ok it was just anounced on E3 that final fantasy XIII is going to be released on the x-box 360 along with the ps3, im jsut curous what people think about this

It was announced at the Microsoft conference.

I have to say this is quite the shocking upset considering Sony was flagging XIII as the big PS3 exclusive. I say it's good for people with 360s like Toph who don't want to buy the other system for other games. As long as it's still coming out on the PS3 (the one HD console I own) it's fine. Although I wonder how they'll fit the gamedata when PS3 uses Blu Ray and 360 uses plain DVD.

I know we had some member gal a year or so ago who was really, REALLY adamant on seeing FF on the 360. Wherever she is, I'm sure she's happy.

And also, Disgaea 3 is really the only game left on the PS3 that I'm willing to get a PS3 for. That, and Versus XIII, unless Versus is coming to 360 as well.

Though Squeenix is probably right to expand to Xbox360, it may be the first time that an FF game is realeased simultaenously for two consoles plus it will be more profitable for their American market as in the US there are more than two times the amount of 360's to PS3s.

With them departing from Sony for major games it seems more likely that the Wii will recieve a major FF game due to the ratio of Wii's to PS3s in Japan being 3:1 and since the main reason for allowing an FF game onto a Microsoft Console is probably for profit...

Truly great news. If this remained PS3 exclusive I'd have been so unhappy but now I have no need for a PS3. With the Singstar service not fully taking off (I hear), FF13 would have been the only one I wanted - oh although the spiritual successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will still tempt me when announced - but now I have no real need for a PS3. Even if FF is on multiple discs, I won't care. I can happily play FF7 on 3 discs so as long as the game is out that's the main thing.

Along with Resident Evil 5, 2009 will be a great year for games on Xbox.

i was never really looking forward to this game cause it looks something like ff12 and i didnet like that game, but this means that square is more likely to put more of their games on the x-box (and hopefuly kingdom hearts 3), i dont own a 360 and i never thought would want one but after this and seeing fable 2 i think this is the system to own

This is just why I've given up on the series, ever since the release of FFX the series just gets worse and worse. FFXI was a good concept but was poorly implemented and WoW is clearly far superior. FFXII was such a let down and can't even pull myself to complete it.

Failstation as a whole is generally doing poorly and this is just another kick in the balls with this. Xbox is greedy, most gaming companies are becoming greedy and the quality of games has just generally gone down the shitter.

This is a real shame for Square, FFXIII is my last hope for them and if they continue down the path then I guess I'm just going to give up on them and stick to the classics. Quite depressing to be honest.

I agree with you. I played final fantasy 5 to 12 and only 7 and 8 were great. The rest of them were...sigh...boring storyline with lame characters. I wasted my time playing ffx, x-2, and 12. The games were so boring that I didnt even finish it.

Well I think about it, and SE hasn't really said much till later on releasing XIII on the 360, which to my opinion, means they have been focusing it's programming for the PS3. I personally want to buy it for the PS3 because of that very reason. This may change in the future though, because I did end up buying GTA4 on the 360, it had extra features and what not. So maybe it will be an exclusive. I'm hoping theres a special edition to this, with Fan Art, and a possible DVD in the making. I remember when Suikoden V came out and it even had it's theme C.D. with around 7 tracks on it.

I am soo happy that there is going to be a 360 release. Now, I don't have to buy a PS3.

Will there be any content differences between the PS3 and Xbox 360? I am personally infuriated at this, not so much as them doing so, but in the sence that the determining factor of my buying my PS3 came almost soley on this games supposed exclusiveness. If I would of known this sooner I might of jumped on the corperate conglomerate band wagon and got a 360, even though I hate microsoft and everything it stands for nowadays ($$$$$$$$$$$$$). What a load of bull waiting so long into the anticipation to make an announcement like this. I must say this might seal the deal with the PS3, who knows, bunch of bull.

Don't get me wrong I am happy for the people that own 360s, lucky them.

Well, if you really were looking forward to a PS3, then get one. I mean, if you really hate the 360, there's no reason for you to get one. I mean, there are other good games than FFXIII for the PS3. Valkyria Chornicles and White Knight Story for two. And Disgaea 3.

Those are the only 3 PS3 games that I would want. I don't really care for any of the others. ^^;;;

I mean, just because it's coming out for 360 as well, doesn't mean it's not coming out for PS3 anymore. Losing exclusivity doesn't mean that it won't come out for the previous exclusive console anymore.

And also, companies shouldn't just stick to one console. They would go out of business that way. All businesses want to make a profit. That's why there are multi-platform games. For profit. To stay in business. (At least, that's just my take on it.)

I think some PS3 owners are upset over FFXIII losing exclusivity because the PS3 is more expensive, and one of the only Really good games for PS3 just became a 360 Game as well. This means that they could've just bought a cheaper consol, and not had to worry about it.

Meh. I just got an Xbox360 Elite today and I think I like it better. It has better games for download than the PlayStation store (though still utter shite compared to the Wii's selection), and any of the good games from the PS store can be downloaded straight from my computer to my PSP with no PS3 involvement whatsoever.

And unlike Xbox vs. PlayStation 2, I'm actually likeing the 360's selection of games a whole lot better so far too. Final Fantasy XIII was probably the only thing Sony had to interest me. And they lost it's exclusivity. Not all 360 gamers are n00bs, from my experience so far it's mostly a ton of Halo regulars.

The rest if anything seem cool if not geeky smart.

As for multiple discs, it didn't do anything negative for Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey. Oh wait... They were 360 exclusives. My bad, I can't think up a good example.

Truthfully I don't mind FFXIII moving to Xbox360. First off, I don't have an Xbox 360 just because I'm not huge into many huge fps games, with an exception of a very few, and I am probably going to get a PS3. I'm just hoping the fact that they add their game to the 360 will get more gamers into the Final Fantasy series.
Has square offered an estimated release date of the game? Because it sounds like the fact that they have to change the ps3 format into 360 might take time and might result in another delay of the release of the actual game.
...and for all of the people who are pissed that the game has lost its exclusivity to the PS3, you can always move to Japan, where it is still a PS3 exclusive. XD
On the other hand, I think for now FFVXIII still is a PS3 exclusive and might move to the 360 depending on how well the four rpgs they are releasing for the 360 sell. However, this is just kinda my theory on what is to happen to the Final Fantasy series this coming year and it might be completely wrong.

well if its true i think thats dumb because playstation dosnt have halo so halo is like a big xbox thing and final fantasy games are like big playstation games so if a final fantasy game goes to xbox then halo games should come to playstation
