Gold Pieces / Points Enabled

After the move to Vb 3.5 you may have noticed that the points were disabled due to clashing versions of the points hack.

However, I did find a way to fix it \=()

Now you can start earning GOLD again, which is the same as the described 'points' on the main page. Here is a list of way to earn GOLD.

* Walkthroughs - 200 Points
* Reviews (atleast 500 words) - 150 Points
* Fan Artwork - 200 Points
* Media Files (MIDI, etc) - 200 Points
* Game Coverage - 150 Points
* Fan Fiction - 200 Points
* Post a Reply in Forums - 10 Points per Post
* Post a Thread in Forums - 25 Points per Thread
* Viewing Posts - .10 Points Per View
* Refer A Friend To TFF - 500 Points

You even earn more GOLD by posting longer posts now... the amount of characters you post is multiplied by a factor then added to the 10 points already awarded for posting a reply.

So what is the point of earning GOLD???

A Store will be added shortly, along with bank (with much lower interest than before, so you can't earn 100000000000). Not sure what the store will offer but I can promise cool stuff.

In addition, Prizes will be awarded.

So although the store is not available yet, please feel free to start earning gold. I posted a little icon of each user's amount of gold in their post-bit on the left.

I will post any updates as they unfold. Please post any comments/concerns/ideas.... Hopefully the store hack will be ported to 3.5 soon, it has been over a month now \=(

Well I love this idea as much as I did when you first introduced it but it was never initiated yet. While you are announcing it again, I hope it will be able to be incorporated soon...hell, I hope it will be incorporated at all.

Wheres this icon you refer to Fuzz? I cant see anything in my post thingy as you called it hehe.

EDIT: I tried entering a review before and it was never accepted. Will it be accepted now if I send it in and if so, how soon will it be accepted?

Sorry dude, fogot to mention that I was editing the TFF LITE template 1st, then I will do the same for DARK and BLUE. I'm still playing around w/ how I want it layed out.

As for a response to your EDIT, great question.

I actually posted your review last night. Turns out the system I'm using was keeping over 200 reviews/content/news/etc in a different folder than I have been checking, so although some went through, over 3/4 were missing.

I'm already working on posting all the review/content that were accepting, including yours. After it is posted, the points are awarded. I hope this clears things up \=()

Oh alright, thanks for clearing that up. Glad to hear that you accepted my review. I was beginning to think it was actually not good enough (if you look at some of them in that section, youll understand why that would be quite sad for me).

EDIT: I just checked out the gold icon in the light format and it looks great.

heh, yeah, I'm accepting a good portion of submitted material, but you should really see some of the reviews:

"this game rOckED!!! IF YOU DOT HAVE iiT FGO BUY IT NOW! Tidus was AWESUM, LOL!!!"

- Also, the better the review and more particular and obvious time put into it, the more points.

I think I have the system finally full-proof, plus Merlin installed vb3.5, so I don't need to worry about porting anything for quite some time.

One more thing I wanted to make you aware of (I know Im annoying you hehe). I went and looked at my review and also checked another one in the section. The review under the user name "Ben" is the exact same one as mine. Im sure it was just a mistake with organizing and I just wanted to inform you about it.

Ah, okay. So it's nothing new, just the point system with a shiny new name.

Now the only question is one of which type of shop you intend to implement. Have you thought any more about that? I still say we should keep away from any sort of RPG-type store like TFF had when I joined three years ago, because it'll only produce the "how do i play the rpg" question once a week... every week...

Perhaps those old username-type options again?

Something in that direction, of course there will be more options available, as well... But yes, it will not be a 'rpg store' that some of us are scared of.

Once a store is released, we will review it and then implement it. Just dont know when it will be, hopefully soon.

Hello, um I was just wondering, do you have a zip file for your cool hp/exp hack? I'm looking for one to work on my new vB 3.5 board...
Also, I'm wondering how you get the user join date and avatar and title to go on the left side of the post instead of on top of it?

If you own a license to VB, go to vbulletin.org and do a simple search for Level hack and you should see only a couple for VB 3.5

I did a lot of toying around in the 'postbit_legacy' template found in the admin control panel to display nearly everything, along with moving the join date and location of the users below the avatar like you asked.

I would really get used to working with the postbit_legacy template... More information/tutorials can be found at vbulletin.com their sister site vbulletin.org... I hope some of this helped.

Ahh yes much appreciated! I already tried searching vB.org with no luck, but now that I know there are some level hacks for 3.5.X I'm much more confident
