Sounds good, I love the sport so i'll post what happened in baseball, in accordance with everyones teams. So if im missing someones, let me know.

Today in baseball, the Mets put an end to their first slump of the season with a HUGE offensive performance against the Yankee's Randy Johnson. Steve Traschel won his 5th straight start, and tore up Johnson for the second time this year, wow! Thus snapping their 4 game slide with and 8-5 defeat over the Yankees yesterday.

I actually got to watch the end of the White Sox/Cubs game..... what a sad sight to see. Pierzynski's 3 run homer in the 9th led the Sox to victory. According to Elias from ESPN, this was only the 4th time in the last 20 years that the Cubs lost a home game in which they led with two outs and no one on base on the top of the ninth. The Sox have won 13 of their last 15 games. Much luck to the Cubs(29-51) tomorrow as they try try to pull out of their slump, who are moving closer and closer to the lowest ranked team in the MLB, the Royals(27-52) Though the Pirates are not to far off, and in my opinion the lowest @ (28-54). The Cubs game is @ 2:20 ET for those who will tune in.

Speaking of Kansas City, they won their 2nd straight against St. Louis(43-36), with a final score of 8-7 in the 11th inning. This and yesterdays game against the Card's went into extra innings and both times did Teahen score the deciding run, to pull them to victory. They are pulling up some decent hitters from the minors now they just need to work on their pitching staff. The game would have been over in the 9th inning if it wasn't for the poor pitching of Ambiorix Burgos, who allowed Edmonds(pinch hitter) a home run in the bottom of the 9th to blow his 7th save. I think he needs to spend some more time in the minors... Throw him back folks he's got some growin' to do.

Boston today reclaimed some swallowed pride in defeating the Marlin's in an 11-5 victory. Boston's major league-record run of 17 consecutive errorless games ended with two mis-cues in the first inning, but the offense easily atoned for those mistakes. The Red Sox, who are 13-1 in their last 14 games, had 13 hits, including nine for extra bases. Former Marlin Mike Lowell tied a career high with three doubles. Again, some awesome history from Elias @ ESPN --For the first time in more than 30 years, two players recorded their 2000th hit on the same day: Garret Anderson and Manny Ramirez. That hadn't happened since 1973, when Pete Rose and Willie Davis reached that milestone on June 19, 1973.--

And finally, the Phillies lost today against Toronto with a final score of 5-2.
Eric Hinske and Troy Glaus homered in the 6th inning to help the Blue Jays beat the Phillies, which has brought Toronto to its season high 5th straight victory. That is about all other than a rather humorous picture of Sal Fasano, that was taken while he was still playing for the Orioles.

Someone get that man a newspaper... he looks constipated. >_<

Well that is all from me today, now I have some unfinished business with my computer, and a networking problem.... stupid networking...

Just thought I should mention something....

AL Player of the Month - Joe Mauer
AL Rookie of the Month - Francisco Liriano
AL Pitcher of the Month - Johan Santana ( Liriano Runner-up)

All Twins.

That makes 20 wins of the last 22 games. 9-0 Homestand. Mauer hitting .392.

Etc....

So what have the Phils doen lately..oh yeah..lose -_-
However I have to say I am disappointed by one thing...Bobby Abreau.
It looks like he may not make the allstars this year...since the voting has degenerated into basically a popularity contest..I wonder...wouldn't the guy who won the Home Run derby last year, and shattered it's record of HR's in the contest be an easy pick to go again?..oh well..two of our guys are going at least...le sigh

Texas Rangers, anyone?

I know they're not exactly "kicking ass" this year, but with a .506 record, they're still better off than most of the teams in the league. They're like the neverending underdog. Most years, the AL West is one of the most difficult divisions to play in, though this year, all of the teams are decidedly lackluster.

Still, I've always been a Rangers fan, ever since I was in elementary school. Perhaps the fact that I used to live a mile and a half away from Arlington Stadium (yes, back in the early nineties) and then the Ballpark in Arlington when it was built... perhaps that helps a little. Talk about a TRUE home team, huh? Pfft, stupid "Ameriquest Field in Arlington" crap. At least we got to keep our name in the title. Hey, a sponsorship's a sponsorship, though.

In any case, other favorites tend to include the Cubs and the Mets.

Consider this a warning.

I know, I know, I should let the GC mods handle it, but they're all sleeping or something like that, and I need to go fix your signature now.

Well, looks like the Mets are back on track, taking 3 of 4 from the Pirates, and cracking 50 wins two nights ago... first NL team to do that all season.

I think we have 3 against the Marlins before the All Star break. Hopefully we can throw a little weight around and show why we're number one in the NL.

And how about that All Star game guys? I think we have six Mets going in, which is always a good sign that your teams playing well. D-Wright, Reyes, Beltran and LoDuca all starting, I believe, with Glavine and the unfortunately injured Pedro also making the team. I can't believe that Nomar won the final vote. I guess he was ...sort of deserving, with a .359 batting average, but Capuano and Wagner have been pretty lights out so far. Oh well, I guess we really didn't need a seventh Met out there

I have never been able to sit down and watch an entire game of sports. Baseball, especially. Call me unamerican if you want, but I find the sport to be incredibly boring to watch. I can play it sure enough and I am pretty good at it, but for the life of me I cannot watch a game.

This isn't bashing or anything, I promise. I just felt like I should say that before I say that I am not for any team. Which may or may not have been apparent. I am, however, against a team. Wholeheartedly, in fact. That team is the Baltimore Orioles. Why? Because they are my roommate's team and I enjoy giving him hell. I don't know how good or how bad they are doing, but I do know that anytime I peek in utter those sweet sounding words... "You know, they are going to lose miserably, right?" they do in fact lose. Maybe I have the foresight, maybe they suck. Who knows.

So yeah. I am against the O's and for anyone that is playing them. I highly doubt she will see this, but how about them Yankees?

'how about them Yankees?' how bout they all drown in the East River....Hate em Hate EM hate em.

Whie! Phillies are on another lovely traditional skid! Burrell is being mae to sit..Zthou Lieber has been excellent...Something is just missing...which for the Phils it usually is...if the Defense it good the offense is bad....and vice versa..so rare that they balance out..oh well. Another game against the Pirates today...>.>

At least you got a Phillie to win the home run derby... freakin Howard beating Wright by just one. Now that hurts.

Oh well, since Wright got second, I guess this means that "curse" won't be affecting him.

The "curse" is the one in which whoever wins the derby usually produces shitty home run numbers for the rest of the season, a la Bobby Abreu
