1.) Final Fantasy, obviously.

2.) Chrono Cross- Chrono Cross actually had really good music, but I don't really hear people giving it credit. I'm going to buy it again, because we accidently sold it with our old Dreamcast games. I was listening to the soundtrack, and I really want to play it again. Luckily, my file is still saved on my memory card.

I have a TON of video game music on my iPod. Here's some of my favorites:

Okami - There are about 188 tracks on my iPod, and that's still not the whole album! Here's one of my faves:

YouTube - Okami Soundtrack - Giving Kushinada A Ride

Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars- I've wanted this album for a really long time, and I just got it not too long ago, so I've been listening to it almost addictively. My top three VG music composers worked on the music to this game, Yoko Shimomura, Nobuo Uematsu, and Koji Kondo. It's hard to just pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be this:

YouTube - Midas River

Shadow of the Colossus- Probably the most beautiful soundtrack to a game I have ever heard! Koh Ohtani did an outstanding job, and if the movie is ever made, then I hope they get him to do the orchestration. Here's my fave:

YouTube - Shadow Of The Colossus OST - The Opened Way

Kingdom Hearts I, II, and 358/2 Days- Great music from Yoko Shimomura! So many songs capture the feeling of what is going on in the game, which I suppose is the point, yeah? Anyway, Dearly Beloved is probably my most cherished peice of music from these soundtracks. I love all versions, but I think this would have to be my overall favorite:

YouTube - Kingdom Hearts II Music - Dearly Beloved

Final Fantasy (too many to list out...)- I think my first soundtrack album was from FFVII. My collection has grown tremendously since then, and I love all the music from each. I can't really choose an overall fave, because it would be too hard.

The Legend of Zelda (Ocarina of Time, Windwaker, and Minish Cap)- Just like FF, Zelda has a lot of tracks that are too great to pick just one.

I agree with the people who mentioned games like FF (goes without saying), Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda, and Xenosaga.

I've also got to add, Katamari Damacy. Quirky, catchy, and pretty much captures the atmosphere perfectly. Wouldn't be Katamari without the soundtrack.

Persona 4. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the soundtrack for P3, aside from a select few tracks, but P4 was very nicely done. I enjoyed its pop-rock background music and vocals. Shoji Meguro is pretty hit-or-miss with me, and in this case I think he did great. "Heaven" is one of the best tracks I've heard in a game in a long time.

Also, I find the Animal Crossing soundtrack to be really nice to listen to right before bed. All the tracks that play whenever you're just wandering around fishing or catching butterflies or completing needless tasks for lazy obnoxious neighbors, its pretty relaxing.
