I'd also like to point out the points system for "Solitaire" is flawed too. Should be lowest score, not highest. Silly Lover Boy is upto his old tricks!

Ah, good eye on that SB. Some games in the system are set by default to highest score, so I will have to go through and fix that. We already fixed the dars, mini putt, and now solitare. thx.

Relm has asked how long the Arcade pass lasts from the forum store, so I went ahead and made 2 new options.

Weekly Arcade Pass (free gaming for 7 days) - 1000 GP
Monthly Arcade Pass (free gaming for 30 days) - 3250 GP

If you work the #'s, these are 2 options that are made for the avid gamer and can save a good amount of GP in the long run. It just depends on how much you like to play. I'm still trying to find the equilbrium market price here. It is hard to do when many already have a lot of GP and some don't. I still believe 20 gp per game is fair, but to noobs that may be too much. I'm sure a fair price will eventually set over time, just like the economic market price does in real life.

EDIT: Considering how much harder it is to actually become a champion and how quickly users like to play a game over and over again, I think we should move the price down to a generic 10-15 gp per game. Sounds simple and is certainly more affordable. This will help promote more play for noobs and other users that dont have much money. In addition, I will likely bring down the champion award to 250 gp, just to keep things equal.

I will adjust the Arcade pass prices as well to reflect the new discounts. Do you guys agree on this new price?

I am all for it.

It will probably boost activity a bit, because people won't be spending as much gold. I know I will probably play a bit more than I did before.

ahh well, it was good while it lasted.
Then I'd be playing just to put my name
on the boards, and not as much for the money now.
A little incentive lost, but eh. It's ok with me.

Yeah - we'll keep moving it up and down until we find a happy equilibrium. It is such a tricky thing to do when half of the people already have 10,000+ GP.

Sorry the prize amount continues to go down. I may bring it back up along with the arcade game prices. We'll just have to see how this new price setting rolls out for a little bit. Thanks for your patience guys.

Is that it? I thought I did pretty well, but was wondering how I ended up in last place. I did like that putt-putt thing, though.

Actually, I would suggest keeping the Champion prizes at 500 or so and keeping the game prices at 25. The new members already start with a grand or two, right? So they should have plenty of money to play. And with a decently high prize, it's more incentive to try for the best scores. But hellifino, it's not like the forum is actually making money by people playing games or anything. I'm sure you'll figure out a good system, like you do with everything else.

Yeah - as I pondered over the changes I made last night, I realized that the champion prize should remain at 500gp. As more and more people continue to get higher scores, it will only get tougher to become a champion, so I re-raised the prize amount to 500gp. The arcade prices are still set anywhere from 10 - 40 gp though. And you are right. All noobs get 1000 upon registration, so that should give them a good kick-start anyways.

That sucks man, sorry about that. I just did a test run of the game to trouble-shoot it... I found out that you must click the small 'a' in congratulations... you will notice your mouse cursor will turn into a hand to click on a link... at least that it how I submitted my score.

You won't believe how long I was stuckon figuring that one out. Probably lost a good amount of gold on it too......damn it.

25 gold per game sounds a bit steep to tell you the truth. Make it 20......imagine being able to play 5 games rather than 4 with the same amount of money. It would beneift the noobs best.....I could care less, I'm the richest user muahahahahahaha!!!!!

umm I think they already discussed that, it has to be written into flash, and nobody can do that, anyways, the arcade seems to be one of the very few things I spend gold on (why isn't it gil?)
I keep trying my best, but I just can't get a highscore! Heck, I did LOTR battle for at least an hour and a half, but I'm still way behind! This is really frustrating, I can't even highscore Sheep Jumper, *sneers at Relm and Pillbox* yeah........ well that's my 2-5 cents
