As for that rumoured name, it could be far worst.... and I like the unlikely names! Gives more of a 'not in Kansas anymore' feel. You don't quite need wierd names to do that, but it helps.

Click on the link. Then, look at the second clip under game media. The name should be E3 2K6 Trailer. Now watch the clip until the battle scene in which all the little icons on the bottom of the screen shows up. (when she's fighting the guards and wolf thing) Look at the bottom and you'll see the word "lightning".

I'm pretty sure this is where the rumour came from. It looks like the area where her name should be. The thing is, this is only a trailer so the information might not be 100% true, but this could mean that her name might be lightning.

BTW enjoy the clip, it is the clearest FFXIII trailer I could find.

I sure hope her name isn't Lightning. That's just so crap and unoriginal. Surely they could come up with a better name than that! It's the kind name you'd name your pet dog if it could run really fast or a corny superhero's name. Please somebody tell me that her name isn't Lightning.

I have read blogs of people who went to the Jump Fiesta 2007 at the 16th and they confirmed that the heroine's name is indeed Lightning. However, it seems to be some sort of a codename.

yeah i heard her names is Lightning as well. Supposedly they want to keep the tradition of usually having a main character named after some form of element in nature. (i.e. cloud, squall, terra)...

but that's just an educated guess

I doubt thats gonna be the name O_O At least I really hope that.Hopefully Sqare will came up with an amazing name that we can't even comprehend! Then again I wouldn't be surprised if her name does have something to do with some type of element or something in nature.
