The girl's name...
I'm sorry if there is already a thread like this, but...
I've heard some rumors that her name will be "Lightning". It sounds kind of weird, but then again, FFVII had a guy named Cloud, so it wouldn't be too bizarre. It could be a nickname too... What do you think? Has anyone else heard anything different?

I heard that it would be Lighting as well too in magazines and other sites. There's not really much information on the game yet even characters but it could be a possibility as we know. Square gives their FF character's names really different compared to reality, but then again I've heard some weird names in real life too.
 I guess we're gonna have to wait and see.

Eh... Are you kidding me?
I mean, sure. Cloud = weird puffy floaty thing in the sky... Squall = vast wind and storms... But Lightning? Actually, now that I think of Squall and Cloud, it doesn't seem so strange anymore. Totally unimaginative and boring, though.

You're right, it does sound kind of uncreative... but come to think of it, to me, the girl kind of looks like a female version of Cloud...

I don't know why they would name her lighting though. It seems highly unlikely that they would name a girl that.

considering the names that Square Enix have given the characters, I'm not that surprised. Sounds like a cool name, though, it's makin me kina half-hope the rumors are true...

I wouldn't get too hung up about the name. I think that its her codename in some kind of organization, she's famous for being lightning-fast or something.

Lightning? I hope that is just a rumor and not her actual name. It is very unimaginative and not catchy at all! I wish they would come up with something completely different instead of types of weather or things in the sky lol. Maybe that will be her last name or something, who knows! I'm not too keen on the idea of that being her first name though.
