I miss female evil characters too. Ultimecia is still my favorite villain.

Sephiroth didn't impress me so much. The whole angels and devils thing is just way too cliché for me.

Anyway, even if they started Lightening off as Cloud they should evolve her over the story. If she keeps being reminiscent of Cloud the whole game, it will suck. I mean, why would I play a game that reminds me of another game?

The only case where Lightening being a Cloud could be a fun thing in the story is if you could play FF7 in the FF13's "Gold Saucer" and Lightening would say: "I don't like this game I can't stand the main character."

lightning isnt really cloud its just her personality and style is a bases of clouds original design lets all hope that Lightning doesnt go Emo for half the game grrrrr

Actually Lightning is Cloud with few changes!! I used to have the pic of the way they changed Cloud to Lightning and believe me...You guys will be shocked!!

Yeah, I read that too on wiki a while ago...wow DS, that just draws it out and makes it seem so obvious, doesn't it? Who is the guy that did that example though? Just some random dude or what?

And agreed with previous commenters: FF and SE direly NEED a new story to play up. Enough with all of the FF7 remakes! Yes, the story was good, but other stories are good too. Thanks for the things you did to revolutionize things, but don't be stuck on just ONE THING. One thing that I have always respected in FF is how each game stands on its own feet, with some connecting patterns, true, but not obvious ones.

I expect we'll all have something to say when ff13 comes out. I'm going to wait and see. Lol. Annnnnd one of these days, I may end up getting that ps3...*squints*

Heh, we'll see. The femme Cloud thing seems to hint at how strange it's going to end up being....but I'll keep myself undecided until I actually get a chance to play the game. ^^

Ok seriously with image construction and reconfigurations I could make you look like Richard Simmons, does that mean that you are Richard Simmons? I thought not. To be honest, I was expecting someone better as a main character. What happened to the likes of Cecil and Terra?

Maybe since Final Fantasy VII was quite a success, Square Enix is trying to make something similar. The problem is that gamers want original stuff. It is annoying to see the same things over and over again. I hope I've been wrong all along and that Final Fantasy XIII is truly original.

I'm not sure but I think Amano created those characters. Nomura just redesigned them. What I'm sure about is that Amano created Sephiroth because I saw the artwork.

Nomura is the one who deisgned lots of FF characters including Cloud and Squall. I dunno about Sephiroth but I also know the he was designed by Nomura, too.
