outlook on life? No, I don't care what you have to say about this. I'm not looking for an arguement. That's my honest opinion. Ah, I don't think It's sad. What's sad, is the person threw a bible. If it had been a stick or something, I suppose It wouldn't have been so bad, right? He was rubbing it in, with the ****ing bible. You need to fight religion with religion. You need to cast some kind of death spell on him.

The funny thing is that you're not supposed to let a bible touch the floor, out of respect, much like with a country's flag. Throwing a bible is pretty immature and also sacreligious, which is the biggest irony of them all in that case.

Nicely put, sexy, very sexy.

Rabbit dont take that as an insult, take it as a joke, laugh at the clowns. If someone is so caught up and dependent on their religion that they have to go out and try to bully people around than all you really can do is laugh. Its not their religion thats making them do that, its the person and their insecurities...There are too many suckas around to worry about, its a lot easier to just sit back and acknowledge the fact that your better than them Ohhhh yeaahhhhhhhhhhh

I'm a Christian and that's the first time I've ever heard that...

Heck, I work in a Christian bookshop, I handle loads of bibles. Sometimes I've had to place a few bibles on the floor so I can put them down so I can shelf other books.
There is nothing in the bible to stop you putting it in the floor. It is not a sin at all. I dont even see it dis-respectful. Though yes, I do believe there are disrespectful ways of treating bibles, and I avoid them as much as I can, but not because such ways are sins. Only out of my honest respect.

I'm not sure if it's actually a sin or not Neo, but when I was in grade school, we had this one nun who would come in and teach us religion. She would distribute bibles, and if we had quizzes, we were supposed to put everything under our desks. One time, my friend put his bible on the floor without his folder acting as a buffer, and the nun flipped shit. After that, I've just always assumed that it was a big no-no to put a bible on the floor.
