Another handful of minor, yet helpful, changes.

• The most obvious to some of you will be the addition of a button for the [spoil] tag. While the tag itself is by no means new, many people are unaware of its existance. With the hope of reducing unmarked spoilers around the forum, I have now added a black "spoil" button to the full text editor. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to include this within the quick reply box, but rest assured that I will ask Fuzz or Merlin for their assistance on that one.

• I have also extended the maximum poll options to 15. I, along with many of you, have come across rare occasions when I've needed 11 options instead of 10. While this may seem like a moot point on most polls, it really comes in handy in the game-related forums.

• I have, believe it or not, lowered the flood limit from 60 seconds just like I promised you I would. It now rests at 45 seconds. While this is still an excellent deterrent for spamwhores and spambots, it should be a little nicer now for those of you who live within the spam thread.

• Who's Online now auto-refreshes every two minutes.

• The maximum post length is now 50,000 characters. For 99.99% of members, 20,000 was more than enough; however, for people like myself, Andromeda, Merlin, and Psiko, this will be a welcome change. Now, instead of breaking things into two or three posts when they are excessively large, everything can be included in a single post.

• The courtesy edit time (time for a user to edit before an edit note appears) is now three minutes.

• There is now a five minute courtesy wait time for the addition of a poll to a topic, in case a user meant to include a poll but forgot to actually add it. This will reduce the number of duplicate threads due to reasons such as "forgot the poll." Many of you would be surprised how many deleted topics we see with that exact message.

• The number of lines in a [code], [php], or [html] box visible before a scrollbar appears has been reduced from 30 to 20. This is to condense vertical space.


I certainly hope these slight additions and changes are helpful to all of you.

And I loved double posting in the RP Forum legally now I am going to have to break the 50,000 character limit. And Loco knows I can if I really want to, though there are not too many occasions where I will need to unless I am just wanting to write into excess. And I had post already ready for tonight too, I was stopping because it was way past the limit, no I have nothing to fear. Mwuahaaha, you may regret lengthening it for me a few times I stop simple because I am getting to the limit.

The spoil is a nice touch, since it is important to have for things but people type it wrong or forget it. I know I have typed it wrong and tried to figure out why.

The extra poll is nice since we have 12 FFs now, we must have more poll space, well 13, but anyway.

Due to a handful of remarks from members who keep running out of time, I have just changed the length of time allotted for adding a poll to a thread from one minute to five minutes.

I will edit the first post accordingly.



I should also note that the option is available at the bottom of the page when starting a new thread to begin with. It would save a lot of you a whole lot of trouble. (That's always been there, by the way... it's nothing new.)
