Hey guys - Turns out the upgrades went well, but when I tried restoring today's forum backup... it failed... and now I have to revert to the March 19th Forum backup. This means we will lose all posts a data from that time frame <<. I know this is a huge inconvenience, and on top of all the other server changes, I'm sure this is icing on the cake. I"m to blame here, go ahead and let me have it! I built a backup before I began upgrading the server PHP packet, and I believed the backup was complete, when it actually wasn't.

We only lost 2 days of data, so it isn't that bad... plus it could be a lot worse. Please PM w/ an estimate on how many posts you lost. I will give everyone their posts back... and I will even give everyone 500 gold pieces. I know we lost some great topics from the last 2 days, but lets restart them. I promise this will not happen again, and all the hurdles, bumps, and annoyances are behind us ^^

Again, sorry... at least we got our PHP server optimized... just happened to lose 2 days of posts. Shouldn't be too hard to post important topics again that were lost. Thanks for understanding guys, and I feel like utter crap about this... alright... let me have it! bah

I was wondering what you were doing.. since the forums have been down since I got home tonight. Its not that big of a deal, IMHO. 2 days is nothing. I don't think you should really concern yourself with the whole post count stuff... it always ends up the same way... those of us who don't care say nothing and those who do care fudge their numbers.

Its not like people lost all their stuff or something. They can easily gain back two days of posts, especially since we were still having goof-ups with server stuff during that time.

You're right it's not that big of a deal, but people I'm sure are still concerned about some of the threads they started, as well as losing any donated gifts they received.

I made some pretty educational posts, and I have no idea which threads they were in lol.... but these things happen, no biggy. Fuzz, post the Paypal donation link again!

Well I actually just noticed it messed up my ava/sig back to it's original setting those few days ago so anyone who changed something along those lines will probably have to redo whatever they had. Not hard though. Tis ok though Fuzz, still <3 you

Wait, so you want everyone to PM you about their lost posts? That's a lot of people...How about I just tell you the posts I lost (8) in this thread, and we call it good?

Also, from what I've seen, posts are deleted all the way back to the 15th. Just in case you didn't notice, or something, and if it changes anything for you. There's a good chance I wasn't paying attention, and missed something...

...but no biggie. I think whatever it was I said didn't matter much anyway. I will probably say it again, and people will be like "there's that dumb-ass Taco again..." or something. Thumbs up on having everything upgraded!

Yay, I'm glad everyone is understanding so far... I was sweating bullets when all this happened... I really couldn't believe it.

I am happy to replinish post counts for those that want them... people that have been here for 4-5 years like me and merlin probably don't care as much, haha.

and yes - as griffith pointed out... anything you have done, including avys, sigs, user cp stuff, posts, gifts, in the last 2 days are GONE. it is lame... the only thing I can bring back is your post count if you PM me.

Still, easy to happen. No big. post count means nothing, so i wont bother guessing how many i lost.

I'd imagine we could just go with our average posts per day, and figure we probably lost about that many posts. I got about 6 posts per day, so I'd imagine I lost about twelve posts, over two days. If you want to add that back to me, great. If not, I don't think it would matter to, well, really, anybody. But it's a nice gesture!

(It looks to me like posts are deleted to the 15th, too. I dunno, I think I had like 496 last time I saw it, earlier today. I just saw another post of mine, though, with 466 as my post count, and I don't know if I've had 30 posts since a week ago ... although it seems legit. Either way, it's up to you.)

But, again, keep it up. I'm sure you're doing what you can, so just keep on' truckin', and we all appreciate it, Fuzz.

EDIT: Are reputation changes in the past week erased, too?

Yes. EVERYTHING from the past few days is undone. Sorry.

I only lost a hundred posts or so. Doesn't bother me.

As far as the forums themselves, it's just good to see everything running again.

Yeah I lost like 20-40% on my level meter because of it, but hey I'm not gonna complain. As long as the forums are up it's all good, Fuzz does a good job. He's one of the few admins I actually see do some good ****ing work.

It's easy for most to say that their topics didn't really matter, but the RP board! I had a great RP OOC, now i've forgot it.... I have to start all over again now....

Oh my gosh, Aerif, I'm so sorry...

That's why I always save every single post from every RP I participate in, as well as any really important OOC posts, like those with character information or major plotlines and such. I'm really sorry. Keep that in mind for all your RPs from now on, though. It's never bad to have a copy of your own.
