The new Final Fantasy XIII trailer was released today, you can view here on the official Japanese website:

It features actual in-game footage of battles, and it looks insane, very hectic, and it's sort of hard at times to understand what's happening, everything is just going so fast. I guess understanding Japanese would help a little..

Anyway, it's looking fantastic!

Well as I've said elsewhere, I'm trying to avoid watching every possible trailer/footage I can, so that I'm not super hyped when the game comes out (which leads me to be disappointed).

I did see this trailer, though, and it looked good, not OMG WOW (I must admit FFCC: TCB did that I must say), but I think if I keep up my lukewarm reception for new FF13 media, I just might end up really enjoying the game.

Wow it seems very up to date, more steam punk than traditional final fantasy, only time will tell if that's a good thing or not. I like the idea of the battle, all hectic and much more action based than previous FF's, kinda reminds me of a sped up version of Parasite Eve. The graphics look great as well, although this has little bearing on whether or not I will buy the game.

I already loved the setting of the game with a cross between steam punk and sci-fi but now I'm liking it even more. I just hope Pulse (the forrest like world) gets as much attention as, from the other trailers, it's just beautiful.

Plus it's nice to see support characters like that orange haired dude. And contrarily to what some people say I don't think the designs are very recycled, they still look very good especially with the variety from Snow to Sazh to Vanille. For me it's weird in a creepy way that Oerba reminds me of Rikku though since she doesn't seem to be a lot like her in personality.

Oh forgot to mention, you can see the trailer with official English subs on either their US page or Europe page. I'd recommend the latter, it's not being hammered as much.

Just watched it a like 2 minutes ago and I must say I am very excited about the combat system, looks to be very interesting and not boring. I would like to know more, like how the other characters are controlled in combat cause its seems you only control one; I wonder what system they'll use, maybe something based of the gambit system but refined to fit the game maybe. The cut scenes showed definitely were intriguing and I am happy I was able to see the three characters from Snow's rebel group. And it did look good, but graphics don't make an rpg just are a bonus that I never mind to have.

By the looks of it, I think they're making it so the battle system actually looks like some super-fast fighting scene from an anime, and for us players to actually do that,
is the battle system is a mixture of the FFXII battle-system, and the traditional turn-based battle system, and the battle system let's you choose at least 3 actions for your party-member to do in one turn. than you see your party do it's 3+ actions, and than your enemy attacks, than youchoose your actions again, etc.

The battle system definitely looks innovative. Hopefully it's sound because other than story thats what will make or break the game.

I am going to have to agree with you. I mean I can't wait to get this game. It's been a wail since I have found myself wanting to get into a FF game or even a good RPG. So I am really excited about this game coming out. It looks great from the trailers I have watched of it.

Not impressed tbh, magic is looking scarce and no cool weapons.

Heres hoping its nothing like 12, as that was pure dog vomit imo. The only FF that i never bothered finishing

Looks really good. I'm really excited about what the battle system is going to be like.
It looks like something between KH and Crisis Core.

Well I've just finished watching the trailer and it so far looks very interesting ^^... I can't wait to actually get to play it and experience it for myself...Sure I didn't understand what they were saying since it's Japanese and I'm English but you could still tell what the message was about =]... I liked how this trailer also including some fighting footage from the game it really gives you some depth on the battle system and how it's going to work out... So far I've very excited to see what this Final Fantasy has in store and hopefully it's just as good as the ones that came before it ^.^

Howcome 12 was so bad? I never played it but I was thinking of buying it online. Just wondering.

Anyways yeah this new FF13 game looks prety good.
