Which FF songs make you cry?

Well, I personally think that Tifa's Theme on the piano was the most touching. Close to it would be Eyes On Me, Aerith's Theme and Zanarkand.

Final Fantasy song that makes me cry is the ending theme to Final Fantasy X.

^ Yeah same, the music that is played during the ending FMV of Final Fantasy X usually gets to me whenever I hear it or see that scene! It's very sad indeed. Suteki Da Ne is also a sad song to hear at times, it's very beautiful though.

Drifting in Final Fantasy VIII is sad, that's the song playing when Rinoa is in space, hence the name! In VII I would have to say Aerith's Theme and Holding My Thoughts In My Heart. That's all I can really think of at the moment.

Hmmm, I would have to say probably either Eyes on Me from VIII [I blame the piano really] or 1000 Words [when Jade sings it. Kumi's ok, but Jade really got the meaning in the song to touch the player's heart I think.]

Really a lot of the songs that use the piano accompanyment [sp?] tend to make a lot of people feel the rush of an emotion, or even an orchestral [again sp?] sound can do the same. But that's just how I see it.

I must admit.. I never really thought about it at first.. Since it was always just hanging around there at the beginning of the game before I loaded. Actually, it probably even got on my nerves a little, you know?

But then.. And I can't be bothered with spoiler tags so I won't go into it..

But when that scene actually rolls around and they're all sitting by that fire.. It kinda gave the song a new lease of life for me. It suddenly had meaning.. It became something beautiful and bittersweet...

And yeah, it made me cry a little. .. Just a little =P.

So I'm really the only one that bawled like a baby during Tifa's flashback when in the lifestream to the song "On the Other Side of the Mountain". I thought that that was probably one of the most touching scenes in the entire game and the song was so beautiful and very sad. Even the conotations and the title itself "On the Other Side of the Mountain" has an ominous, spooky and despairing sound to it.

It's my favorite song in all the Final Fantasy games combined, ever. Until they release VII remade with a orchestra redition instead of a midi file.

There a quite a few songs in FF that make me sad and bring a tear to my eye, but Aries' death music made me almost bawl

Aerith's theme was a major tearjerker for me. Each time I play it my eyes just start tearing up, its very sad. And also her other theme: Flowers Blooming in the Church" was a sad one too.

The end of Final Fantasy X got me going, because i knew what was coming.

Spoiler: Auron and Tidus leaving forever. It was really sad. Especially because of the death i knew was coming. Previously in FFIX and VIII there were happy endings. X had such a sad feeling at the end of it.

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned Celes' Theme or Rachel Forever. Both are extremely under rated IMHO. I cried during both the

Spoiler: ...Celes suicide attempt and Rachel's awakening. Having Rachel Forever playing during both was soooo fitting.

It is often The Prelude. Maybe because it is one of the ultimate classics of Final Fantasy music and brings You memories of all the FF games You played. If I had to choose my favourite Prelude then it would probably be from VII and VI. The Prelude in VI is the absolute top of Nintendo generation Fantasies and the VII's is so full of that new innocence.
The FFVI recurring theme that is present even in the opera sequence would be a close second.

I've never cried over a song, but I come very close to tears with the Aeris Theme sometimes.
